  1. depends what you want it for.. To me, having a GTST means there is always something to aim towards, and fine tuning / matching all the little bits and pieces yourself is a challenge where you are always learning. I guess some of the weaknesses in a RWD are almost fun to try and overcome, and it's not easy, so that is why it's such a challenge. I also like the lack of complexity to be honest in a single turbo, single diff, basic drivetrain system.
  2. haha.. I'm just waiting to get my car eng plated and insured so I can drive it properly and crash with immunity How did your build go?? Is your car up and running again?
  3. then again, I haven't been driving anywhere in my skyline for weeks either
  4. yeah.. it seems the actual act of driving the skylines any distance of note is a bit scary for the surfers lappers or milton sitters
  5. yeah.. the reason i don't wash my cars for months is due to the water restrictions.. of course..thats it!
  6. nice pie!
  7. stuck with a gtr for life.. the pain
  8. cool..4wd skids once again
  9. squizbo gets a rebuilt gtr? never..
  10. cooler than cool..
  11. we can take photos around with the skylines nicely framed against.. ..the bare dirt of the dam!
  12. there is also Warwick as well Col.. that's a good run, which is fairly open roads and not too much twisty stuff. Marc organised a bbq day a couple of years back, wasn't bad.
  13. yeah, true, you never know when somebody is going to push themselves too far.. I was up there in the pulsar yesterday.. great fun -- pity wasn't in the 32
  14. what sau needs is a skyline cruise through murwillumbah, down into NSW, across to Byron, and back.. That would be a great run.
  15. where am I ? I have stumbled across this strange 'spam town' - what is this?
  16. It wouldn't be driveable at that power level.. Most FWD struggle to be too driveable once you exceed the power levels for the chasis and get power to the ground.
  17. maybe he was redlining it at idle ? you never know.. skylines are built tough with the higher rev limits in mind, if you don't want to rev it.. go buy a corolla (actually they don't mind sub revs either )
  18. Just got back from this.. one of the best motoring events you could ever go to. I've been to the GP in Melb and things, and for sheer coolness and variety this event would have to top it. Not only do get to see pretty much every classic car you could imagine, for once you actually get to see them race on a nice tight street circuit right up close. And you can just move around to one of the many awesome vantage points throughout the day. Best of all, only $25 for the whole day. It's mostly oldies and classics, and they had pretty much most of the classic Bathurst winners, and most of Brocky's old racers -- and they had a bit of a tribute to him which was an emotional event for the rev heads. Ironically (curiously?) the famous A9X Torana broke down during parade lap, and had to be towed around! Even a Pagani fanging it around there, and people just having a heap of fun. Anyhow, this is still skyline related.. as there are a few shots of the Gibson HR31 and Winfield Bathurst GTR. Was great to see them up in person, and even see under the hood of the infamous GTR, which didn't look all that out there to be honest in terms of GTR. It's only an hour or so from the Goldcoast, so don't miss out next year if you're a fan of some of the classics.
  19. grey.. not heavy gauge
  20. Gold coast isn't really good for live music.. For that you're better off at the Valley in Bris. Actually, I'd recommend everywhere other than surfers but if clubs are your sort of thing, there is a lot of that trash there (and I mean trash )

  22. yeah, they've often not a shelf product - but they've usually got them in like a little box under the counter if you ask, and you can find which one suits.
  23. There is a bit of argument over what is best.. Spray on electrical contact cleaner is probably the best bet.. or some metho with a cotton bud or something - but just be really careful as the element is pretty delicate and can be snapped off. The AFM effects idle, and also rich/lean mixtures, and some oil from the intake sometimes build up over time, which can muck around with that.
  24. clean out the AFM ? Pull it off and check to see if there is a massive lot of oil in the housing there. If so, clean it off ever so carefully. What azzura said as well...
  25. That might help... basically I used an RB20 ECU diagram.. worked out which wires came out of the RB20 to the body loom.. marked them with tape. Then when I got the RB25 wiring, I looked for the same wires coming out of the rb25 ecu, and connected them up to the corresponding r32 body loom wires. Using that method I got through the whole conversion in a few days of mucking about. A professional would have done it much quicker, but it cost me nothing.
