  1. ok, well this thread had to degenerate sooner or later, so it may as well be me that does it  ...the possibilities down this path are endless, but maybe we shouldn't go there...
  2. Gold! i can't believe i missed this thread!! its going to be going for a while i think :ghost: well here is my first attempt: see *that* why they've really been pulling over skylines lately
  3. geez.. you got worse luck than me. Change states man ! victoria has gone mouldy

    Dam Nice

one day you'll run into a homo cop, then you are fugged
  5. I think you'll find that they're all turbo for $18k though bro.. You can get a R32 GTS-T with the basic modifications over here for $13k or so. Stereo? just take it all out man, and put it into whatever car you get here.
  6. 4WD - its not 4WD if its a GTS-T for a start.. then it would be a GTS4, so you will want to check that. I don't believe ABS was available on R32 either (except maybe the later R32 GTR). 4WS is actually HICAS, which is a semi 4WS setup. Its standard on all R32 onwards. auto is a downer, not as much fun or control. Worth less and harder to sell as well.
  7. Well the height needs to be above 100mm at the lowest point. The tint is fine, as its also 30% in Australia. You should be right, as long as the tyres are in good condition, seatbelts will have to be chaged to aussie ones, child restraints will needed to be fitted - and a few minor things. Is it a GTS as in the non-turbo? If it is, you shouldn't have much trouble getting it registered or anything. But as for market value over here, its not going to be worth much - $AUD8k or so? By the time you price in shipping (a couple of $k ?), it may not be worth it. If it was a GTR or highly modified GTS-T then it might be worth bringing here, but otherwise, doesn't seem worth it
  8. Yeah, surf, hilux or something like that isn't such a bad idea. Pick one up fully optioned with the jacked up suspension for under $15k from japan. And lets face it? how much 4WD'ing is a Japanese person going to really be doing? It would have had a very easy life. Some of those Hilux and things I've seen on the mailing lists look tough as... might even get a turbo too. If I wanted something tough, its what i'd go for i reckon.

    Black 350Z

er, why didn't you win? 350z ain't that fast! i think you were in shock my boy
  10. its true.. plenty of 9sec VL drag cars out there that use Autos, and the VL box is like an older version of the 33 box. So that might be your best bet. Can even get a stallie chucked in at the same time
  11. thats where i got mine (the above).. good stickers..
  12. Last i checked, by the time you add in the price of the collars, you may as well just buy nismo or blitz or something as it works out the same.. Yup, good choice.. tuned for lower boost levels (hence keep same c/r), able to flow plenty of power, and not much more lag than stocky. And best of all about 1/2 the price of HKS, etc or a 2nd hand 3037 or something.
  13. Considering i think 1/3 of fatal accidents the driver does not have a seatbelt (contributing to the police state, and justication for booking people for speeding/revenue), i think its fair to enforce. I mean you were kind of lucky, he could have defected you as well and another $125, and the running around involved. Anyhow, another reason not to vote for Bracks election time! Its one of those rules which they can make it up as they see fit, and its really just up to the imagination of the cop "I heard there was a suspicious car in the area, there have been complaints about this car before". Really its basically a "pull over anybody for no reason" card, and its fully legal. It was one of those ones snuck in about 2 years ago, and of course without a whimper from anybody.
  14. You're going to be looking for a while.. Why pick up the lowest possible priced s2 you can find (cheapest for a reason!), when you can get a good s1 for that price? I think its silly buying and the differences are hardly worth it, but its your money.
  15. Lots of people like to speak shit about how they can get "this or that" for less than somebody else... and that is all it is. I'd still like to bring in 1x or 2x 1989 cars before the end of the year if i can at all. No doubt the government will change things, but it would be nice.
  16. Well the engine is standard issue RB25DET, so should be the same as any R33 out there, unless somebody can correct me(? ) nice to see something different.. post some pix when you get it!
  17. The amount of pedestrians killed on Victorias roads last year (which makes up the road toll mind you) was 41 out of 334 road deaths, which is 12%.. in most liklihood either elderly or drunk. The amount of sympathy for somebody who DOESNT LOOK when crossing a road (sober or not) is pretty much zero in my book. **** em i say! While I'm at the lovely TAC site.. i found something else interesting: People killed aged 18-25 in 2003 on the roads: 72 (a 7 year bracket) People aged 40-49: 52 (a 9 year bracket).. not too far off the "deadly" bracket. Drivers over 60 killed: 70 !! Now when you look at the figures.. while there is always the "young drivers are involved in more fatal collisions that any other age" argument - which is true, looking at drivers over 60 is equally bad. Where is the campaign to defect the elderly, cops pulling over old ppl just because a cop wants to??! grr
  18. um, hoses are a mixture..Some are silicon (the best stuff), which isn't cheap. The other is just some stuff that was available in red. Its water hose, which means its even stronger than needed for vacuum hoses. All the hoses i got in melb at a place called Purple Pig (specialising in hoses). Not sure whether they have it up here. I think i remember seeing some silicon hose kits in Autobahn for about $40. Another option. You have to take them off. That involves getting the cover off, and then under there is the screws for the other sides. Take them off, put them on newspaper and start going. You'll need some heavy wet and dry sandpaper to start off with (120 grade or so) and then gradually move to finer and finer stuff (1000) to get the really shiny finish. Autosol is a metal polishing cream which also helps inbetween sands (autobahn, supercheap, kmart, etc). You can also take it to a metal polishing place, that can do it for you, and probably give better results than by hand.
  19. Is it doing it all the time, or just when you start up the climate control or make a change to the settings?? It must be major if its that annoying. Some only do it a tiny bit, and it never worries me that much. I have the relays, which are basically motors which open the vents when you turn up or down the temperature to mix the aircon and heating. Its the sound of them trying to open, and slipping and hence the ticking. There are three of them which control each of the different vents. I can take the ones off shown and can send them to you for $30, let me know via PM.
  20. And hour for a head gasket? hmm, i don't think so! You have to pull the whole head of the engine off. Not majorly hard, but a fair bit of work involved. Closer to the better half of $1000 more like it, as 46n2 is saying
  21. I doubt it would be easy. Its all about what you see in the streets. If you don't see it driving around the streets, you're going to be in trouble when it comes to parts. Even 32's and 34's are a bit more difficult than common as mud 33's. true, but you're the one going to be waiting for 10 weeks without a car, not them!
  22. i'm still waiting for them to reply to my damn email after 2 weeks.. their customer service could do with an improvement!
  23. you could buy my heater box for $40.. it has the relays on it. Then you'll have to pay somebody to pull apart your entire dash to the firewall (or do it yourself) and replace these components, which is about a 6 hour job. you still want to fix it?
  24. predator

    head gasket

inasnt: she's trying to save costs you goon, not build a race car! carlie, you should be able to get it fixed if you are lucky for $500-$800 or so - and assuming no further damage. New motor would be around $1k at least for an RB20DET
