  7. Cops are tops I guess it's like anything, it comes down to the person doing the job. Some of them are nice and others are bastards! Just don't go to Braddon on a Friday night...! Anyway besides that, from stories I have heard from NSW ppl, ACT cops seem a heap better. :burnout:

  10. I agree with OzGTR97V. That is the way to go selling any car. It weeds out the lookers from the buyers. I had a few issues when I bought my Skyline. Being 19 a lot of ppl took me for a tyre kicker. The same thing happened when I bought a brand new Astra when I was 18. I found going in a suit straight from work helps a lot!
  11. Roy: Yep that was me. Duncan: Are you able to come? I am so looking forward to it! I wish I'd gone on the track last time but with the rain and all it looked a bit dicey.
  12. How much notice do u need?! This one will definitly be on this date. Check out www.wakefieldpark.com.au for dates for another one.
  13. Damn, sounds like I should have stayed longer!
  14. BTW, NRMA inspections, in my experience, seem to care more about interior and stuff like that then mechanical. I can check lights and stereos and interior condition, I just wanna know that everythings in good order under the hood!
  15. I don't reckon NRMA inspections are worth the $ they cost. I'd just get a good mechanic to look over it and maybe even get a preasure check done. Main thing I guess as with any import is that a lot have had their odometers wound back, which means you'll have no idea as to when things like cam belts have to be done. Check interior wear and if the stearing wheel gear knob and drivers seat are worn to bugger and the clock shows 50,000kms think hmmm! Cambelts on Skylines should be done every 100,000kms. Check the sticker on the fan cover (i think that's whre it is) that is in Jap and it says 100,000kms somewhere on it. There is a spot to mark the kms the cam belt was changed. It cost me about $500 from memory to get mine done. I was fortunate to by mine from a dealer and I was able to negotiate a 3 yr unlimmited KM warranty into the price which gives me peace of mind. Good Luck! James.
  16. Does anyone know where I could get a copy of the ADRs? It would be handy to have so I have something to work to as I do up my car. Thanks in advance, James.
  17. Equity Mate! When I was 18 I bought an investment property. Saved up since I was 16 to get my 5% deposit. Smartest thing I ever did. I am now 19. I work a good sales job (full-time) and get a good income from it. My last car was a 2001 Holden Astra. When I first got that (on a secured loan through CBA) ppl thought it was my parents! Anyway I did a few mods to that, when I saw the light and decided I wanted a Skyline. :burnout: I was going to import, but b4 I did, I had a look at local stuff and found a nice clean R33. I got $400 for my Astra (actualy got $19,500 but I owed $19,100 ). Anyway due to the increase in house prices I was able to incease my mortgage on my investment property and redraw the money to pay the $20k for my Skyline. This meant HEAPS less interest then a car loan, plus it wasn't secured against the car. Oh yeah, and the interest is tax deductable, and my tenants pay my mortgage. (Read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" by Robert Kiyosaki if ya wana know how to be in that situation). I have now sold my house (well it hasn't exchanged contracts yet...) but the money i am getting 4 it will give me some cash to go overseas plus it means i now OWN my car. It's a great feeling not owing any money to anyone. No credit card debit again YAY! GET INSURANCE IF YOU OWE MONEY! I can't think of anything worse than writing off your pride and joy but still having to pay money on repayments! I pay about $250 a month on full comp. insurance through Vintage Classic cars or whatever they are called. It's a shitload of money but It's better than loosing ya car and still having to pay money! The joys of being young! Apart from the odd small loan from my olds, I paid for everything else by working hard. Like someone said earlier on this, it's about choices. To waste money on shit or to save and spend it on something you really want! If anyone wants advice on investing in Real Estate checkout: www.ethicsinrealestate.com.au heaps of great info.

  19. Okay todays session was pretty poor. It poured with rain and only Duncan and I showed up from SAU! I didn't end up going on the track. Watched the drift action for a while then came home. Who wants to come on April the 24th?? Should be good as weekdays are pretty quite so I'm told and fingers crossed it doesn't rain!
