  1. i just hope i can get buy with the minimum - its the extras that could hurt.
  2. hmm.. if mine goes in, and comes out needing a rebuild, i'm driving it off a cliff .. lol
  3. yeah - i guess so.. not sure whether gavin or one of the other guys is doing it. I assume he has other guys to do stuff too ? nex's one is in there now.. he's got a big bill though. I better not get a big bill or i'll cry.
  4. .. like chicken - except really cold chicken.. more fat, less feathers..
  5. i ain't stroking anything ! hmm/... i remember those things too. .that time when you had money in the back for "stuff" .. then along came the r33 and savings went to antarctica where i think they still are hanging around with penguins and stuff.
  6. true.. i am "Mr Plans" .. Never happy with what i got.. i had the plan to buy the r33 12 months before i did.. was so cool for the first year, after that its gone down hill a little Car isn't officially for sale yet.. When it is, i'll post up on here. THinking might start next week, when i can put up "just had all this really expensive crap done to it" ..lol Tomorrow its going in for water pump, timing belt and camgear at gavins. Must make sure i bring the right car down! as i don't drive the r33 to the goldcoast usually.
  7. .. although i guess i can see the attraction, and would love to own one (who wouldn't?) but i dunno.. they're not cheap cars to begin with.
  8. the GTR stories scare me.. everybody goes on about how good GTR are, but when something goes wrong.. bend over and kiss your savings goodbye.
  9. er, it *is* BWCP low 12's would be good.. not in the current R33.. i don't want to spend another $20k on a car that would maybe only get another $5k more than its worth now. but i have other plans i think hatching
  10. hey erin! its late and i feel like i should be doing stuff.. but so can't be bothered.. hmm..
  11. CalaisT3RBO: i saw that.. been on there recently scouting for parts for my RB30E turbo conversion actually.. some guy came around earlier and picked up the 5speed i had.. only advertised it on there on saturday and got a heap of enquiries.
  12. Many things aren't used for their intended use.. but work fine. Many have no issues, and many follow the manufacturers guidelines a little too heavily. More to the point, they probably would prefer you to pay the extra for the intake one. Many people say "yes" and many say "no"... but whatever works works. It worked for me, and seem a few others on the forums here. But if you feel safer with a GTR or the intended "intank" one, change it for one of those.. i'll help you install, now you know how to do it that is most of the work done. The issue here i don't think was the pump failed due to being "intank" or not at all anyhow, it was the pickup falling off. p.s. i'll buy your stock pump in a month or so too
  13. you girl!
  14. LOOKS AROUND ... YOU NO FIGHT ME.. FIGHT *HER* !! Points at Nismogirl
  15. /ME SOCKS CYRICE IN THE JAW INSTEAD (FOR ENCOURAGING VIOLENCE) you wanna fight... there.. lol
  16. they'd be the same as the nismo ones... brisbane punks.. next time you want to see what they look like in a car, go look at my floor. they're good quality.. backing maybe a little bit simple but otherwise good mats.
  17. You could.. but then i'd just get myself unbanned and you'd get into trouble
  18. ahh.. you guys .. whores may come and whores may go.. but who has 12,000 total posts in SAU i'll be around even after you've all bitten dust!!
  19. Mine has been 8 months i think.. i think you stuffed the pickup mate its got to go in exactly the same position as stock and erm, not fall off. How much fuel you have in there?? Even if the pickup has fallen off, if you have 1/4 of a tank it should just suck straight in as when the tank is full its fully submerged Shouldn't be too hard to find.. during daylight with a torch could see inside most of the tank. But i do have skinny arms. ] Did you use a hose on the end to extend the pickup and get the placement right? Some rubber can go funny with petrol and expand, releasing the item - hence the hose clamps tight as buggery Wouldn't be dangerous.. might stop working yes, dangerous no.
  20. GreySky: Thanks for the details of the specs too. Always helps to know what exactly was done when going down this path... and what to discuss with an engine builder. How much roughly for the bottom end work? Think its possible to be done under $2500?? (including forged pistons?) I wouldn't want to go overboard w/ aftermarket rods and maybe just get the stockies checked and prepped.. but something that would stand up to 350rwkw or so would be nice. After pulling the head off the RB30E I got this weekend (free practically), the block looked to be in pretty good condition (on visual inspection anyhow). 200,000km. Didn't realise they were so heavy though!! 200kg or so, just for the block, pistons + sump. And i thought once you had the head, manifolds, etc off you'd be able to pick it up with one person ..nope!!
  21. er.... like this one?? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ighlight=petrol I HATE DESPISE CHAIN MAIL
  22. yeah.. good point about the skyline too. If i was building a "full sik" drift car the last thing i'd be using would be a $20k R33 skyline. Replacements parts/panels/engines/etc too expensive for a start, nevermind the fact that you have to spend a fair whack on them to even get them to suitable drift level. Even then they'll probably going to be half assed compared to a S13 Most of the skylines were build as road going cars that would be fairly track capable - hence "RB" (race bred). That meant they are designed to take a corner and stay on the road, not lose traction. Some people are real retards, trying to make cars into things they're not really designed to do well.
  23. SOLD (about 2 weeks ago). lock thread plz..
  24. A pod is not going to make your car 90db on its own! or even make hardly any difference to the final exhaust noise, which is where the microphone sits when they do the actual test,. and the EPA tests for EMISSIONS not ADR's .. that part is the cops job (supposedly, if they actually knew what they were checking for). The EPA couldn't give two shits whether you had an aftermarket steering wheel or not, or even whether you're pod was made from paper mache' - as long as the emissions at the tail end were within guidelines.
  25. Don't forget the S12 ! Try here for some info: http://www.club-s12.org/ Without that model, the S13 may have never been born. Overlooked by many these days, and contain many of the features found in later Silvia models. Have seen some cool looking ones around. I went to buy one locally.. but it was very destroyed when i looked at it. Was hardly worth it - so i bought an aussie R31. Whilst hardly anything special, where else in the world can you find an RB30E skyline? hmm, ok i think South Africa as well.. anyhow
