I bought myself a jap catback (polished mild steel). I always thought stainless steel exhaust were a bit of a wank, but I now am having second thoughts about it rusting. Would it make sense to spray the flange joints with some high temperature paint? Any other tips to prevent mild steel units from rusting?

I get about 300-360 km per tank. So far I have replaced the O2 sensor, cleaned the injectors, put a pod filter, adjusted teh timing, regapped the spark plugs to .95. After regapping the plugs the economy is worse. I m thinking i should put it back to .8. If that does not work, i m out of ideas for the economy. Actually I have a bleed valve sitting at about 9 psi. I know that 25DET goes into rich and retarded mode. But does it do that when you are off high boost as well, ie does it run rich ALL the time after sensing high boost?
