  1. In my opinion, shit ass, and stupid movies like fast and furious and games like nfsu just make people want to street race more and gives them ideas. nfsu not so much though...
  2. i used to go to the runs, used to love it, now i think it's just unsafe and damn stupid. Showing off your car at the actual meet before they move off to the races is one thing, racing is a completely different thing, so yea. Now, i can see that the import community and the skyline community is going to get slammed for this, P platers even more so...
  3. can probably ask around, i know a few events organisers and stuff. So i'll try and get somethin
  4. yea there's too many trouble makers on george st, well, anywhere now :| na im kiddin. Just check out some bars and clubs etc, depends on what you're into
  5. yea dude if you need bouncers or anythin then let us know, a good mate of mine is 2IC in the northern beaches section of a large security company (even though they cover heaps more). Or, if you want to hire out a large "venue" (with security provided), then let me know, my dad is the director of the ashfielf polish club (no you don't have to be polish ) Anyway, the club always makes sure there is atleast 1 guard per 50 people, that's kinda a bare minimum. And yea, there's a bar there too and sound setup etc. The main hall is good for around 5-600 people, there is a smaller one, both have bars, dance floors, sound setup etc.
  6. yea spotted silver gts-t's car on kingsgrove road yesterday while i was waiting for work to open
  7. 4 BOV's!?!?!? WTF? I've heard of 4 before, but it was damn stupid and i didn't really believe it. But yea, i guess they must be uhh, really, cautious about, uhh, backblow etc ?? If you have checked everything else, then (this might sound stupid, but worth a try), check the BOV's themselves, perhaps one of them "carked it", and somehow got "stuck open", or is just really "loose". Not entirely sure if that's possible, but worth checking i guess
  8. yea i found a place where you can pick up N1 blocks for a decent price, so i guess i should start from there rather than a full N1 engine. So tell me, would it be possible to bolt an N1 block onto an R34 GT-R head, and get all the "performance gains" you get out of an R34 RB26 with the minimal mods? If i get around to it, i'll be interested in slowly working my way up. Slowly modding up by getting things than can be used in high power applications but also add the nice power gains early on, e.g intercooler, exhaust, pod filters, ECU, cam gears etc
  9. i was thinking either the factory fuel cut, or, if that's been bypassed, then could be lack of fuel etc etc
  10. so the rods are definately forged? Either way, if i land an N1 engine, the pistons are making way for a forged set, high power or no high power (if the N1 pistons aren't forged), for reliability's sake
  11. if the stock manufolds are restrictive why don't you just modify them? If that's too much of a problem, then just buy some new aftermarket ones.
  12. kinda, are the internals forged at all or...? Im trying to get a rough guage of the strength etc, and whether an upgrade to aftermarket forged sets like HKS or JUN forged pistons would be worth while etc
  13. Are there any more detailed specs on the R34 and R33 N1 spec engines? e.g pistons, cams, A:F ration, cam lift and duration, redline, basically how much power they can handle on stock internals (safely), and stuff like that. Can anyone please help? Because sofar im just getting basic specs and dimensions that aren't getting me anywhere quickly
  14. yea RIP to the three in the car. It wasn't the owner of the car who was driving, it was his son and two friends. I really do think more track days should be organised to keep the urge to floor it on the streets to a minimum (as suggested by someone else previously in this topic). Have like track days in each city, drift, drag and circuit, and have cruises, say, sydney to wollongong, or nowra, or something.
  15. Is anandale in sydney? :S Anyway, i've decided that i will probably go with prestige motorsport and a local place to get it complied.
  16. not sure if this has been posted about before or not, cos i just glanced at all those posts. if you REALLY want to strip some weight down, remove the carpets and sound deadening, there's like 30kg to be saved there. I don't see why you would want to reduce weight that drastically if it isn't going to be used on the track, but still, having a light car would be nice. Also, lexan (?) side windows, carbon-kevlar seats, CF dash, CF bonnet, CF boot, try and replace as much as you can with CF or carbon-kevlar. Also, a titanium exhaust reduces weight quite allot. I think it weighs something like a third of the weight of a normal stainless steel exhaust, and there are a few places you can get full titanium exhausts around in oz. But all this does depend on how much money you have to tinker with. Also, look at what is essential when it comes to electronics. If it's not needed, or you can do without, boot it out. All those wiring looms and what not can get rather heavy. Give the rear seats a boot too, unless you're planning on using that ( ) :sperm: Also, look at getting yourself a set of Rays Volk range of rims. Pretty much all of those rims are forged.
  17. when importing the car through, say, prestige, will you get the contacts to cgl when you initiate the import process or do you have to contact them yourself? If so, can anyone please give me cgl's contact details?
  18. thanks for that. I'm just a bit iffy about it, i feel like i don't get such a wide range of choice with it. Is there any help at all i can get with registering/complying and importing a 15 year old car? Not just a GTR, but also a Z32 300ZX or a GTS-4
  19. basically im willing to spend up to 25k, tops. I don't want to look for local ones because they have more than likely been thrashed. I found one for sale(local one) for 19k, and it's barely running, whereas i found one in rather good condition, very lightly modified for 16k. This isn't counting compliance, stamp duty, rego, import fees etc. I just need to start working out all the costs and what not to get it running and on the road. I know i have to be weary of such cheap GT-R's online, but even if it isn't running at 100% i'm sure it wouldn't cost too much getting it up and running again. I'm probably going to buy through prestige motorsport, they seem pretty trustworthy and don't ask much for their service. They are also user/consumer friendly. Can anyone reccommend any good compliance workshops to do R32 GT-R's which are over 15 years old? Or one that can do both 15 years and one's under the SEVS rules?
  20. Hey all, im basically new to all this importing bizz, and im looking to (hopefully) import an 89 model R32 GT-R, possibly modified. What are the things i have to look out for when complying and bringing in an R32 under the 15 year rule, especially when modified? Also, i was wondering if anyone could recommend a particular workshop that complies R32 GT-R's which are over 15 years old? I'd like it as cheap as possible, but i also want quality, so i understand that there must be some comprimise between the two to get the best possible result. So, any help guys? Thanks.
