  1. 3-4 is ok.. Looks like I'M IN!! And I'm not driving so I can consume as many frosty beverages as my wallet can afford (admittedly not much at the mo)
  2. yeah.. Trevor is good bloke who will help you out, and can supply any of the parts you should need through suppliers. Proved useful recently when I had some brake related stuff done..
  3. I found adrenaline easy to deal with.. they did the work actually earlier than expected, and seem to have done what I asked.. so no probs there
  4. got your message.. thanx.. will give him a call.. Yeah.. I'm opposite the uni..
  5. who me? I will come if I can get a lift.. I thought 33NIZ was sunny coast?
  6. All I can say is, I'll be laughing as you wither in pain tomorrow.. while my ass remains crisp and fresh
  7. Well ecl.. It may not be mandatory, but it does make it a hell of a lot easier. Because otherwise you have to jack the car up as far as possible, so that the spring is fully extended. And also the bottom mount point is very tensioned (unless you reduce the spring) meaning you can take off the nut, but it's going to be very hard to slide the strut off... p.s. you will probably need a breaker bar on the bottom nut as it's pretty solid (19mm). Also, if you don't take out as much tension as possible in the spring, and you do manage to pop it out, it's likely to shoot somewhere bad, and destroy something. Anyhow, it might be possible without, if the car is jacked very high.. but for $50 for spring compressors, worth getting Ok.. compliance work is done (I hope).. engineered hopefully end of this week / start of next.. on road, middle of next week
  8. my advice is: I wouldn't spend too much on an aussie R31.. $3k max. Buy one, have a little fun for 12 months.. sell it then pay around $8k and get the import.. much more options. You will find if you take a $4k silhouette, and spend $4k+ on it to do all the things you would like to get it up to spec (which might include a turbo conversion), such as upgrading the brakes, upgrading the handling, etc... By which point you have hit $8k. You ever want to sell the car, you probably won't ever get $8k back. You get an import for $8k, it may already after aftermarket suspension, exhaust, maybe even a turbo upgrade. It handles as well as the R31 with all the money you spent on it. You sell it, you will get $8k back in 2-3 years time most likely..
  9. he 'fixes' stuff..
  10. yeah...right .. I need B1.rar
  11. hey strutto.net.. does strutto.net maybe has fast.net on there.. you said "speak to me in a few days".. this was "few days" ago
  12. all done thanks to the above! as stated, the thread actually has a flat bit at the top. I just used an adjustable to grip that in place, and a 14mm spanner at the bottom to turn the nut. All comes apart easily.
  13. I was probably getting at, if you did most things other than the spray work itself.. just removing the car to rolling shell.. and sanding it back to metal. Then paying a professional to do the final prep and paint. $1500 ? $2000? $3000? Of course depending on type type of paint - I understand some are harder to do that others?

 um, I don't see stockholm there.. and you are driving around some streets somewhere
  15. good stuff.. so R32 with RB30DET ? should be a monster.. Yup.. if you have a car like that, gotta give it a good workout, otherwise whats the point.
  16. damn.. so now you are *officially* useless :-s yeah, getting em out was easy..
  17. Assuming you do all the monkey work yourself.. and then buy the paint, how much would you be looking at for a respray like this?
  18. see..they wasn't so hard andrew
  19. I'll give you a flower: :flower: hey josh.. you may actually know the answer to this one: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...newpost&t=64582
  20. I'm having trouble removing the strut tops off the front struts for R32 stock suspension. I have used spring compressors to compress the springs and get them all out of the car. That wasn't too difficult. There is a nut on the top.. but untightening that doesn't appear to do anything, it just keeps going around and around and around. I don't think it's stripped or anything, as it's the same on the other side. So anybody? how do I get the suckers off?? I need to get it off to replace them..
  21. no.. laugh at the token SAU jewish kid..
  22. don't worry, you can be my valantine charly
  23. get brand name computer.. poor petrol over it.. light match.. problem solved.. go buy real computer.
  24. Thanks for the encouragement guys It's going to be fun removing most of the manifold I know. Yeah, once one goes they all tend to. This one is leaking pretty badly. I've traced it along and it goes into just near the thermostat. I only really just got the car.. he replaced one of them as he said it had a coolant leak when i bought it, but obviously not the right one.
