Hmm yea , good point rhino. We might have to pull the fuse on the 32R's and have a bit of a go at this. Though last time I tried it , fogged the tyres until 1/2 way thru third. * Hmm , thinks maybe I will just stay a keyboard warrior than risk it * Cheers Ken

And thus endeth the lesson on why people buy GTR's instead of spending more on a GTS-T. Said it once and will say it again . For reliability , price and resale value , it's hard to go past a 32R. If ya wanta faster car, buy one the manufacturer made. Cheers Ken * goes and finds flame suit *:flamed:

The problem with the syncro's is sometimes an issue with the oil being too slippery and not slowing the shaft down before changing. Nissan did an upgrade to the GTR boxes which had the same problem but cost about 2K for parts alone. I have solved the problem on 3 x Nissan boxes so far for about $100-$120 by using Redline Lightweight Shockproof oil ( blue smurf ). Is amazing stuff and ask Micko who will vouch how well it is still going. Ken
  13. Location and price would be nice
  14. Oops , soorryy. Your right , was way past my bedtime and I hadn't had my cocoa:D jvs007 a rattle is correct but a grinding sound is not. Have had both before and got confused. Damn Alschieme... , damn alsscheme... , aaahhh whetever! Ken
  15. Fellas , read the post . He said when it is IN which I consider is not normal. Could be overcentering if the throwout carrier wasn't the right one or the fork is too short. Ken
  16. b2barker Yea thanks for that but you showed the one I stuffed up. No matter , as they say , any publicity is good publicity. 25GTT Years of Rallying and making mistakes . Hehehe Skyzerr33 , You will keep, I know where you live Joe I am trying to find the one of me inside the Burswood dome at the Classic. Now that, if I don't say so myself, was one of my better efforts. Cheers Ken
  17. err , so your saying that your 180 sx is worth between modded R33 GTS-T ($24K ish) to R32 GTR ( $32K ish ) to R34 GTS-T ($39K ish ) Ahh , I don't mean to be negative , but I don't think so. Ken
  18. Are we talking swap with cash or a straight swap ??
  19. 540's are the control tyre for the street class at Wanners. One of the best tyres I've ever driven on and they last about 15-20 ,000 km. Magic in the wet surprisingly as I was on em when set a couple of fastest stage times at Targa. If it's pissing down , that's a bit different but show me any tyre that works perfect in those conditions. Cheers Ken
  20. Thats separate pipe coming from the wastegate, the actuator is the round diaphragm thing on the outside that controls the waste gate. As most std dump pipes have a solid plate for the wastegated gas to hit and then try and turn 90 deg and mix with the rest of the gas coming out then logically, that is not good. The one big pipe scenario is ok but still put a splitter sheild between the two outlets ( wastegate and main turbo exit gases ). Is what is done with a lot of Rexes with good results. The seperate pipe for the wastegate which blends in further down has got to be a better way of exiting all the spent gases and a quality local exhaust shop could do it for you at prolly a similar price to a new Jap one.
  21. Err forgive me if I missed something KillerT but are you changing the computer to suit the different voltage scale deflection you will get ? I always thought that this mod only worked with aftermarket computer and only reqd for big HP engines Ken
  22. Steel wheels , do you know this for sure ? All std GTR's have ceramic wheels and 1 bar is the safe limit with them. Ken
  23. If they are like the proflex then it is Nitrogen filled but at 12 bar. Do NOT try a normal gauge to check it. It will not change the bump / rebound by varying the pressure ( that is the valvings job ) but if it is low , can cause of softness and bottom out easy.
  24. *sigh * has this been done before or what ? If the slave cylinder ( the round thing that the clutch line is attached to on the drivers side of the gearbox at the front ) bolts on in front of the clutch fork ( the piece of metal that is sticking thru the rubber grommet on the gearbox on the drivers side at the front ) then it is a PUSH clutch If the slave cylinder bolts on behind the clutch fork ( ie further to the rear of the car ) then it is a PULL clutch. Check the date by looking at the writing on therubber brake lines or on the booster vacuum line under the bonnet. will be something like 2/93 or similar. More than one person has found there 93 model isn't quite there when they read 8/92 or something similar. Dodgy importers change the brake lines but always forget the booster one. Ken
