You can do a leak down test this will tell you if its rings or valves that are leaking or if its leaking into the other cylinder, oil in cylinder will show an increase in compression if rings are worn. Search you tube there will be a how to video there. If you don't have access to compressed air it won't cost much to have a leak down test done.

Oh LOL I missed that, my bad. There are heaps of other tests you could do like oil cylinders, pressure test cylinders, pressure test coolant etc etc but you know your down on compression anyway so heads coming off regardless. I would pull the head assess the damage then make a call based on actual costs. Replacing a head gasket is not a difficult job much easier than a manual conversion. Do it yourself should be no more than $1200.00 (if no other damage is found) Hope it works out ok.

HG on it way out get a comp test & dye test the coolant it could be your cooler but I doubt it. Any water in the oil? or are you loosing coolant?. Good luck.

Cams To Use With Hks 2835 52t Turbines
rb30dett replied to Turbz_13's topic in Forced Induction Performance
They would be similar but the -10's would be more efficient & produce better hp. My advice to use these on your block get some 270 cams with a lift of min 10.25 you spend money on a port job I suspect you could improve spool by 500rpm. You will need to spin the engine to 9k to get the most from these. -
Sorry for the late reply, south Bris

Cams To Use With Hks 2835 52t Turbines

I would say you have it there mate "laggy as shit" you need head work (porting)and cams to be able to live with them on the street. The GT-RS has a smaller zorst wheel so may be more responsive than these but are rated higher hp from HKS. That would give a good indication as to why these were never made in large quantity's. -

Reading through all posts I think most had never heard of the low mount 2835 kit hence assumptions were made. Others just tried to enforce an opinion based on the persons profile status, anyway no harm no foul. OP don't take offence bud there is some good advice offered here, if you need to spend more money to get these operational than a better performing (brand new turbo) why would you? -

Wow not sure why so many people don't believe they are 2835's I am positive they are, I have seen these turbo's before though they were made in limited numbers. I am sure they flow less than GT-RS. HKS rated them at like 760hp so between 2540 & GT-RS on a 26 you wont see any boost till 4500rpm. On the right motor (rb30/26) they would be fine for street/track. -
