Hey Da_Man, sent you a PM.

Looking for the plastic inner guard liner (splash guard?) that fits up under the front RH guard on a 96 R33 GTST. The liner seems to be in two pieces, i'm after the section that goes forward of the front wheel (i.e. behind the headlight), and wraps under to join up with the front bar. Please PM me if you have one to sell.

Nah Richard, definitely wasn't your GTR, just some spotty little gits in a NA GTS that looked like it had just been rolled a couple of times. This moron decided to change lanes half way round the corner, luckily I had the wanker radar running (seem to need it more n more as the 'nats approaches) so i just got the anchors away in time. I will definitely know the sh*tbox if i see it again, maybe a session of havin his head slammed in his own door jam will help him see the light.

Spotted a complete tosser in a beaten up gunmetal R32 GTS near Woden plaza as it cut me off in the wifes XR6. Hope it wasn't someone on here, cos next time my kids mightn't be in the car and then you're toast....

Ok, just say you had a couple of days to kill just cruising around Sydney looking at imports and 'line performance bits - where would you go? Give us your top 5 (or 4 or 3 whatever) fave places to go for: - imported cars to drool over - import performance and general aftermarket parts - wheels and tyres - second hand imported parts - generally cool places to cruise - places that sell BMX stuff (ok, my son made me throw that one in)

Dude, that's a nice lookin GTR, my stock 33 needed some serious counselling afterwards tho :boohoo: Maybe I should get a Nismo sticker or something so she thinks she's "modified".
-
Which underground? Was probably me, and the serious look would have been the "late for farking work AGAIN" syndrome.. And I managed to scrape the front bar doing one of those stupid "course I can turn that tight without hitting the concrete post" manoevres. :ufo:

Yep.

Ok, here is a fascinating piece of information for ya's. If you are working on your cooling system and some total idiot  forgets to screw the lid back on your coolant recovery tank and you drive off and lose it, the lid off a Fountain Soy Sauce bottle fits perfectly. As an added bonus it's even a much nicer gold colour than the original. Why not use barbecue or some other such sauce variety you ask? It's a japanese car...... Ok, kill me now.......

There freight prices seem to be a bit hit and miss. Their web site says that clear indicator lenses are 0.1 - 0.3kgs which is 1200yen ($15au), they charged me 1500yen ($19au). Now they have quoted you $23? What the.....? Anyways, still a lot cheaper than the rest.

Saw a sweet silver GTR on the Monaro Hwy this morning. Plate was something like YGT-00R, is that anyone on here?
-
Ok, they turned up on Monday, so that's a week from ordering online to delivery. Not bad for parts out of Japan. Cost was $64 all up and no import tax. Now just gotta figure out how to put the little buggers in......

A mechanic friend of mine told me a couple of years ago that his workshop had been doing a roaring trade in fuel injection servicing ever since Gull opened at Hume. He reckoned that the fuel distributors used to drain off the bottom section of their bulk tanks and re-refine the fuel cos it was so full of sediment and crap, until Gull and a few others came along and offered to buy it at greatly discounted rates (complete with the nasty bits). That's how they could undercut everybody else. Apparently Woolies were originally doing the same, but have since started sourcing their fuel through Caltex. Then there's the whole ethanol story..... BP Ultimate for me baby!

How to get rid of that annoying F*cking beep!
JD_R33 replied to JAPCAB's topic in General Maintenance
You can get rid of the beep from the key left in the ignition and door open without also killing the lights on reminder beep. You will need to remove the plastic covers from above and below the steering wheel (6 screws from memory) and unplug the connector leading into the side of the ignition switch. Best to test it before putting everything back together, just in case you have disconnected the courtesy light on the key hole by mistake. Now if someone could just tell me exactly where to find the little bastard of a box that beeps when you put it into reverse...... -
I have just ordered some from perfectrun.com.au (thanks Lazza), came to $64au including freight. Even with the likely 15% import duty, still way ahead of the $120 + freight most other places seem to be charging. I'll let you know how they go, in case anybody else is considering buying some.

Thanks for your help guys, I actually drove past Revel on the weekend and wondered if they would be any good. I'll give em a try.

Has anybody found a place in the ACT that actually knows how to properly wheel align a Skyline? I made the mistake of taking mine to BoB F**king Jane F**king Tmart (yes, yes I know, but I had to get it done in a hurray before driving to Sydney, and they were the only ones that didn't seem to have any customers :boohoo: ) Anyways, the car pulls to the left now and they didn't even bother to centre the godamn steering wheel. Don't think I could be bothered going back there, cos even if they did try to fix it, they clearly have no idea what they're doing (I should have realised when they didn't offer me a printout with the alignment specs). Would be great if someone knows a decent place that's open Saturdays too. BTW - how many of you still have your HICAS running?
-
Anybody know who stocks these in the ACT, and doesn't charge the proverbial? Or am I better off ordering from someone like Justjap?
-
Ahhh, the psycho bogan. Now this guy will probably want to do all of the above mentioned anyway, just cause you and your superior veee-hicle happened to exist in the same time and place as him and his bogandore. That's why many a savvy motorist has taken up the sport of baseball and conveniently carries their equipment in the car, just for those special occasions when someone can't take a hint. :devil2: Or of course, there's the ignoring him option.........
-
Here's what I do when being pestered by Bogans. Look in their direction briefly once to acknowledge that you have noticed them. Then look straight ahead and raise your right hand up to your forehead with a clenched fist and make several forward and backward motions. The Bogans will then have to go away and find somebody with a complete brain to ask what this meant. A normal person will able to clue them up to the fact that "He was saying that you're a Dickhead", at which time they will get very angry, but i'm long gone and quite probably still laughing. Well it works for me.......

Umm...if the stock silver gtst was parked across the road from the convention centre, that would be mine. I work in the building behind AMSA at the moment so it's been in that carpark for a week or so - just hanging out for the monthly parking ticket to expire so I can start parking in the undercover joint across the road....

Just wondering if anybody has a Nokia Bluetooth handsfree kit installed in their Skyline, and if so, where did the installer put the main unit, speaker, microphone and control button? Looking to install one myself, but have no idea where the best spots are to locate the various bits and pieces. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hey, Slim chance I know, but just wondering if anybody knew if there was an R33 in any of the wrecking yards around ACT/Qbn. I just realised mine is missing the plastic cover off the engine bay fuse box, and was quoted $55 plus freight by Jap Imports which is bulls**t for a little hunk of plastic. Help!!!!!
-
Hi folks, Just discovered that my '96 R33 GTST is missing the plastic cover from the large fuse box mounted on the front left side of the engine bay. Would appreciate it if anybody either has one to sell, or can point me in the right direction for a suitable wrecker etc.
-
BTW - just downloaded the R33 engine manual in PDF format. I guess most of you would already have it, but if anyone wants a copy just let me know and we'll arrange something.
