  1. I had KU36s on my Evo and have 595SSs on my Cube and (allowing for the obvious differences in the car itself) found the Federals MUCH better for road noise. I reckon they're a great tyre for the money.
  2. Oh my word. I'm in love.
  3. ...and I just happen to have a set of LM-GT4s for sale too http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/369608-sa-koya-driftek-replicasgtfoh-nismo-lm-gt4-18
  4. Yes, but you have a better chance of finding a real live Smurf.
  5. Ah gotcha - aside from switching the 13B for a 20B, I would keep it the same too If that's his plan for the car then the LS1/2/3 would be a safe bet. Are any of the new V8s from Ford all-alloy?
  6. They're about the same money as a Murano, but without the ugly I guess I put them in the same boat as the BMW X6 - trying to be all things to all people, and not necessarily excelling in any particular area. Handy if you have a partner who is prone to taking off the front spoiler of your car on any given spoon drain though...
  7. "Unique" has served the English language pretty well for the 500-odd years prior to 2010...I blame Top Gear personally... Anyway back to the car, why is he taking out the 13BT? I like the H1 idea, but an LS1 is probably the safer option... PS what are those wheels?
  8. Cool car, but for the love of God, don't use the word "bespoke" - it's like a cancer on automotive journalism...
  9. ^^^This. Just remember that just because a car is eligible for import doesn't mean it's also going to be good enough for a roadworthy
  10. It's economies of scale - if Holden were selling a million cars a year here instead of 100,000 then the costs of development would be spread out and cars would be cheaper. In the meantime, for a country of 20-odd million, we have one car manufacturer that produces large RWD sedans with a choice of a stomping straight six turbo or a supercharged V8, and another that bolts arguably the most easily tuned V8 in the world into a large RWD sedan and sells them at, in relative terms, bargain basement prices. The only equivalent car in GM's lineup now is the Caddy CTS-V which is BMW money over there. Get on any Ford Mustang site in the US and see how badly they'd love to have the Falcon in V8 form. Seriously, they ache for a decent RWD sports sedan over there.
  11. lol a Camaro SS is $34K give or take, conversions are $30K not $10K, but I understand your point... I'm trying to do something about the high prices... www.ironblockimports.com
  12. Oh my son of rajab....I'm in love...I can't believe how much better it looks with the duck tail!!
  13. I can do it, but he'll need to pay me to get it sorted....
  14. This one has had me in fits of laughter all day...
  15. lol no comment
  16. If it has come in under the 15 year rule, it won't have a compliance plate. If you've bought it from interstate, it will need to be signed off by an engineer before it can be registered, if it was already registered in NSW before you bought it, you should be able to transfer it the same way you do with any other vehicle.
  17. My Dad drove a Legnum for a few years, I reckon he was getting something like 8l/100km around town in it, barely touched the throttle haha
  18. Just to clarify - the ones in the pics are Nismo items, you're gonna get away with running those as they don't stick out too much. If you get the ricey clear LED tail lights, then expect to get pulled over. Technically, the only lights that meet ADRs are the factory originals.
  19. Well it'll fit no probs, but don't say I didn't warn you if it scrapes Tyre selection will help a bit in that regard too.
  20. The equivalent to an R34 GT-R these days is....an R35 GT-R. When they were new, there wasn't a huge difference between them price wise, hell even the R32 GT-R was $110K when it was sold here new back in 1991. The FT-86 is the best thing to come along for cheap RWD performance in a long long time. Pity Hyundai chose not to make the Genesis in RHD...
  21. Ideal fitment for an Evo is 18x9 +30, if you go to a 9.5 you're gonna have to do guard work on the rears, and doing it without bending the rear quarter is very very tricky. So, it'll fit, but you'll need to roll the guards.
  22. Oddly enough, buying from Japan gives you a better chance of getting a car with legit kms than buying one locally. At least you can get the export certificate as verification of the kms, even if it doesn't have books. Like anything, you get what you pay for. If you want something with books, then bump your budget up accordingly and I'm sure your broker will get you something nice.
  23. The short answer is no, you'll need to get an engineer to sign off on it before you can get it blue slipped.
