Its always in regards to crank not cam degree's as far as I know.

Intercool, have you had a LC failure?

I had a fist full of cash for Pete 5 years ago, though heard from a few very reputable tuners about their issues with rapid elevation changes messing with the output. I saw a calibrated techedge unit compared to a motec (the older design) Left a dirty feeling in my mouth, and didn't want to risk my motor (or others) with a device from a mom and pop operation. I know the US Rx7Club uses (used) em like hot cakes... but Innovative, PLX make sell a LOT more Once bitten twice shy I guess. Just my personal opinion from the device half a decade ago, i believe these comments fit within forum guidelines.

Turbo's when properly taken care of, should end up being cheaper then your engine oil. their service life exceeds that of most engine rebuilds in the diesel world i hear. Have you checked the cost of a modern, internally lubricated supercharger?...

AutoSpeed Water Injection System Part 2 Interesting. I do like their seemingly comprehensive testing procedures and logic. Though it looks like they are going to position the nozzle before the air filter, claiming it'll will provide "proportional amounts of water : air" I'm not so sure about this. The key IMO, is being able to tell the existing ECU (in AS.com's example, an OEM ECU) that the detonation suppressing system is working and to take advantage of this with more ignition, less fuel etc. For the system to be really worth it, it should allow such aggressive fuel/ign that if the system ever failed to turn on, the motor would suffer serious det damage... this is all means, the control of water : air must be EXTREMELY tightly controlled, not "roughly proportional" my 2 cents

Front Page Looking Weird
GeeTR replied to siddr20's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
It hangs for lil while i think, cus of the long ttl. On intermittant wifi connections, i get this often; page will set there with rough menu structure / graphics / formatting. -
Borrow / see mechanic for a mech o.pressure gauge & test as soon as possible to be safe imo. As Anna's said, the sender / gauge are awful. Replace sender with a known good one, then purchase a new one if the stocker ends up being bad. If issue still exists, then its most likely your gauge. Incidentally theres a second o.pressure sender that flash's a red LED on the stock gauge. It'll illuminate at very low pressures.

Against what others say (lol) I reckon that colour rocks. The red silicon and wheels don't match though Oh, and metal polishing is for the criminally insane

Impressive How have you theorized that the spark cut bent that rod though?? ... Not being a cock, just thoroughly interested.

I've a little experiance with WB's, so ill throw my 2 cents in. Manual has the preferred location and orientation that the 5wire should be mounted. Generally, you want it as close to the turbo as possible, though somewhere that wont exceed ~7000C (i think, its been a while) It's all in the manual. Just before the cat is always a good idea, though it can be mounted in a finned heatsink if you really want it closer to the turbine (or if its in a rota) Being easy to get to, is an important consideration, as installed with the engine running and NO heater 12v will coke the refrence cell up. Theres a fellow on the Innovative forum whos noticed how electrically "noisy" the LC1 is. Be aware of this when running the cable (more important in a perm install i guess) Reading the forums, seems heat can kill the LC1 dead quick too. Just be sensable when mounting. Yup, its generally a 5-30s warm up time, depending on sender's temp. Don't know about best. They've had their fair share of defective / playing up units. Be this due to the LC1 being thier most popular (most used) unit, or an inherent issue with its design, I don't know. I thought about a PLX unit, though opted for the LC1. Innovative sell 4 or 5 gauges you can use. I "think" the crappy Autometer style single wire gauges respond in a linear fashion to input voltage, hence you could run the analogue output from the LC1 into one of these. (I think one of the Innovative's gauges would be a better option though; you get start / stop calibrate buttons. As mentioned, theres a programble analogue output on both LC1 and LM1 that can be pumped into anything with a analogue > digital converter. Emanage, ANY aftermarket ECU, datalogit etc etc.

Post up somthing, and someone can covert it.

Yup, its a touchy topic when ever turbos are discussed Record the sound if your keen.

Sall bout the little touches

LoL at some of the suggestions. Filter removal tools are just that.. for removal; u never use a tool to tighten a filter. Remove filter, clean o-ring seat, lubricate new filters o-ring, tight by hand with moderate amount of force - done. Your talking about the Fram Grip, I think. In that famous oil filtration test done years ago, Fram didn't come up that well considering the cost.

Are you running a D-Jetro PFC?
-
Ash that timing cover is way trick!! Mind hinting how you painted the CAS? - I was thinking bout it, but was worried bout pain / solvent getting in there?
-
Whata shame you've gone the way of the twin side You'll also have to change your avatar picture now lol.

I think you'll find its what Nismoid is describing. It sound like its coming from the filters.. cus it is Theres induction noise when your on it, theres a "woosh" when you back off hard, but if you back off 3/4 and then maintain a certain foot position "curve" you can make it sound like a cascading "see saw" type of noise. I believe its normal comp surge as theres not enough pressure between TB and motor to open BOV's, but you've still backed off, so there air exits the comp covers... giving the normal sounds like its fluttering (with the dynamics of twin turbs and bov's giving the "see saw / tottering" sound. If you want the full sick flutters all the time, use a blanking plate on the BOV mounts.

I couldnt help myself Edit, I took it to mean, 4deg at the crank. So two marks on the cam gear.

Seems not so mang - Beling an avid fan of "user feedback" systems, id like to again, display my dislike regarding this editing shite It just bit me again, where i posted, hours later checked a thread, only to notice an error. Again, if SAU is to be a proper information library thats searched... it needs to be update'able.. like wikipedia I woulda thought a track change log is kept in case of some dispute on for sale thread IE.
