  1. Yes believe it or not we have Nissan dealerships in SA. They even sell R35s! OP, you have a snowflake's chance in hell, sorry to burst your bubble. You'd be wanting to pay a hell of a lot more money than fuel money for someone to give up a fair chunk of a day...
  2. ^^that's pretty much it. They're trying to streamline it to a national set of roadworthy standards, but getting the states to agree is like trying to herd cats. I reckon converting factory xenon headlights to halogens is stupid and downright dangerous, I always put the factory ones back in once the cars are on the road. Keep an eye out for a column on this topic in next month's (I think!) FF&R magazine...
  3. More than you can afford, pal... I really need to upgrade my LM-GT4s an inch...
  4. Actually the US doesn't have auto leveling or washers either. Pity we don't follow their lead. You're a little off on your info there - a RWC is to make sure that the car is roadworthy AND meets ADRs. The two go hand-in-hand. If anyone passes with xenons in an M35, it's purely because you got lucky with the inspector, not because you're allowed to have them there. As for colour temperature, stick between 4000K and 6000K, as people have already mentioned.
  5. If it's freshly imported, ask for the de-reg paper. It's the only true way of knowing.
  6. Yes, take it from me - the Wife Acceptance Factor drops off markedly if you go lower than that
  7. Well $10K might be doable, I guess, if you went for a sedan. As Hank said, get a GT-Four sedan in manual, then drop a 26 in it when you're off your Ps...
  8. Most of the guys here will do cars from other countries. And yes, buying from the US is very good at the moment
  9. It depends on whether or not it has a compliance plate - if it came in under the old 15 year rule, it wouldn't have a plate. Chances are it was actually complied, either under SEVS or under the old system. All cars imported under the pre-1989 and 15-year rules that don't have compliance plates.
  10. No they won't, they also need to have a washing system, which no compliance workshop in Australia fits. If anyone has made it through with HIDs in an Evo, it's purely by luck.
  11. There's your first problem right there...
  12. Whoever told you it needs to be engineered is correct - it does.
  13. IIRC the Z32s fail to meet ADRs after the end of 1997 because they only run a single airbag and need twins. It's a very narrow window for what's available to import.
  14. Hahahahaha I don't think so...definitely not cronic...
  15. Champion, thanks for that Dave and Chris, I'll pass that on to the other Cube guys.
  16. Spotted BIT SUS in some poo-spec Forester waving me past so he could check out the Cube haha
  17. Mine's currently on the docks, so the one you saw would probably number 3 in Australia, aside from the two test cars that are already on the road.
  18. Brilliant, fingers crossed Nissan Japan will pony up the cash for Nissan Australia to do the job...
  19. That theory actually applies in both directions too - I've seen cars get lumped with a 3 that should've been 4 or 4.5, although normally it's the other way around
  20. Hey, I'm the only one giving reacharounds!!
  21. ^^^^ That last scenario is correct. Given that the car was imported in 2005, it's entirely possible that it had those kms on it when it arrived in Australia, but as far as verifying mileage goes, the documents they've sent you don't make a very convincing case either way. The fact that the owner has held on to them for 5 years, however, points to someone who keeps their documents in order, which usually also points to a well serviced car. I think it's worth going over to have a look at it. The paperwork's not ideal but it's better than most.
  22. Yes and yes...post up the auction sheet if you have it there.
  23. Make sure he has something to back that claim up then.
  24. Still on their way over, will update you once I have a set on the white one I have here.
  25. 40-45mm drop... http://page17.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/v159654040
