You can be filmed / photographed without your permission out in public areas (beaches are different if you're a sicko pervert) You can also be filmed on your private property, if the person filming is standing out on publicly owned land. Had this incident raised up last week when I went to photograph this guy who was pissed off about his neighbour's shed. The neighbour came out and told me she didn't give me permission to take photos of her / her shed, and I just told her I didn't care and to shove it as I was on the other guy's property. She called the police, but they didn't even bother rocking up before I finished the shoot. But it's perfectly legal... Put me in the same situation as Willem, I would have lapped it up for the camera to make the cops look stupid.

Either you're kidding, or you haven't lived long enough in the hood lol. That Skyline is pretty mint. Use to see the car heaps in Freo, and every time I had to pick a uni mate up from uni as it was located just down the road from him. Has personalised plates, but can't remember what they were. + quick rule based on the show: NEVER ADMIT YOUR SPEED (even if they say they've got you on radar)

Bring Back Geoff Gallop!! He was a f**kin champ!! Alan is a f**khead, especially for lifting up the top of my favourite MLA... or we should try and get Kim Beazley to be Premier, especially since he was the best Prime Minister that Australia never had.

Just do Fitness First in Myaree (near JB Hi-FI on Leach Hwy). I'll be there in the next month or so.

An Amicable Discussion On P Platers And The Law.
MattyP replied to blaizer's topic in Western Australia
I love the Perth Exhaust Centre ad on the opposite page to the story, promoting more power from your car hahaha. Would have been gold if it was on the same page. -
I went there around 12:30-1pm... about 10 cars. Not even show worthy, and some needed a good wash or visit to the panel beaters. I thought it was meant to be a 'show and shine'??

NUP. Since its under $1000 you don't pay anything. From memory it cost $260ish delivered..and that was brand spanking NEW!!! My mate bought one second hand for $400 here...

Anyone Had To Convince Their Parents To Let Them Get Turbo?
MattyP replied to detonation's topic in WA Wasteland
Well since I'm old enough to get stuff without asking permission, I left home in the morning in my Pulsar and came back in my GTR. My dad was outside at the time, looks at me and walks inside. He wasn't very impressed. However the R was kicked out of the garage as they didn't appreciate their cars having to go outside because of my car, so now I don't store it at home which is good as doesn't give me temptations to drive it when I really shouldn't be driving it. -

Made my first ever .gif file. Sorry if it takes a while to load, but well worth it I think. 8k launches by your mate in your car...priceless -
I bought an RX65 from the USA off Ebay. I got flashed couple weeks ago, and it didn't even a beep / alert for half a second before I got a nice big FLASH :S However I was overtaking a truck in the left and a car on the right so maybe that explains the late warning. But then again, I was coming down Greenmount Hill last week with no traffic in front of me and it gave me another stupidly late warning, but luckily I wasn't speeding. Maybe I might take it to Beltronics and get them to modify it to suit Oz multinovas etc. Was told about putting the detector side ways as well recently, so just got to find a bracket for the unit now to suit that positioning.

I was at Arbor Grove Primary today taking photos of Troy Cook, and some aboriginal activities happening at the school. Got a friend who lives on the Coolamon side of Ellenbrook in a 3 x 2. It's on a cottage block, but I think its big enough for a small family if that is one day your plan. In terms of trouble, there is a dodgey side to Ellenbrook (I think lower left of Ellenbrook if you look on map) and you get heaps of thugs outside of the IGA down @ Woodlands but you can just run them over quiet easily. I'll be looking at Ellenbrook or the new Midland housing development around the Railway Workshops once I offload my GTR or if I get a big wad of cash land on my lap hehehe. The Midland housing development looks to be a really good thing too, and some of the shops around Midland are getting better. (~where JB is, and some new cafes close by i.e Cafe de Luca) Oh and you can't forget about the tavern that will ONE DAY be built in Ellenbrook.

Ok, take the number of P plate drivers and multiply it so it equals the number of full licensed drivers on the road. I'm sure the P plate death amount will be way more than the full license drivers. The whole point the Government is making is the waste of young life on the roads. (Do note however, there is likely to be an election in October too so all this stuff is just going to be election winning tactics for Carps when it comes voting time [increase hoon penalties, P plate restrictions etc just watch how the Government treat this now]. As a Road Safety member discussed with me two weeks ago, its not just the deaths but the serious injuries caused from accidents as well that don't get noted. He said kids aren't afraid of dying, but they sure are afraid of drinking food from a straw the rest of their life.
-
What needs to be done is the Road Safety Council, the Government, the RAC and maybe some other car body get together and work out a list of cars and vehicle requirements that P-platers shouldn't be allowed to drive. We know there are some quick N/A 4cylinders out there (Honda S2k, Integra / Civic Type R, Pulsar SSS for example), however they need to take everything into account such as safety / safety features and not just engine size or power to weight. Sometimes I wish I was a ricer still, as there is no such thing as Rice Laws. I'd still have my license if I had more doof than hp at the wheels hahaha. *sigh*. Everyone should start off being ricers imo, and not trying to be Paul Walker. I remember back in the Rollaboyz period, most of the guys were just into stereos and neons. Even TJ was a stereo man himself back around then!! They were good days I must say
-
A kid owning a Civic or Lancer (like mid late 90s), or even a new Hyundai as a first car has done well imo. Don't mind them especially if they're female and hot behind the wheel Something good to look at when I pass them.

