  1. No no, they are really from Newport and are affilliated with the PIMP Magna.
  2. Really? I can quite distinctly hear my turbo. Stock exhaust, stock filter. If I turn the music off I can hear the whine, especially at about 2-3 grand - when the engine is not loud enough and turbo is already spinning. Love it
  3. Is he THAT good? To almost kill YOU? After what I have seen your 31 do seems unlikely.... :devfu:
  4. Neh, just got them cleaned. Nathan did it for me. Changing an air filter this week and will get an exhaust in the next month or so. And then we'll see what's happenning. After the injector cleaning and timing+idle adjustments it almost feels like carby car - no more throttle lag.
  5. Righto, so that's why you need a pull up resistor. Yeah, I was connecting to the single pin cylindrical connector lower down the left strut tower, not the pickup loop.
  6. ...And I bought a car from this man... lol :looney:
  7. Give Quantronics a call. quantronics.com.au - they are in Parramatta.
  8. Actually, speaking of the tachos, what form is the ECU tacho output? Is it the same as a central distributor lead in other cars? The reason I m asking is I was trying to hook up a rev meter to my car recently and according to the manual I needed to use a wire that hangs out next to the O2 sensor connector (that was designed for that purpose). I did that but I was getting the signal that was about 6 times less than the actual rev figure. I guessed it was only a signal from one spark plug, not all of them. Funny thing about doing that is that my tacho was going crazy while I had the meter hooked up. It was showing the right idle but going crazy while revving - it was dropping to zero. It actually looked as though it was working in "reverse" So now I m wondering if I can hook up the device to the ECU... Not trying to confuse the OP
  9. Rigtho, i don't know what I was writing then...
  10. Cool cool, kinda sucks that it looses a bit of flow with this system, however if it's small enough I can live it. What I am wondering now is that how much flow would it loose if the power increases to about 200 kW on a R33 GTST.
  11. Have you got a second muffler or a resonator in your exhaust? Because by the sound of it you don't really need it with the twin tip system.
  12. How were those attached to the exhaust? Was there like a welded joint or something?
  13. How expensive was that to get done? 2 3" mufflers - thats twice the attention I am trying to avoid. I actually wouldn't mind having 2 smallish (like 2") cannons on either side of the car.
  14. I m thinking of getting some sort of "stock look" twin-tip muffler. The options so far are the hi-tech system they have on their website, magnaflow dual-tip system that came up on the forums before or two smaller mufflers stuck together. I m not a big fan of the latter - looks unprofessional. What have people experienced with these systems? Are they as high flow as a cannon and less/more loud?
  15. Just pulled the fuel rail out. What a royal paint in the arse it is!!! I took some pics too...
  16. So it's possible just to disconnect the TB from the plenum without having to split it and hence avoid undoing all those upside down bolts holding the two parts together? Or is it the fuel rail that those pain in the arse bolts hold?
  17. I ll give it a go tonight. I might try and take pictures to post a up a how-to.
  18. Let me get this stright: You need to remove the top plenum cover from the bottom half and raise the whole thing(with the TB still attached up to get the fuel rail out)?
  19. They will most likely have a restriction clause on your license. C'mon people, it's Australia, everything has to be dumb-proof, especially dealing with cops.
  20. There is no freedom of speech on this board. And many others. If the mods don'y like what you said they'll delete it. I am surprised Nick hasn't yet.
  21. Oh no... the postwhores are here .... RUN!!!
  22. I think the terminal velocity is about 150 km/h. Nowhere near the mach. The air slows you down within the first couple of seconds. I ve done it in Wollongong, over the beach. It was awesome. I was screaming "F**K YEAH, YEAH!!!! THIS IS AWESOME!!!". The scariest part for me was the ascent in the plane, it was so small, tightly packed, with a little fiberglass door.... But it was worth it.
  23. Thats a very barberic and illigal way of doing things. They have no right to damage your property whether it conforms to the road regulations or not. The ADRs specify the ride height (or deviance from) in millimetres and a proper way to determine how legal it is is to measure it. I would simply refuse to do it.
