  1. Probably not, no...
  2. I would start by speaking to RAWs in your state about the situation and seeing what they say, as they will be the ones who have to sign off on it. I can't remember off hand who did one before, but I know it has been done.
  3. Hi Scott, Sorry for not getting back to you before, I know you PMed or emailed me at some point about it. In Japan, when a car is stolen, they generally remove the chassis number from their registration system - if it is then recovered, they will blank off the chassis number under the bonnet and reassign it a new identity, usually with the new registration number (which is what you have listed up the top there). I paid REAL good money for an R34 V-Spec II that was in the same boat, and I took the loss and put it back through auction rather than risk it, but a few workshops I contacted said that they were happy to do it if it was restamped with a new VIN over there. One even said they'd successfully complied and registered such a car. Not sure if this helps... Cheers Kristian
  4. As mentioned, Victoria had a loophole in its laws that allowed people to bring in whole cars and switch all the parts on to a local model (in your case, a Lancer) and assign a new VIN as the imported car (in your case, an Evo 4). What soon happened was that people were bringing cars over and just rebirthing them rather than swapping all the parts over, and it ran rife until it was shut down. So one of two things has happened - your car should have the VIN of a local Lancer, or that of a "rebuilt" car (it will have "REBU1LD" or something similar in the new VIN. Either way, I'm amazed you managed to get it registered here - Regency should've knocked it back in a heartbeat. PM me the VIN and I should be able to tell you. The upshot of it all is that I doubt highly that it will be able to be registered in NSW. You'd need to sell it in SA (seeing it's already registered) or in Victoria.
  5. Sold in the UK and Japan, but the UK gets the good ones - manual AWD, 1.6l DI turbo
  6. It's a concept car, it's meant to be OTT! It's designed to give you an insight into where they're heading in the future. I prefer my designs a little more organic, personally...
  7. In the JEM pics it has a number plate on it, although I guess that doesn't necessary mean it's complied
  8. lol I wonder who complied it...
  9. I spotted this car on Main North Road at about 12:30 too! Anyone know any more about it?
  10. Just to clarify - aren't Gatsometers all the older radar-style detectors rather than lasers? I'm no expert on the subject, but it's a question worth asking I would've thought.
  11. Assumption and proof are two different things - the onus is on the police to prove his guilt.
  12. As already mentioned get a lawyer. I would be the first to say bad luck, cop the fine, but it's worth noting that the newer radar systems are very accurate in terms of where they're pointing, and in this case, it would've been pointing at the Commodore, not at you. I would fight it - it is the responsibility of the police to prove that it was you who was guilty in this instance, I reckon they'd have a hard time doing that, regardless of what the photo does or doesn't show. I'd certainly be going to court to fight it.
  13. I do indeed - been looking on Yahoo Japan for some! Email me some details!
  14. Rockin' the coilovers and stockies for the time being....it had a wash soon after this...
  15. What's the chassis number on your DR?
  16. That may just be the most perfectly relevant animated gif I've ever seen...
  17. I think my cat may actually be holding a table tennis bat...
  18. Bit off in the whiskers but check out that tail!
  19. He's not doing them anymore, the thread is closed
