I know of a car that ran about 400kw with standard rods for 10 years before they failed. When they failed the ripped in half. But it lasted a long time. I went with brand new rods on my build (nitto's) because they were cheap enough while the engine was apart.

Hks F-con V Pro - E85 Flex Fuel Setup?
Stixbnr32 replied to Stixbnr32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I do not like the fact that I would have to drain the tank to switch. But suppose not the end of the world. -
Hey guys, Is it possible to setup a flex fuel setup with the HKS F-con V Pro ECU? I know there are other requirements for this but that is a big sticking point. Thanks

Same damn good results. The 6speed getrag they do is awesome too.

So Many Torque Split Controller...!
Stixbnr32 replied to cobrAA's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I understand its only in the R32 manual to put it into rearwheel drive and that is when its rolling just turn the key on and off (like a crash start) and it goes into RWD. I did this 2 days ago in my 32 to drop some lines. Great fun with 370kw.... -
Get a good ECU for starters for a GTR. Could be AFM's or harness.

whats an extra 20 odd KW between friends I would say if you are hunting bigger figures in the future go a twin plate nismo.

haha i used to like gate noise but then i didnt like fines and re-cert (in nz). If I was in burnout comp and had pipes i could un-plum i agree they sound the biz. but they have no biz on the road. kids think they are cool. -
A Few Small Question Regarding My Upcoming Efr Build..
Stixbnr32 replied to cobrAA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I have a greddy but yeah it doesnt clear alot of ground. But your car shouldnt be silly low anyway or you wont corners very fast on open roads. it is not an issue on speed bump as your wheels lift it up anyway. I would look at the racefab one though. -
A Few Small Question Regarding My Upcoming Efr Build..
Stixbnr32 replied to cobrAA's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Never I mean never cheap out on the oiling issues on a RB engine. I heard of one build he did remax gears engine failed. He did it again engine failed (well bearings failed). He did HKS pump and it has never failed again. when running massive power even on the street run a good pump - I use Tomei as it is the best. I would recommend. it would only take a split second for that gears to fail on a standard pump even with upgraded gears to run the bearings and cause another pull down. -
R34 Gtr Garrett -5 Turbo Lag, Need Advise
Stixbnr32 replied to baicai's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I see that the new turbo tech is good but some people have a budget want around the 400kw mark and do not want to change front pip manifold, dump pipe, intercooler pipes, Intercooler and BOV. You still can get good results and more than enough power and response with -5's without having to change to a single turbo. that is what i honestly think and achieved with my build. -

well thats good to know. I like that. -
Rating on the Nismo site for Super Coppermix single plate is 420ps. So I would think that it is think around 280kw atw is maxing it.

Actuators are what they came with. Havnt had any problems. Think spring rate is 1bar. Yeah stock BOV's but they are at their limit now apparently. So if I upgrade my injectors I think they will be required as well. -

Problem with stock cooler pipes is they pop off with high boost pressure. It was something we had to do. Its sitting at 1.6bar for 402kw max injectors. 1.4bar is what it is set for the street. -

Ok I am also speaking from my experience. Things you do not need to waste money on. Intercooler - I run 400kw with standard R32 intercooler although i have a hard pipe kit. Things that are needed to make it more responsive. 1) Dump pipes - your tuner should have recommended when doing the turbos. 2) Exhaust - I run 3.5inch (as i said 400kw) 3) Decent tune 4) set of cams to bring those turbos alive 500rpm earlier. I use Tomei Type B poncams but there are others. 5) Lighter forged internals. Brought my turbos on 300ish rpm quicker. You should see a good increase in response. Do not forget a decent oil pump if you do a build with all the supporting mods (as you say). Oh E85 for 400kw.......your tuner is not very good haha. I run that on 98 and that is with 600cc injectors. If I had 700cc's it would be 430 odd. -

R32 Gtr Getrag Conversion
Stixbnr32 replied to Stixbnr32's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have also now talked to someone about in person and they reckon the same. Said also because I run big -5's it will help with response and street driving. I will now seriously consider it. Thanks all. -
