    Just a quick...

When I got my R33 I only got 1 key - the silver key with it.. (no plastic).. which happened to only do the doors and the ignition.. So I took it to this locksmith in Richmond on Bridge Rd.. up near the epworth.. and i was lookin at the key rack and they had ones with black plastic around the top.. I thought that looks a bit nicer and was only a couple of bucks more He goes to me: "Go and give that a try, if it doens't work bring it back" I was speaking to him beforehand about the cost of getting one that would do the boot etc.. hes goin ahh bout $100 or something.. I go try it, and it works in the Door lock, ignition, glovebox, and boot! I thought it was a good deal, only ended up costing me like $10 :jump: cHiCaNe
  4. Hey there I just got my AC fixed 2 weeks ago, my compressor died - Compressors tend to go anywhere up to 250 for a 2nd hand one from a wrecker, but can be picked up as cheap as 150.. If you need it checked out, go to a place called "Norms Auto Air" (03) 9876 8611 @ 5/401 Maroondah Hwy Ringwood He's a genuine bloke and will look after you, there are so many sharks out there in the Automotive AC industry!!!!! BTW Tell him chicane with the red R33 who's compressor died sent you
  5. Hi There Makaveli, Sometimes in the morning when driving off I notice a similar thing, when I back off the throttle you can hear it for me its more of a whining/honking sound.. really hard to describe only goes for a short time as well.. not too concerned bout it.. post back with your findings! Cheers chicane :burnout: :burnout:
  6. Cheers Cyric.. would be handy!
  7. Anyone got one of these? I've got some problems with my drivers side headlight, it stops working, I go pop the hood take it out and put it back and its working again no worries! Would be handy to have a diagram of the headlight wiring system (are they seperate circuits for LH and RH headlights)? Cheers Chicane
  8. Hi all, As I couldn't find any definte info on what plugs I should be using in my RB25DE R33 GTS4, I decided I would take a look for myself and see what was in there. The plugs that are in there are: Autolite APP3924 (Autolite Platinum Pro) The plug I pulled out is gapped correctly (to 1.05mm) and is in quite good condition with no fouling - and being a platinum plug I think I will leave them in there.. (Car has done ~65K) Cheers cHiCaNe ........___ ___/_____ |_ _ _ _ _ _| :burnout: :burnout:
  9. Hi all, I plan to change the plugs in my R33 GTS4 tomorrow, was wondering what the correct gap should be? Also what plugs (Part No.) - I will probably just use coppers.. Cheers! cHiCaNe ---EDIT-- Ne1 know what Part No. the RB25DE uses..?
  10. Yeah they are quite different to the GTST, not as beefy.. Twin Pot AFAIk.. The pictures of the rear brakes, fronts are bigger than them! Cheers! chicane
  11. Here are some pix of what im talking bout.. anyone (specially R33 GTS/GTS4 owners) had this problem at all? Found this Painting Calipers how-to - I'll probably do it in a similar way to that.. with a few more steps to get them looking good.. I'll probably do it after I get new pads put in / machining shortly. Cheers, :Pimp: cHiCaNe :burnout:
  12. speaking of regassing, ive got an R33.. takes R134A.. Got it regassed as it started to heat up at the start of last summer.. I use AC only every now and then (robs power) - thought today I would chuck it on AC as it was quite a nice day, and its barely cold
  13. sorry to hear that mate, may it be sorted out asap and as trouble free as possible regs chicane
  14. My r33 GTS4 (non turbo) has horrible fuel economy.. sure i do drive with the foot down a fair bit but even then i get around 16L/100KM.. i havent had it actually "tuned" since ive had it (1year) but i thought the ECU does that itself?
  15. How much do the "white" parker bulbs go for?
  16. Also I think it is time for new pads.. the rotors need machining.. Anyone recommend a good workshop in Melbourne to get this done at? Also a price estimate.. Cheers Chicane
  17. Hi all, Unfortunately on my R33 GTS4 there is some rust on the brake calipers and the wheel stud (bit between the rim and the brakes). Didn't notice it before i got a set of nice 17" rims.. The R33 GTS4 has smaller brakes than the GTST, without the NISSAN writing on them. What I want to do is clean them up, get rid of the rust, and give them a nice coat of paint. I was thinking of using a wire brush to get rid of all the excess, paint them with some rust treatment paint, then give them a coat of high temperature tolerant paint, probably black. Has anyone else had to do this? Any tips or things I should consider before doing this? Thanks a lot, Chicane :Pimp:
  18. My Drivers side mirror doesn't work for the adjustment - it folds in and out OK though - Checked switch on dash looks OK I think they stuffed something when they changed it from convex to flat at compliance :| any tips for the mirror removal
  19. Hi All, Tried to search for an answer, but haven't been able to find it - Basically I want to check my Gearbox Oil level in my 5spd 1993 GTS4 - How do i do this? Cheers cHiCaNe :burnout:
  20. I think what he means by 'stock standard' was an answer to the question 'were the extractors a custom job'..
  21. even sans-snail, i launch and i never get wheel spin, even in wet.. mm GTS4
  22. Np dude ill check it out tomorrow night - cheers
  23. Hi Lenno, I have the manual in front of me at the moment: It's the JPNZ R33 Skyline Drivers Manual.. (mate lent it to me, was in his glovebox when he got the car). Page 57: "Heated Mirrors & Rear Window De-Fogger" The super sonic mirror will heat up to defog the mirrors. Push button, shown to operate super sonic option first mirror will vibrate to remove any water from the mirrors then heater will switch on. If mirror gets old and scratched and isnt working sufficiently contact nissan to have specified mirror replaced. Dont clean mirrors with an abrasive cleaning material" also Pg 51. "Heated Door Mirror" When the Rear De-Fogger is pressed the Heated Mirror System will automatically turn on to melt away any ice on the mirrors. This system will automatically turn itself offafter 15 minutes or you can press the Rear De-Fogger switch again to turn off the system manually. Do not try to use the Power Mirror Function while the mirrors have ice on them, always use the heated mirror system first." Hope this helps!! chicane PS. I have a feeling the reason the mirror isnt working properly is because it was bodged by the compliance people when they changed it to a flat glass mirror.. Grrrrrrrrrr
