  1. yeah, I have an 044 in mine, and it's making about 200rwkw (estimate!), I would have thought the skyline setup would streach a bit further than 175?
  2. wow - looks great for that sort of price. Does your 'landed' price include that stuff (assume it does?): Like, is an 11300k price (in that example) one that basically is able to be rego'd and driven straight away on the public road, or is it $11300 + 10% duty + $1100 + 10% gst + $113 quaranteen + $120 agent processing + $150. (sorry bit of an importing n00b). That black R33 looks very nice!
  3. What sort of R33 GTS-T condition-wise does 8k get you? How about something that's manual, stock as possible, 2 door and in 'good' condition and probably around 150,000k edit: probably not interested, like, right now - but a little later in the year probably - will keep you in mind!
  4. i've got an 044 mounted externally and it buzzes like anything, audiable above the exaust - doesn't seem to matter how full the tank is (although if it's running low it becomes a bit of an intermitant buzz).
  5. ah woops, bit slow on the uptake also meant xr8, not xr6. Maybe I'll just shut up now.... lol
  6. thanks cubes - yeah it's possible it's buggered as it's just one from a wreckers, but shouldn't there be more noticible side-effects of not having it working at all?
  7. nah - pretty much a stock setup apart from the pfc. :
  8. Nah - that's the thing, it never changes, no matter what, although I havn't tried a WOT run at all. afaik it should show *some* voltage even at idle.
  9. Hey, Was looking at my powerFC tonight, and in particular the "sensor test" screen - everything else is going well, but the "THRO" sensor (assume throttle body sensor) is showing 0.00 volts and has a black background, rather than all the rest which are just on the usual light background. Does this indicate a fault? (I'm guessing it does). Car is running perfectly normally - apart from occasionally it has an idle hunting issue which makes me suspect the TPS, I'm yet to see if the voltage changes at all when it 'hunts' on idle. comments? cheers
  10. If it's only a 'minor' defect I *think* you only have to visit a police station, afaik it's only if they tick the 'major' box you have to lube up for regency. If that is the case, take out the turbo time AND harness (I got picked up for that), of course by 'take out' you could interpret that as add a plug onto the end of the harness and electrical tape it to a handy loom running nearby umm just check things like ride height, and most importantly eyebrow height, and like cubes said, bushes, etc they seem to be pretty picky with them no matter what. Catch cans are fine if they are 'enclosed' - the ones with filters on the top are the ones they will get worked up about.
  11. I thought you weren't allowed to have anyone else with you lol. Unless they just had the engineer look after the inspection...
  12. lol i went there when they had their last one, useless, 20% off still only starts to bring items back to their 'normal' price. You can find the same stuff elsewhere generally for the same price.
  13. We saw 2 cop cars outside, at the time they'd pulled over a celsior (I think?) and were checking it out - lucky we didnt get picked on...
  14. Yeah a bit the same here - although boostworx were REALLY good to me on saturday, they installed a new vaccum modulator for me (after my awesome transmission fluid smoke show ), on a sat morning, happened to have a spare one lying around, and only charged me $100 - no complaints here! But yeah, with workshops you need to expect a few delays/issues - often someone will come in with a 'simple job' and it will turn into a massive one, and then push back all the rest of the work. Mine was supposed to be done within a 'couple of weeks' (engine wiring, etc) and it ended up being a few months. oh well. Taking your exhaust manifold off isn't too bad, and as long as theres a bit of meat on the stud sticking out, you shouldn't have much trouble at all (lots of wd40 helps). I kind of weigh up the problem, if I have the spare time to fix it, how serious it is, and if I have the tools needed to do it and lastly if it's a pain in the arse job I've done a gearbox swap before and next time i'll be paying someone else
  15. what did everyone think? could have been good IMO, but not very impressed, after about an hour we were bored enough to leave - the car show off displays were crappy too, better cars in the carpark
  16. lucky! I got waved past an RBT at 12:30 am on friday night (dequitteville tce.) vl calais with 18's, I certainly would have pulled it in for a sus! Very surprised when he stepped back and waved me through.
  17. haha - still don't see your problem. Your car has defectable items and he threatened to defect you... ? Oh noes, you are so hard done by. The cop was just doing his job - if a cop spots an obviously illigal car, there's no reason he can't defect it, doesn't matter about the situation, it's the risk you run by driving a modified car.
  18. Don't really see your problem... he's hardly going to stop directing traffic to give you a defect notice, so he gave you a warning.
  19. Mine is still doing it - when it's cold though, there are no issues. It has quite strong vaccumm as well (~20 on the gauge) so don't know about a leak.
  20. spotted so many skylines tonight haha on the drive home from work... White R33 waiting at the train tracks near mitcham, very nice! White R34 tirning left onto greenhill road .... and a Black R32 turning right White R33 GTR Turning left onto north terrace A white R34 following me down main north road
  21. Was it an actual GTR badge? A while back some car yard (jarvis ford?) were flogging off a ton of mock up style cars, ie tarted up lancers with full evo bodykits, falcons, and v6 commodores with bodykits they were calling 'GTR'.
  22. Yeah mine seems to be doing the same thing, not reving quite so high, but constantly on-off when idling from 600rpm -> 1200rpm. Cleaned out the AFM tonight, and took it apart, resoldered the joints (one was very crappy and broke off when i touched it with a screwdriver!) - but put it back on again, and the farking thing was still doing it. Your O2 sensor is just after the turbo in the dump pipe, I've got a spare one I'm going to try tomorrow, even though the voltages seem to be fine. :
  23. I'm a website developer + graphic designer, can do a good price on that sort of thing. Also can provide almost any jaycar product very cheaply (and even cheaper for group buys).
  24. Good idea SK might look into doing that, as it does sit out a fair way.