Parents these days are just too loose with their kids. They let them roam the streets at night, buy them alcohol for parties etc. When they get busted by the cops, the parents don't believe that their kid could have done it and blame the cops for their heavy tactics. Back when I was in year 8 or 9 I got caught doing graffiti up the road from my house. Some people took down my details, and when I went back home my folks found out and made me go clean it up. After cleaning it up with turps, I returned home and my dad held out two big f*ck off encyclopedias and goes 'Hold them out one in each hand for an hour, if you drop it you start all over again'. Well after that experience I never touched a spray can again!! When I went to buy my first car, I had $5000 to spend. I had eyed off EB Falcons etc but before you know it my folks took the money off me and one day I rocked up home to find a 1986 Ford Meteor. It had a bung boot lit, but besides that had a very good interior and ran well. When I look back, I think what my folks did probably saved me from killing myself in a rwd 6cyl car. Sure I drove my Meteor hard, but there was only so much the car could do (top speed ~130-140). I would put it that the car had less capabilities than the driver, rather than the opposite way of the car having more capabilities than the driver can handle. Education in the schools & the way kids are brought up at home by their folks imo is the ONLY key to getting through to young people about the dangers of driving. I got neighbour up the road who is 18-19, I've known him since he was like in year 1. He use to come up to my house when I had my killer audio system in the Meteor, Volvo and Pulsar and kept saying he wanted to own a Supra or WRX one day. However today he drives a Corrolla, and not because he doesn't want to drive the Corrolla but because he wants to! (he can afford Supra etc as he's in the army) He has never taken drugs, and when he drinks he never gets drunk and the reason why I believe he does all of this is because of the way he was brought up and the values shown to him. I'm sure if I gave him the keys to my Skyline, he probably wouldn't even take it past 4k. Plus if I had a daugher going out with an older guy (like in this case with the 16y/o and 18y/o bf), I wouldn't even let her step foot in that car with him. It's called cheap cars and folks that have no control on their kids. Back when I started driving, 5-6k would get you a 1990 Nissan Pulsar and 12k+ were the Silvias etc. Today 6k will get you a CA18DET 180 or similar. Kids are doing jobs at McDonalds, and when they come to buying their first car they already have enough coin to buy a car like that or better. Even WRXs are dirt cheap, can be picked up for 12-15k now.

Whatever car you drive you have to take precautions. I had a 14k audio system in my Pulsar and an 8k system in my Ford Meteor (that had no alarm, no tint, nothing to secure it), and not once were those cars touched!! * If you've got a stereo, don't play it loud coming into a shopping centre car park (or cp in general). * Hide anything of value that can be taken (don't leave radar detector up on dash, take off stereo face plates, hide other personal belongings). * Park your car where there are lots of people coming in and out from (not on the other side of the shopping centre where no one can see it) But doing the above is no guarntee someone won't touch your car, but AT LEAST its the best precautions you can take. Well what is that purpose of driving a performance car to Autosalon? End of the day whether you agree or not, its just to show off that I too as well drive a performance car (unless that car is your only car then fair enough, but then you could always catch public transport). Then while your car is parked it then becomes a different purpose, one for thieves while your enjoying the show. They know you're not going to be back for a while, so they've got all the time in the world to strip out your car or worse still put it on a tow truck. After the show you come back to your car, see your car stripped out and then pay the $15-20 parking ticket for your time at the show. Owning a performance car you have to weigh up risks (as mentioned from another topic), from home to where ever you take it. If those risks are too high, then don't own a performance car BUT if you still go ahead with it you only have yourself to blame really when shit happens. My suggestion to all Skyline owners...buy a bunky!! It's worth it.

Police media always hype stuff up. No one from the public will question it. They use big words or numbers...'$6000 worth of engine modifications', to us means sfa but to the average joe who doesn't spend anything on their car $6k will sound like lots of money to spend on top of a car. Most of the journalists from those media organisations don't know sfa about cars, and just rely on the Police for correct infomation. I've read Police media releases from hoon incidents etc and there is always something wrong with them. A proper journalist would make sure those facts are correct by checking them with other sources, however I guess with some of them they need the news to be out straight away leaving very little time to check up on the infomation given. How did they find out the 180 had $6,000 worth of engine mods? Ask the dude while he lies half dead in IC to fill out a modification form and show them reciepts? lol. Police want to get a big point across about modified cars, and unfortunately this guy's f*ck up has been use to bring that point across. It probably just had a china exhaust & $20 air filter and thats it.

Dynamat ftw. Cost more, but is the ducks nuts. Like TJ said, any car audio shop should have it. (or something similar)

KYP in Welshpool ftw. They helped me with my motor in the GTR the day it had to go to the pits, and they installed it too for me They've got a website, but best to visit them. I think they're on President St if I recall correctly, but just Google it.
