FS: Autronic SM2... used but like new
gtrken replied to doridori32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Wow, someone has there own private dragstrip. $1800 is a good price and as it is off a GTR, I assume it has the correct twin dwell boards? Cheers Ken -

Hmmmm, they are cheaper new dude.. And they come with a plug and piece of harness. Cheers Ken -
True Dat bam.. having said that, having an inhouse dyno really helps with problem solving and you don't have to rely/book in to use someone elses. Depends on what you want to do on the car and what specialist expertise is required.. Cheers Ken

*blush, blush* yea, and am I pissed about that little oversight . Sorry woody.. To reiterate woodys quest of the block, it has to be a std or be able to be cleaned up by first oversize( 86.5mm ) using forged pistons.. Cheers Ken

Awurth, I flew to Melbourne early last year and bought a Burgundy R32 GTR plus bought an R34GTR from Queensland just before Christmas( 03sym plates). Is only a $600 round trip. Why was the car repainted and do you have the original auction sheet? Would have to get a cylinder leakage/compression test done on it before a price was negotiated. How far from Gavin Woods Technology are you , I think he is in Labrador. Cheers Ken

Ok awurth, we have a client interested and would have to fly over to look. So was the car repainted here in or Japan, what mileage is showing on the speedo, do you believe it to be accurate, how long have you owned it, has it been serviced or checked by a quality workshop? A few questions I know but Qld is a long way from WA and have to know if we are even in the ballpark. Cheers Ken

What suburb are you ? My wife runs one but only in a certain area around Ballajura/warwick/morley And she doesn't take any shit...lol Cheers Ken

Long, Anthony Scali ( nd4spd) will probably be doing the rebuild on it as our resident engine building/head porting/wolf tuning guru. I think if you ask anyone on here , they will tell you what his achievements are. Compression/cylinder leakdown test on the GTR is $150. Cheers Ken

Any advanced training is good but... there is always a but.. Try and get a course where the instructor is IN the car with you, not just standing outside if possible. The instructor being in the car can pick up a lot more of your problems/bad habits etc. I know they all do the outside of the car type training as it helps keep costs down but it takes longer to correct mistakes. Obviously a 1 on 1 is the best but would be very pricey, mainly for venue hire and instructor wages. Cheers Ken

rofl.. Long, will get that price to you asap. I assume you know who will be building it here?? Cheers Ken

Good training tool that Swedish skid car.. I should know as I was the first WA instructor on it. Reason was that Myself and Steve founded DTEC and bought them in back in 1996. Good to see that young people are doing these PROPER advanced courses willingly. I got sick of teaching young people who didn't want to learn and thought they knew everything:) Cheers Ken

Flite, good price and very cheap..why? My suggestion is before you spend all your money on painting etc, make sure the mechanicals are sound and you have fresh fluids, filters, belt, pump etc. That is do a major service on it. Also get the compression test/cylinder leakage done to assess engine condition. you may be in for a surprise, you may not. Cheers Ken

R32 GTR "Where to start!!??"
gtrken replied to linksys76's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
60,000km..in an 89 gtr you bought for a good price.rofl. Mate I hate to burst your bubble but a genuine one would go for more in Japan than the on the road price here in WA. realistically expect to spend $1K for a major service which includes all oils changed to quality synthetic products and that is motor, gearbox, front and rear diff and transfer case, new timing belt, new water pump , plugs, fuel filter and brake fluid flush.check and report on brakes, d/shaft boots etc. If the car has any more than 2 d/shaft boots gone or been replaced recently, I suspect closer to 100,000km At the same time we comp test/cylinder leak test it as see whether it is worthwhile continuing or advising you to get your wallet ready for a big hit.. Cheers Ken -
OOOOHHHHH, Big rock..only a short drive for Lunch meets. And very close to Paully..( rats ) hehe Cheers Ken

Why?? we can tune GTR's in 2wd mode. Has no adverse affect on either the car or the result.. Cheers ken

Only if that babe in your avatar is your sister..... As Liz said, we look after every one but try and go that little bit more for SAU members, especially if there sister looks like your avatar.. Cheers Ken
-
True that and i agree that he is entitled to advertise the car.. I am also emtitled to do the best for the SAU members and advise them of the worth and viability of the advertised product... This is, as far as I know , a freedom of speech within reason, forum... To quote a well known phrase * I call it as I see it*.... Cheers Ken

An airfare to the East..... He knew that I had paid a deposit and as a fellow member of SAU , I thought he would respect that, obviously not... He was banned under the name of Mirkop and i can't see why it has changed... Sorry Prank , some guys just piss me off.....

* Think we may have one of the best Nissan engine builders in WA on board as well..* Not confirmed but looking good... Does the name * hard working 6 legged creature * jog the memory? Cheers Ken
-
Cos ban me if you like but he screwed me over for the price of the car which he bought for 32K after I paid the original owner 1K deposit.. And the words were ***** you*. M irkop, you were banned and I see no reason why this post shouldn't be..... Prank, sorry but this guy gets up my nose......

RB25 tranny awd?? suggest more research.. GTR uses double wishbone style front end whilst S14/15 uses macpherson struts for starters. You would need the RB26GTR tranny, a lot of time , patience and money to achieve what? I would suggest it is not impossible, just not economically viable. It would probably be cheaper to pay Motorex for a GTR.. BTw, is it school holidays atm in America?? Cheers Ken

Well it will be hard to take it to SST these days.. The seller shouldn't be reluctant , because if they have nothing to hide, there should be no problem. A lot of cars we check have faults even the seller didn't know and just because someone is selling their car, doesn't make them dodgy. We have also had cars that have been in very good nick and will also say that as well. We do give the cars a thorough checkover including compression test and cylinder leakage if required plus the knowledge we have of the Nissan product. We don't profess to be experts on Holdens and Falcons, but our knowledge of the Nissan range is pretty good and I am confident we can do a better job of checking the product than the RAC/SGIO van man thingy.. Cheers Ken

Read the rules Mirkop, post a price. Ken

We bought a bayside blue one out of Qld late last year with 290awkw rebuilt engine by Gavin Wood, lots of mods in the way of suspension etc and it owes my client under $85K parked at his door. It is a beautiful car and was the one featured on the front cover of HPI 9. So it shows there are bargains( or we think it is) that can be had locally. Cheers Ken
-
Dan, we bought the car from the East, has been in the country for a while. In fact it was the 2nd one in and was on the front cover of HPI no9 Car has reciepts for $15K of engine work plus a LOT of money spent on handling( DMS suspension etc) and laps the Qld tracks quicker than Porsches on club days. Lets just say the price was under $85K sitting at his house.. Cheers Ken
