  1. hahahahahaha......ahh the beauty of internet forums.
  2. what was your piston to bore clearance and ring end gaps?
  3. But you only need it to be on when your in the pits and waiting to go out. Once you start racing for the day, you dont need it again after that. Usually the engine oil will hold its temp for ages. Especially when you have so much of it. Unless your oil cooling system is super good and it keeps your oil cool even during a race then id say you would need it inbetween also. Yeh you need an external power supply for any of the decent heating pads as I was suggesting in my first post. You just leave the silicon pad attached to your tank with the plug ziptied up somewhere and then you just plug it in when you want to use it. It weighs bugger all too.
  4. Sorry Ill be more specific, its a Moroso heater pad to wrap around your dry sump tank. Same as what Justin is referring too.
  5. We use one of the american heaters for the speedcar dry sump tank. We just have a converter for it. Plug in your regs 240v and it will step down to 110v for the heater pad. Works well!
  6. Yeh it will no doubt add some whine. But aside from going to 8pk belt over the 6pk I have now, there arent too many other belt types and I dont have much room left to go further out for wider belts.
  7. You weiner! Get all your shit back and finish the damn car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  8. Yeh it would have to be low mounted and further back then normal. I havent really done any proper measuring or checking yet. Just looked at it roughly by eye. If I did do this it means, new custom exhaust manifold, new 4" exhaust, water/oil lines, moving or remaking the catch can, turbo intake, new turbo outlet to charger intake and plumbing up the meth injection system. Plus I gotta redo the supercharger drive system. Im pretty sure the belt is slipping a shit load. Im thinking change to gilmer drive instead of ribbed. So thats a couple small things to consider!
  9. Lol that badge is awesome! No new videos or updates yet sorry. Ive been busy working on the race car and my car is on hold at the moment until I work out what I want to do. Im heavily considering twin charging it....Simply for noise reduction and the new challenge. Ive got a Mr turbo billet turbo at home which we had for the race car at one stage. Its a 900hp T76 somethingarather. So that coupled with the supercharger would make for something interesting surely! The internal debate in my head is still going.....
  10. http://www.japparts.com.au/products/Interc...tercoolers.html check out the last one; GTR Drag intercooler 600x300x100 4" $475 High end intercooler prices are just silly. Not tube and fin though sorry.
  11. +1 for what Daniel said. Does it not blow any blue smoke whilst under load?
  12. Lol I already paid and am on the paid list
  13. That was the best reply I have ever seen Noel! You are my hero!
  14. Rolls I dont think I could incorporate that sort of system unfortunately. The noise is abit different to that on a regular supercharged v8. Because their unit is mounted straight onto the inlet manifold the thickness of the ally dampens the noise from the outlet. But they usually also have an airbox that the intake sucks from unless its old school with carby on top with bug catchers through the bonnet. But most of those use roots blowers which are a little quieter then a twin screw as they dont internally compress. Plus I believe their whine is from the actual gears meshing not the pumping noises of the unit itself. At idle and through most of the rev range the induction noise is really loud and then it gets overpowered by the pulsing outlet noise from the charger which is fine at higher rpm. Its just the idle noise I want to dull down. After a video or two you will know what I mean. Lol nice one Duncan. I have and I dont want to have to re do anything, not yet anyway. Lol if I do have to re do anything then I will consider twin charging it. Maybe in years to come. Build a tough RB30, another custom exhaust manifold to mount something like a gt45 or something around that to try and have a super responsive 1000hp.....
  15. Damn banshees are going to get my car put through the pits
  16. I should see how many dbs it actually is to start with. But with those two mufflers I have now, they dont seem to be enough. I was thinking of using the muffler off the race car which is quite good, but it is huge, possibly similiar in size to what you are describing. Bu l ike you said, it is NA now and its fricken loud whilst cruising and it just gets exponentially louder as the charger starts forcing more and more air through it. My main priority is to try and quiten down the induction noise because it is just rediculous! I still owe a few videos of it going. I havent gotten around to it yet. Hopefully on the weekend
  17. Cheers! Yeh when driving and you give it a boot the exhaust is quite loud. Because the charger induction noise is so damn loud you cant tell just how rowdy the exhaust is...
  18. Saweeeet! Sunday is going to be awesome! So long as I dont get pulled up lol.... Also Noel do you have a contact number for this gonzo character so I may try and get one of these uber resonators please?
  19. Thanks Noel. Am I still good to tag along on Sunday? Just a small update, Im finally in the process of fitting up the power steering pump. I have the pump mounted, just need to plumb up the lines and do the wiring! Then fingers crossed she works and I have some proper power steering again I will get some pictures of all this and try to document it well as I know there are people who have been curious about setting up a EHPS system in a skyline.
  20. Yeh im with ya on the china turbos though. I had one of those super t70's ages ago when I first got my r33. It went fine for a year until the oil supply line got blocked up and starved the turbo of oil. Lol in the end it was the china supplied oil feed that killed the china turbo. I then sold it to my mate who put it on his XE falcon. He pulled the turbo apart and cleaned it out and threw it back together and it went on for another 6 months or so until the nut came off and the wheel destroyed itself! Now I thought that was a good effort for a china turbo! I have to admit that China is getting better and better.
  21. Only just discoverd this. Nice work on the 30det Dunc! Happy to see you achieved what you set out for! Perhaps you lucked out on the china turbos??? Bad batch maybe lol
  22. You could have wrapped the manifold runners and then combined with the heat shield it may have worked to keep heat off the brake/clutch masters. Im sure you will nut out a way to make it work well.
  23. You can use the 25 bracket and pump with the 26 ati balancer. Just requires abit of stuffing around to make sure the belt likes up good. But its no real issue for a half decent mech.
  24. Ahh sweet. New date looks great! I will be there in all my newly supercharged glory! Woot!
