  2. ok anyone have any experience with the royal purple range got an offer to change gearbox, engine and diff oil with this stuff for $340, heard its pretty much the best, wondering about the gearbox, got redline in at the moment and cant fault it but maybe this is even better

  7. righto, will go for a proper test when i get some cash wet test?
  8. i think that v8 or turbo should be out for red ps but it would be too slack to restrict them for three years so green ps would be alright.
  9. so are you saying it could be a bad thing to have lower compression?
  10. what they did when they did my test (wasnt paying too close attention so didnt get a good look at what the instrument actually was) they had the plugs out and inserted the probe thing with guage on top into each spark hole (real technical! ) and turn the key for about 2 seconds. wasnt 125 exactly on each one but pretty close.
  11. what i had done cost about 20 bucks and took all of 2 minutes, done while the plugs were out.
  12. thanks hippy
  13. again whats blowby, i thought it wasnt too bad to blow a bit of black smoke out the exhaust, thought it was just cause of the big bore piping that these cars have whenever i'm at the workshop watching a car on the dyno waiting outside for mine to go on theres always a lot of smoke coming out under full load. thanks
  14. whats blowby? smoke from exhaust or engine?
  15. i'm now leaning towards the pivot as i can get it cheaper and closer to home plus can gt it installed easier, any feedback on either??
  16. recently got spark plugs changed and did a compression test at the time to find out that compression was 125 across the board! what could be the cause of this and what does it mean? better head gasket?, forged pistons (have no way real way of telling do i?) thanks boys
  17. hi all need some advice on turbo timers by the end of the day.. Pivot super baby timer or Apexi slimline, advantages-disadvantages for both??
  18. PFC all the way, unless you want to really splash out and go motec
  19. happy birthday to you
  20. hi 1. yes on the bottom of the main page with all the states and general automotive discussion, wasteland etc. 2. you can be notified of a new message subscribed threads via email 3. no idea. 4. take it to a reputable workshop and have them look over it with a fine toothed comb and expect to pay a lot if you want to go as far as checking the internals. 5 that sounds just about right for first mods and some say thats enough. (FOOLS) Jim
  21. what about a car that runs in excess of stock boost, will it make a difference for a quick run or does it actually need to be tuned in sort of thing?
  22. no experience but i would would go NOS, i'd think that would give around 50-60rwkw
  23. dunc had a serious missing problem for the last few weeks, got so bad that its doing it at at idle and all the way through all gears, non stop heavy shuddering in the car when it happened but sometimes it ran like nothing was wrong (usually half hour on half hour off if that makes sense) gave my workshop a call and they determined it was probably the plugs as i hadnt changed them since buying the car and dont know when they were last changed. pulled out some pretty filthy looking sparkies and replaced with double platinums gapped at .76 (they said thats close enough to .8) on my way home about 25 mins away from garage and the bloody thing started doing it again, so yesterday morning i thought i'd take it to joe shmoes service station (as my guy has just left for japan for a few weeks, anyone guess what workshop?) he had a look and said he didnt want to touch it due to not having the right equipment and know-how about these kind of cars. anyway to cut a long story short he did have a look and unplug the electronic fuel injection plug from the side of the cover (orange i think) and had a look and as soon as he plugged it back on the missing stopped, took it off again it started missing plugged it back on again and it stopped not too sure if this is the problem as i said it happens on and off and it might have been coincedental that it stopped as soon as he plugged it back on, but i've been driving all weekend without any problems (touch wood) so maybe thats an idea for you James
  24. thats gona get a little smelly isn't it?
  25. yes it does, very handy. more accurate than a secondary guage
