  1. Hi All, so I decided to remove my carbon canister and after a bit of research on internet I found various information on how it is done . At the end this lead to confusion so below is how I have done it, is this correct ? Take the canister out which has three pipes plugged into it , 1 from manifold vacume , one coming from drive firewall(along with brake lines) and one from passenger firewall. I removed the canister and connected the line from driver side to the line from passenger side thus loop it back in, I guess this is ok as by the time fuel vapours or pressurise , then it takes the route back to the tank so reducing the pressure? I initially left both of those pipes to vent to air and could smell strong fuel vapour every now and then . I have seen some saying then remove both cables all the way to the tank and simply leave a small filter on it on the tank , but which side? which one is return ? in addition , I have changed my vacume rubber lines with silicon line bought from ebay . I have replaced the vacume lines that are circled in red and all of it goes back to the manifold. The picture below is not from my car and it is missing the port sticking out on the inlet pipe which I have circled in red. I think all of them are simply vacume pipe and not fuel/oil but want to get your view. one is connected to the fuel pressure regulator vacume port i think as per the picture below . Many thanks for your help
  2. so if you do recirc then it should be ok ? simply connect it to the turbo inlet pipe ?
  3. So guess what u guys are saying is bov going to leak and it is by design?
  4. well I did and as you said it only opens on high pressure ( high rpm range). I want it to come on from 2k . I did adjust the screw in all the way and still it was sucking air in , maybe it is by design but I guess that messes the air.fuell ratio as you are getting extra air from the inlet port? I am currently having misfire and trying to find the cause and this being one of it
  5. @GTSBoy Many thanks for the explanation . Yes I am referring to the BOV or in here is it referred to as dump valve . I have installed the blitz which is a direct replacement for the manufacture bov. If you look at the pic below. 1. Area highlighted in red is connected to the base of the inlet which is connnected to the inlet manifold pipe . It has no paper washer between the too metals but it doesn't seem to leak . 2.Area highlighted in black is connected to the vacume ( negative pressure) which I think opens the diaphragm and pulls the bov piston up to let the excessive pressure out. 3. the area highlighted in green is where I am getting vacume on, at idle and across rev range until the bov opens and vents the excess of air in which case it then blocks rather than suck air in . I know with AFM you are not meant to have BOV as it can run rich between gears but I am ok with that rather my issue is why is it sucking air in . Is the diaphragm gone so the vacume is sucking air in ?
  6. Dump valve is sucking air in on idle Now i know the dump valve is connected from its base to the inlet manifold which provides the positive pressure feedback You also have a port/ nozzle or whatever you want to call it at top of the dump valve which is connected to the vacum I think that port sucks the diaphgram in pulling piston up and letting air out when needed Now the issue is if you hold your hand or even a tissue paper on the venture of the dump valve it is vacumming and sucking air in Makes sense?
  7. Hi, my blitz base is on the manifold intake as replacement for the original dump valve and the port at the back of it to the vacume. today i noticed the dump valve is sucking air in as if the blitz is sucking air in from the dump valve port Also i have no base washer would that matter that much ? base to inlet manifold. many thanks
  8. I have read few posts and all suggesting r34 gtt has lsd , right ? the way to verify would be jack up the back and spin one wheel ? but I guess that may give false results as lsd kicks in at certain power or range if i am correct ?
  9. something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/HKS-Silver-Universal-SSQV-SQV-Turbo-Pull-type-Blow-Off-Valve-Bov-with-Adapter-/261645510396?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3ceb49a6fc
  10. that is the issue mate. I have been member number of forums and when I help I try to or if I don't have anything nice to say then I will be quite . they way you have it in mind is this website been wiki and no one is allowed to ask a single question unless the read the entire net which is just silly . I didn't know the pipe name but someone pointed out so then soon read about it and having knowledge of cars did make sense of it . and of course the whole relocating etc came from searching and pasting it here to see if there is any other option. But seems as if I am talking to a brick wall that keeps telling me to search and that is all i get . i get it mate and do search but doesn't harm if some people being nice and put useful posts up rather than blah blah bla anyway thanks for the input . I probably get the hks recir valve that also have the hissing sound
  11. To be honest i haven't had that many funny attitude on most forums making me think why podt here All i see is sarcasm ffs. Maybe u need to be a paid member!
  12. Some of my questions as said was for confirmation of what was read But cool mate no more replies will work it out. What annoys other is thinking i am lazy and I can't be as i want to do it all or most diy and you can't fo it unless you know what you are doing But then u need help everyone now and then which most people on this forum are brilliant at giving apart from few odd one
  13. I have mate don't know why some don't get it So many choices wanted to get further views but of course all posts are currently joke
  14. And to answer those sarcastic pists 4k is in pounds which is around 6-7 k in $ That is just begging and rather hoped for useful advice
  15. Rich meaning more fuel between gears and idle due to maf counting air for it What i am trying to address is keep the sound of bov . Hate it when it is silent Mhave read around and most people have done what i suggested and refer to it as blow through setup Some say it shortens the life of maf due to intake pressure I posted here in case i could get any other ideasapart from sarcastic replies
  16. I know and want to do it in stages rather than bang 4k
  17. ok , I have been reading around and know why people are saying to put the original or at least recirculating valve back but i love the sound of the blow off I know this means richer engine but how much ? if I want to keep maf , can i relocate maf close to intake or is that silly idea? no one has ever done this and my question would be why not just relocate it ? sorry if this sounds daft but not sure really
  18. More or less assurance but i get it no need for that
  19. No i aint Have spent more than 5 hours reading just today and asked as there are so many options tons I am inclined toward gt30 but seen some others and hybrid turbos etc Too much info and wanted to see what people think
  20. Wtf , i have spent few hours and read all but simply ask for some views Ffs this is a forum and not asking to be spoon fed
  21. Hi All, I have been reading around for a while to try and figure out my next mods. I like something around 500bhp from fly which i think would be around 400 at wheel, right ? I don't want to go forge or change cams at this stage . I have seen gt35,30,28 and number of others but not sure what is best for me . everyone has a different opinion reading around . what would you get and what is the max power from the turbo at what psi ? I think gt30 is low mount which is good but gt35 or other are high mount and if i was to run gt 35 , I think it will be very lazy as I will be running it at a very low boost , right ? I think minimum mod to get to 500 bhp is : 550 or above injectors bigger intercooler ecu ( link 4) turbo . and possibly manifold if it is not straight bolt on as most people say gt30 is . am i right ?can i expect safe 500bhp from the car with the above cost and mod ? if I was to do this in stages and buy the turbo and do no remap but run it at low boost , will it work ? many thanks
