  1. We have m.s.t. and s.s.t. at work it's 101.6 mm o/d (4") and 1.6 mm or 16# thick (for exhaust systems) 70mm would be 2 3/4" o/d. And the same thickness. Most stuff to do with heating and flues is 304 s/s 0.7mm thick because of its heat transfer properties. We sell it by the metre in s/s and m/s at work (the 16#) If you know what you want and let me know will be cost price:-) or Jarrahdale heating and cooling or perhaps kounis metal industries have the crimped lapped and swaged 0.7mm at God only knows what price. Will post a pic of the 0.7 crimped and swaged from my heater.
  2. Insane. The tubing system should be 0.7mm s/s crimped and swaged. Dual 45* off the main flu would be better than a 90* t piece for draw. If it's running off at 90*. A dogs leg in the insulated flu section would help the heat stay downstairs and run off to the rooms better. The storm water pipe would melt and should never be used for this application off a wood heater. 0.7 s/s crimped and swaged inside insulated through the walls and roof. The storm water pipe would only be good for a reverse cycle system and is totally inappropriate for a wood heater.
  3. Post some pics when you've finished? The work you have done sounds top notch. Wouldn't expect anything else after seeing the engine fit and engine bay pics. You're a animal!
  4. Is anyone going to the roll on racing tomorrow night?
  5. My mate Daniel had one about 20 yrs ago was a sweet ride 2.4 bored to 2.6 with side drafts. Black and original. He swapped it for a cbr and a few grand cash. He wishes he had a time machiene!
  6. Started watching the Wangan. Ghost-z lol. Way better than foxtel or tele though!
  7. Did u have to hit 5th gear? I was about 6500rpm in 4th over the line?
  8. At least you can lauch it! I was crap out the holeshot and had to run everyone down. There were bugger all cars there last week on skyline night so got 5 runs in. Would be a worry to cane it with a fully cold drive train. Xy gtho, charger 6 pack and monaros all ran 14.4 stock from the factory. Pretty good at under half the litres. Show us your Nissan! Well done mate!
  9. Thanks. Would assume it's 0.7 s/s crimped and swaged. I put a 1/2 inch thick flange in the roof split it down the centre and mounted it off the rafters so the top section of the flue had a mounting base to support the weight off the gyprock then a lead flashing on the roof under the tiles externally and 1/2" needle felt glass to insulate the heat from the gyprock under the flange inside. What you've done sounds great with the ventilation around the base and sides. Animal d.i.y. Show us your massive manifold and n/a exhaust.
  10. Still don't get it?
  11. If you check out the rear muffler you want on the magnaflow website I can get you a price on the part number. From super cat converters in Wangara. Will have all the dimensions there. Easiest way would be to measure what you have find one that's similar and has a I/d inlet on it slot it and use a accuseal clamp. You would only have to relocate the rear hanger bracket then?
  12. Damn those Germans and their go faster technology. It's called a autobahn Aussies!
  13. Haha sheet metal work 101, watch for falling debris! Will be worth it once you've finished. Full helicopter all winter long.
  14. I noticed some pics up on the forum but they have a broken line through them?
  15. Awesome. Nice car at 8:00am beast at 5:00pm
  16. He aligned it the same day they had the machiene calibrated so is all good now. What do you do for work/job?
  17. I got 2 sets of front castor arm bushes before my mate Dave measured them to realise they are adjustables off a 34. Show us your actual mechanic! And Frankenstein car!
  18. Could take the d-max down if I asked the boss! Lol. Lack of boost night!
  19. Does it have the hicas or a lockout?
  20. The boost psi would be the determing factor from what it needs to push out. I'm only 340rwhp at nearly 18psi and the 3 1/2" fluttered firrrrrrrt pop bang. Doesn't really fart and pop now unless you heel toe the down shifts at high rpm. Pointless owning a skyline without a bit of noise!
  21. What rwhp? Does it have a spit dump pipe? Mine had a 3" to 3 1/2" inch when I got it so I just went 3" straight through after the split dump with a 100cell cat skinny long front and fat short rear absorption types. 110kph is about 3000rpm in 5th it planes out reasonsbly quiet but is no cruiser and has nice idle sound. The xr8 is twin 2 1/2" absorptions with 400cell cats and planes out pretty good cruising also and is quiet but meaty at idle. Depends on what you want. So only advice and didn't really answer the question. [emoji16]
  22. I just used magnaflow stuff because I got it at cost through work. Does it have a cat in the system? If there is no cat I would definitely go with a reactive rear not a absorptive muffler. I recall seeing a really good looking Lukey muffler tucked away really nice and neat in this thread a while ago?
  23. Won't be able to make it (bummer) would like to have another crack at the tree. Show us your reaction times. 11hr day and just got home from bmx. Toasted:-(
  24. Plugs and Muffs. When there is a heap in a row. Whoops, ear plugs and ear Muffs. nothing to do with strippers.
