  1. Note I said a fast acting gauge, which the factory one most definetely isn't ! I use a Greddy peak/recall with reset for low oil and this brings the light on. I have had the gauge drop to 1kg/cm thingy type number and the factory gauge is still showing 4 kg whatever they ares... Cheers ken
  2. Simmo!! I'm shocked, that car took you ages to find. I can vouch for the fact that is an exceptionally clean car( unless he's crashed it without telling me ) Reason I know is I sold it to him and boy was he fussy when he flew over .hehe If he is as pedantic with looking after it as he was with buying it, that is a bloody good buy. Good luck with the sale Simon and I wonder what your getting next. Cheers Ken
  3. WTF?? I don't think so. Watch the oil pressure gauge( decent aftermarket one) on a GTR through the long sweeper at barbagallo and tell me its not oil starvation... cheers ken
  4. Std baffle is more a windage tray which attempts to separate the crank from the sump oil. There are no swing gates or any sort of surround around the pickup and the oil can freely slosh from side to side under cornering/braking/accelerating. Aftermarket baffles have the gates/surround but do not increase oil capacity. A trust sump extension or Performance metalcraft sump is reqd to do that. Run a GTR more than 1/2L low on oil at a track day at your own risk and if you are a good steerer on race spec tyres even a full sump wont help... Cheers Ken
  5. 1) not really , there are plenty of deals on new terbs with better housings than spending the $2-2.5K rebuilding yours 2) No special tools, just a LOT of patience and do NOT bend the oil and water lines or you will be sorry. 3 )if they are straight replacement, we usually charge around $800 plus gaskets cos it's a prick of a job with the engine in the car. 4) Can't help you with that but stick to w/shops that know and have worked on these cars rather than go for just the cheapest price. Cheers ken
  6. Would like to know how that works with a R33? Cheers Ken
  7. Highest hp road type GTR in Oz I believe is Leewah's running Autronic and CDI. Highest HP at this years Summernats was a twin turbo V8 running autronic and CDI.... Cheers ken
  8. Have a std bumper on a front cut we are stripping. Is silver in colour and in fairly good nick( slight scrape/tear on lower lip) Comes with factory option spotlights.Ring for further details and no, I don't have pics. cheers Ken
  9. Check the sizing and direction of angle on the wastegate pipe. I would suggest that the gate/pipe on the wastegate is of insufficient size or the air passing the pipe where it joins in is of too great a restriction, meaning the air would rather go through the turbo. Feel free to drop it around and we may be able to put a different perspective on it that may have been missed by the shop you are dealing with. cheers Ken
  10. Collie, August 29th Cheers Ken
  11. Yep , Nizmo is and GTST Vspec is a lucky SOB.. Cheers ken
  12. Sydneykid ( to find out if he REALLY does own a w/shop )and to also pick his brains Charley cos she sounds like a nutter female( I love nutter females who drive imports) Cheers ken
  13. Balanced?? How do you balance springs?? Unless you mean corner weighted in which case the price is cheap. I don't know how much you think springs cost but that price is reasonable. Wilko will be about the cheapest or if your in Malaga , try Malaga Suspension and Springs. Cheers ken
  14. FC Datalogit is your friend..... Cheers Ken
  15. We charge about $300 for a stockish( ie. normal mods ) to tune the Power FC and have the laptop software. What you are paying for is expertise... Cheers ken
  16. $29,500! for an 89? I have an 89 in very good cond and is in rare Burgundy with some minor mods and a brand new exedy twin plate I would let go for that and I am in WA. Cheers ken
  17. Good GTR's in WA are a little thin on the ground atm. Don't believe all the horror stories, some of the best GTR's I have seen for a while have been 89's and at the end of the day , the best they are going to be is 10years old. There are at least 2 other people I know chasing GTR's in WA so good luck. Cheers ken
  18. Mikey , a lot has to do with the attitude of the younger generation.. $100 for a wheel? You talking steering wheel or roadhweel? Just cos he was standing next to the vehicle doesnt mean the engine was for sale. Cheers Ken
  19. 1) 17x9 2) Yes 3) can't remember 4) Less than normal rims as they are forged 5) $1500-$2000 per set Cheers Ken
  20. You are obviously living in fantasy land.... Cheers Ken
  21. Drift day at Collie on the w/end. 1 bar at 8200rpm ( damn these Jap rechips !) Goodbye one turbo wheel Cheers ken
  22. The trust oil sump increases the capacity and the sleeve around the new pickup acts as a baffle. We put one on the Targa prepped GTR and had absolutely no oil surge issues. The Jun one is just a baffle plate/windage tray and does not increase the sump capacity which is one of the biggest problems with the R. It is virtually the same as the Nismo one and all it did( yes, we tried that first ) was to delay the onset of the oil guage dropping. My advice is if you are track running a GTR , have a very good fast reading oil pressure gauge with an adjustable red light. I used that light to save my engine on a few occasions last year when I won the Enjo Speed Event Series. Do the things Sydney Kid suggest but don't forget , they only have 4.5L std and with the std *oil up the top*problems, there may be as little as 2L left in the sump to run the bearings. Cheers Ken
  23. That's good to hear that you are better/back. Don't worry some of the old members( SAU and age wise) remember you and hope to see you out on a cruise or two. Cheers Ken

  25. You thinking maybe he used Full synthetic and things haven't bedded in yet? The symptoms you describe are reminiscent of valve stem seals or turbo seal failure. Are you sure it's not blowing smoke at higher speed and you just can't see it. Have someone follow you and tell . Cheers Ken
