  1. At this rate, I can only imagine the rampant profiteering that will be happening to these cars 8/9 years from now
  2. Pay for Japanese paperwork check from businesses like Japanese Odometer Check https://www.facebook.com/Japanese.Odometercheck This will provide u with a auction sheet and de-registration certificate. And of course usual pre- purchase checks. On the other hand, sesh have prices for bnr34's have soared!!
  3. please excuse the slight hijack, but can anyone tell me who made this front pipe?
  4. http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/guildford/cars-vans-utes/nissan-skyline-r34-v-spec-1999-real-collection-condition-/1081528681 Has anyone seen this car? What got my attention is the pictures used are all from the global auto japan website, EXCEPT the engine bay pic http://www.global-auto.ne.jp/stock/public_stock_detail.php?entry=0315.dat&model=BNR34 so if its the same car, it lost its S1 engine on its way down under?
  5. sorry to revive an old post, however did you ever resolve this? My bnr34 seems to make a sound i believe is similar to yours, except it will only do it when throttle is jabed hard and engine is on full boost high in the rev range. pretty much anything engine related, tune, something loose possibly, has being elimnated so i am really lost! the noise can only be heard from inside, not outside the car. when you had the sound, did it sound like it was coming from the middle of the firewall area/from engine bay?
  6. Vspec suspension also has lower springs (height)
  7. There's a Perth skylines owners group cruise on July 18th
  8. Does anyone know how much is a racepace equal length front pipe?
  9. skyline episode wont be airing till tomorrow
  10. If the price of this Mspec is within your budget, have a look at this one that just popped up for sale in Perth. http://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/456380-wa-for-sale-99-r34-gtr-silver-lots-of-extras/#entry7528876
  11. it would be a real eye opener to see R grade or average condition ones go for prices of good examples now! i can already see some serious profiteering occuring....
  12. I went to have a closer look at this car on the weekend. where do i start. in short this car's condition DOESNT reflect the km's travelled. its showing its age and is more worn. just a few things i spotted were: - paint isnt in the best condition, looks like its spent alot of time in the aussie sun, for example the rear wing blade is faded and starting to chip - missing front diffuser, i didnt ask if it was just removed and stored away or not, but i assume its missing - its riding on coilovers (bilsteins) so it doesnt have its m-spec special shock absorbers anymore - the leather interior is worn, lots of cracks and drivers seat particularly worn - front bar left hand side looks like brake fluid may have spilt over it?? there is a stain there - steering wheel is much more worn out in appearance for its km (my steering wheel has done nearly double the km's but much less worn in appearance - car doesnt have factory floor mats, the floor mats appear to be one of those ebay made ones(i could be wrong here, might be nismo??) - the car is in that yard on consignment - as i was just tyre kicking out of curiosity i didnt open the bonnet so cant comment on engine thats all i can think of at the moment. My honest opinion is that while not necessarily a bad car per se i wouldnt be paying anywhere near the asking price, it needs quite a bit of tlc but for the right money it could still be a worthwhile buy. Fabcar are just down the road for a third party inspection recommendation. Good luck

  14. to save starting a new thread, somewhat related. Its probably a crystal ball type question, but how much of an impact will USA coming into the market for gtr's have on their resale value/supply vs demand etc? Its just one country after all, or am i being a bit naive as to how much they desire these cars?
  15. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nnf_EHpV5X0 guess who's back! i couldnt get the VIN for this one from the video, keen to find the auction sheet for this one..
  16. this is a friends vspec. for the asking price its represents great value! http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Nissan-Skyline-1999/SSE-AD-3268694/?Cr=19
  17. Hi all, would there be anyone willing to fabricate an exhaust tip for a 4.5 inch diameter tip? I have a tomei expreme ti on my 34r and although i love the sound, it can be overbearing sometimes. i am specifically after an exhaust tip silencer in design to this: http://www.dreamconceptz.com/car2010/jpgmuffler/MU-SIL.jpg except with the main exit pipe to be of drilled hole type. estimates of cost would be appreciated too! thanks
  18. I decided to give NRMA vintage car insurance policy a go today. Managed to lower my insurance on my 34r vspec by nearly half! there are a few conditions one has to meet though - car is driven not on a daily basis; must travel less then 9000km annually - car must be stored in a secure garage (lock-up enclosed, gated property ie) - Modifications are allowed but only covered to the agreed value amount - driver needs to be over 25 with more then 2 years driving expirence and clean recent driving history For those of you that can meet these criterias, definately worth giving them a call, good saving to be made!
  19. hey mate, did you ever get the results of your japanese history check with the car? would love to know the findings if you dont mind sharing!
  20. just curiously, what is it costing you in registration and insurance for such an old car? everyone keeps talking about how cars become really uneconomical to keep the older they get, so some first hand account would be great!
  21. http://ucar.carview.yahoo.co.jp/model/nissan/skyline-gtr/0021617072UC/?page=4#mnc this is a NUR Mspec as far as i can see they share the exact same leather trimming as a non NUR mspec PM me when you it lands in Perth, would love to add another Mspec owner to our bnr34 group

  24. http://exportcar.jp/en/component/auctstat/?view=auctstatdetail&id=sxMOTn16PalCR9 I have a feeling this Mspec will more then likely be on its way here.. With a haircut no doubt!
  25. climate control unit available? is it the unit that sits directly under the centre vents?
