  1. Well said tranman! The current state of play, we have: - Poorly-worded SEVS legislation which is inconsistently enforced by DoTaRS (they ask for RAWS to have de-reg papers but don't bother to cross-check the kms on IVIRs against the readings on the de-reg??) - Consumers who would rather break the law and keep their aftermarket parts, who also want to pay as little as possible - Greedy RAWS (some not all) who are prepared to also break the law in order to get a bigger slice of the market and make more money. To fix it: - SEVS needs to be overhauled, legislation and policies concentrate on the big issues rather than mucking around with trivialities - Consumers need to pay more for their cars and accept that they'll get them stock standard - Shonky RAWS need to be put out of business. See? Simple! lol
  2. I've got a customer with an R33 GT-R series 3 that has a xenon headlight unit with condensation/water inside it - who in SA would be good to send it to for cleaning/repair/reseal? Anyone here done it before? For obvious reasons, he doesn't want to have to replace the whole unit...
  3. Ugh imagine finding parts for a 253 V8 in Japan??!!
  4. Actually who was in that blue R33 GTR, that was a bit of a monster too! Martin, I too will be coming to visit tomorrow or Thursday
  5. Bahaha...I hear the faint sound of a reversing beeper from my place...
  6. Cazz, I think 'they' was in reference to the timing system and the computers that run it, not the organisers
  7. Yeah that's mine, currently shopping for 20s Don't forget compliance is $4400 Seller inspected and approved isn't worth the paper it's written on, unfortunately - if a dealer in Oz was selling a car to Japan and someone asked them what it was like, I'm sure it would get a glowing report from the dealer if they knew there was no warranty or recourse if the car wasn't as described
  8. Heslo drives like a pussy - the gauntlet has been thrown down...
  9. I posted that more than a month ago
  10. My Cube won't play DVDs either Chris! Chris? Chriiiiiissssssssssssss.....
  11. Yeah the first Z-Tune here (the one that got butchered with a stereo system and other crap) went to Greece, and as someone already said, anything is possible with the right amount of money - this will be registered, no doubt about it.
  12. I can do it, I'd get mine transported though - don't fancy hitting a 'roo out on the Hay Plain lol
  13. ^^ Didn't you just buy a 15 year old Soarer?? And as always, you get what you pay for. A decent manual 110 won't cost you any less than $30K, I know this from personal experience (see below). Decent autos are in the low $20Ks. Low prices at auctions doesn't automatically mean they're good enough to pass compliance.
  14. Take yours for example, at least you put in the seats, the rear guards and the grille/bonnet and stuff to make it half believable....just gotta change out the RB20DE and convert it to manual now...
  15. Waaaaayyyy off Great car! Drives beautifully, and we still somehow managed to keep the xenons lol
  16. They can bury me in mine lol
  17. I'll be down there as early as possible - looking forward to catching up with everyone once again!
  18. The main problem is that there are less and less models coming out of Japan that can be imported under SEVS for the Aussie market (ie turbo, RWD, manual). I suspect the future of SEVS will eventually rely more heavily on Europe for cars.... PS I just bought a 110 - don't diss 'em
  19. Two different kettles of fish - your R32 would have been imported under the old 15 year rule, that's why it needed a full pit inspection. The R34 will be imported under RAWS, no such problems, in fact the workshop that does them in SA will run it through Regency for you.
  20. It definitely went out on the track, I have the brown undies to prove it. If I can find my damn USB cord to upload the vid from my BB, I will post it for all to see. Footage is mostly of the sky, then the floor between gearchanges...but at least you can hear it...
  21. I think he's sending me a coded message re the reacharound...
