  1. Do you really need a car? Think about saving the mony and giving yourself a year or two then you can buy an expensive toy.

  3. I'm no expert but I would not recomend trying to do allingments by eye. Make sure you know how to adjust camber in a car with wishbone suspension (I presume your talking about a skyline) and rephrase your 3rd paragraph. The sort of questions your asking suggest you should get a shop to do it anyway. The only time I attempted to do any allignment by eye was when I fitted a HICAS lock bar - and that was just so I drive it down the road to get the final allignment professionally. Sorry I could not be more help. Someone more informed will prolly point you in the right direction.
  4. Go the 33! I have not posted on the forums in far too long so I'm catching up on lost time.

  6. They are good for the price, see link below for a thread I started on the Xforce systems about a year ago - heaps of info and a long review. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...topic=54115&hl=
  7. Well I don't consider myself someone for rice but I thank that is cool as. They can do some pretty amazing things with plastics these days. I work in the mining industry, and we use a special plastic liner for abrasive duty equipment and you need diamond cutting tools to get through the stuff. Would not be supprided if we see this idea running around soon.
  8. Yeah, I'd have to say it looks pretty good - something different anyway. It'll turn some heads.
  9. I had the same problem, the ticking noise is the solenoid on the starter. The problem is not enough voltage is getting to the starter. So try a few things. 1) try a battery that you know is good 2) make sure all the battery and earth connections are ok 3) play around with the connections in the back of the starter - make sure everything is cleen and has a good contact. I fixed mine just by doing the above - no problems since.
  10. hrd-hr30, just sit down with a pen and paper till you work it out - SK is right. I had this same conversation 6 months ago and I was one of the people who said "Ahhh... I see now..."
  11. DAMM, I LOST 20 BUCKS!!
  12. Yeah, become an engineer, we get it pretty good (we work for it though). In my job I can do anything from office work in the city to turning a spanner 3km underground in the middle of nowhere. Pay is good (although don't expect to be rich), conditions are very good, the variety of work is incredible, the work is long and mentally draining, but I have a lot of fun as well and its worth it. When your a young engineer in the mining industry (as I am) relationships can be a bit hard to hold onto, because I spend a fair bit of time away from home. We have quite a few mechanics that have become engineers and they usually do well because of their practical skills and experience.
  13. It looks like a uni report (possibly a thesis) so I would take everything in it with a grain of salt. Ultimatly the guy or girl was just trying to get a report together that gets a good mark. I'm not saying it did happen but a bit of number manipulation could have happened. BTW there is a fair bit of usless unrelated info in that report, I hope the supervisor suggests they cut it down. Besides, I don't think dyno run testing of fuel is a very good way to compare fuels.
  14. Good idea, Id buy one.
  15. My unfortunate friend (he owns a silvia) was very impressed to see what model young citiziens skyline owners are. He's used to the "lets do a skid at Aspley maccas" silvia croud. Good to meet a few new faces. So hows about we all do skids at Milton maccas next time?
  16. What about specs???? A friend said he read in a mag, "The last spec sheet I saw from a Japanese magazine said that it had a 3.2 litre V6 with twin electric-spooling turbos making 480 hp, 7 speed getrag gearbox and the new e-4WD system." Anyone know if that is true???
  17. Thanks, for that SK, I was planning on putting one of these together for the PFC. This (and the link) gives me a little more direction. I'll post up my results when I'm done.
  18. Yeah, saw the car in HPI and at the Jamboree, pretty impressive bit of gear. It would be good to see it at a cruise. So who's keen to organise another thursday night drive through the hills?
  19. Well there was a little (evil) part of me that was hoping they were still inside. But they were not, so I'm pretty sure they crashed it then burnt it. I really hope it hurt when they pranged it.
  20. As Nismo girl said "Another one bites the dust". See pic of the car now. Ha Ha.
  21. Hey everyone, I've got good news and bad news: Good news: The car was found. Bad news: It is a puddle of molten metal - supprise, supprise. Coppers found it in the bush around Wacol area (again supprise, supprise). Must have been a big fire, the glass all melted, even the cam cover was a puddle in the engine bay. Really pissed off because the low lifes just took it and floged the crap out of it then burnt it, they did not even bother taking anything from it, (It had a couple of guages, decent stereo and VN Calis mags, extractors, so on). I'm not really supprised, I did not expect it would turn up in working order. Bummer, I had some good times in that car!!! If I ever find out who did it I will make them pay dearly.
  22. As the thread says, my Maroon 1987 NA Vl was stolen Tuesday morning from the Fairfield area in Brisbane, QLD Number plates were 272PXH. It is registered / insured in my name but I gave it to my little sister about 6 months ago (I drive the 33 Skyline remember). Big problem is, when she paid the insurance she renewed only for 3rd party (she thought she was getting fire and theft as well). So now I'm down the value of the car and my sister is finding it almost impossible to get to work and uni. Karma will catch the low life scum who stole it so I don't have too. But that does not get my car back. So I'm offering a $$cash$$ reward (no questions asked) for information leading to the return of the car or conviction of the theif. Thanks all.
  23. I'm no expert but Ther are two ways of looking at if you are a cop: 1) There is nothing in the ADR about atmo venting blow off valves (so I have been told) so they are not specifically illegal. 2) You are not allowed to change the emmision control systems on a car. Changing to an atmo BOV without some compensation programed into the engine managment will certainly change the emissions. So if I got pulled up with a atmo BOV, I would be arguing the ADR point (with a copy of it in from of me) and I'd hope he does not know about the emissions rules. A copy of the ADRs are a great thing (smoke and mirrors if nothing else) when you are pulled over. I agree with the posts above - attitude has so much to do with it in the end. - if your nice to a good cop he probably won't fine you. - if your a wanker to a good cop he WILL fine you. - if your a wanker to a wanker of a cop he will fine you - if your a nice to a wanker of a cop you could be lucky.
