  1. The black plugs are prolly cuz its running rich now due to lack of intake air because either one of your turbos let go or like b4 a pipe has come loose
  2. I havent had the collar done yet as the rest of the engine is still not finished and paid for. Im outta money at the moment as i just forked out $10500+ tot he panel beater. Will come soon though, im convinced to get it done for peace of mind. Deren
  3. I do my filter and oil every 5,000 km's. Thats what we do on every car at work. I think its necessary to keep your engine as healthy as possible
  4. Ok well hopefully its a copper washer like previously mentioned. Its a prick of a job. If your mechanically minded and have lots of patience you can do it yourself. However before you wipe off any oil make sure you work out exactly where it is coming from once you remove a few pipes etc and have a clear view of the situation Just make sure you get to the actual source of the leak and not what the most oil is sitting on. Deren
  5. I was thinking the cooling system cleaner you can buy. Your probably right though, might not be strong enough to disolve the oil..
  6. Otherwise known as a sender unit. It works on resistance. Could either be the gauge or the sender.
  7. Speedo is mechanical so probably not. Change the cable and se how you go. $90 odd dollars from Nissan.
  8. Could always use a cooling system flush, run it for a awhile then flush it out thru your heater hose, make sure the heater is switched to hot, possibly need the ignition 'on' cuz its climate control. Make sure you select full hot. Just use a garden hose with no end on it and push it up the rubber heater hose once you disconnect it from the head or heat exchanger. Deren
  9. With the engine running drip some water onto the belts. If the noise goes away its the belts. Without the clutch locked up try spining the fan to see if it makes any noise. Clutch will lock up when its hot enough. More than likely a squeaking belt. Deren
  10. Seeping what exactly? Oil or water or charge air?
  11. Will do mate, i appreciate the positive feedback/support
  12. smaller means more restrictive for air flow but not sure how bigger diff it makes, id go for the coarse mesh personally. Its quite coarse on the stock bumpers on GTR's
  13. I have a few stock R32 GTR turbos here. Some have A/R.42 M24 1-1 and another has the same but with 1-2 on the end instead of 1-1. What does this mean? Any ideas? Cheers, Deren
  14. if you can give me the vin for your car i can tell you if its the same part as for mine...
  15. Ok i just saw his site. Lets just say it will be a tie. Very impressed
  16. Yeah im modifying tastefully along the way, rebuilt balanced engine with forged pistons, rebuilt turbos, rebuilt clutch, etc everything that needs attention (or doesnt) will receive it Basically it'll be like day one but with a change here or there for the better... Just saw it now actually, It'll be home by the end of the week. I'll post up heaps of pics then. Perhaps i can compete with this silvia dude for prefectionism. I can assure you i will win hands down, im far too sick in the mind not to LOL. The level of detail i am going to will just make most people go 'why are you bothering?' Deren
  17. Sounds all too familiar. DIY servicing, can be cheap, can be expensive..
  18. Worn bushes can make a variety of noises, tho usually a knocking noise depending on which bush it is. Get under the car and go over all your bushes with a torch and a pry bar making sure you flex them enough to see any cracks or sloppyness.
  19. There is a thread on part numbers from BSC. They are the cheapest place to buy them from. The Nissan ones are quite expensive from memory. Search for the thread and call BSC
  20. Do they use those pumps on high performance built engines?
  21. I wont be doing much revving at all seeing as my engine not to mention the whole car is completely stripped into about a million pieces. Thanks for that contact 98SKY, cheers. Abo bob: i thought so too. Thanks for the info mate
  22. R33 gts-t's are taxi's too
  23. I was planning to get JHH in woodridge to do the oil pump collar for me. However they can't have it done now till after christmas. Im using the standard oil pump and he thinks its not necessary to do the mod when using the standard pump. What do u all think? GTRgeoff says its a must and im pretty much 99% sure i'll do it but now this has thrown a spanner in the works. Where else in brisbane do they regularly do this mod? I dont want to use the Jun collar as they are more expensive. Thanks in advance, Deren
  24. I found an awesome tool at autobarn i think it was (of all places) its a metal band style tool but with a threaded adjustor to tighten it once you have it slipped onto the filter. Works a treat. By the way your not supposed to tighten as tight as you can with your hand. You'll just have the same problem next time. Spin it till it grabs then nip it up just a little more, till its firm but not over tight. Check for leaks after you start the engine.
  25. Umm like i said once before you have to remove a fair deal of stuff to even get a sponge in anywhere so its kinda hard to do a decent job unless you plan on removing things.. This time round it will be absolutely immaculate down to every single little original detail You may have noticed im a little self absorbed in my own obsessive compulsive nature LOL
