  1. WILCO: I think you just sumed it up perfectly!
  2. A lot of magistrates will let people off if they are over the provisional 0.02 BAL but under the normal 0.05 BAL. But as soon as you get into the double the limit category there isn't much of a likley hood of anyone getting out of it! I am not in NSW, I am in the ACT and the laws are different here. But last time I checked DUI is just an abreviation for Driving Under the Influence which applies to anyone in excess of the BAL. Anyone who has ever been in a court room and watched people coming up before the court will tell you that those who represent themselves or use LegalAid will always come of worse then those with their own legal representation. Never underestimate the value of a good solicitor/barrister! Remember that the fine is just the small part. When you drive a skyline it's the insurance where it will really hit you. Another thing, I am 90% sure that drink driving is a criminal offence as opposed to a traffic infringment. Something to double check anyway. One last gripe; not saying that I am perfect... If you never speed, never drink drive and generaly follow the road rules, you will never complain that the cops are revenue raising. Just keep in mind that the speed limits arn't set by the cops. The cops just enforce the law. If you think the speed limit is unfair write to the council, don't give the cops shit. At the end of the day it'll only make the outcome worse for you. If you are polite MOST cops will be far more leaneant on you. Just my 2 cents
  3. Yep I went. I slept in though and didn't get down there till after 12pm. I ran mine up and got 140.7kw. I laughed because John got 147 kw and he's running 15psi! lol Did you put yours on?
  4. FYI running a orange light is the same as running a red. The law says that you must stop on a orange light if safe to do so. I am guessing the traffic boys decided that it was! Basicly flooring it to get through the orange before it goes red is not on. If you can stop, stop. Simple as that. In regards to this new infringement, I would take it to court. You may be able to argue that not having your license would be detremental to both your studies and work. I would also put to the court that you are a student and can't afford to pay the fine. Basicly the court just wants to be sure you have learnt your lesson. You need to make it very clear to the court that you have learnt your lesson and that you realise just how dangerous speeding is in a residential area. A friend of mine used this argument to get out of his 3rd DUI charge, for which he was facing imprisonment. He got a weeks community service, no fine and a 2 year suspension.
  5. I just started working at Telstra house in Dickson and noticed another R33 in the car park. Just wondering if the owner is on here?! Mine is the silver R33 with the EliteSport sticker on the windscreen.
  6. yeah it's a dodgy world we live in these days!
  7. I must say that of late the cops & RTA in Canberra seem to be pulling over more old bombs and less P platers and modded/imported cars. The other day I was driving along in Phillip and there was a big defect station. I was all ready to pull over and they waved me and the S15 behind me straight through! Maybe the boys in blue are starting to understand that rusty bombs with no brakes and bald tyres are a little more dangerous then a new magna with P plates! lol
  8. try http://www.allclassifieds.com.au/ it's part of allhomes and is FREE
  9. One of my mates works for MIL and he said that the Hoyts carpark in woden is probably one of the worst in Canberra for having cars nicked from it! I just remind myself that this is why I put up with paying stupidly big comprehensive insurance premiums and why I paid all that money for a good alarm! The dent king is a champ at getting little door dings out of the car and doesn't charge a lot. I have to take my line out to a detailer to get some scuffs on the front bar fixed up. Some stupid pole in the Mauka underground carpark desided to jump out at me while my girlfriend was distracting me! lol
  10. There is a guy on Clive Steele Ave. in Monash who is pretty damn good, and pretty reasonable. He's a backyardie but he use to work for some major garage apparently. He put an RB25det into Joe (from EliteMotorsport)'s R31. I'm not sure what the guy's business is called, but no doubt it would be in the Yellow Pages.
  11. yep Phillip BP has Ultimate 98 for sure. I have been told that Optimax is actually 96 RON with an additive to bring it up to 98. Apparently if you don't go through it quick enough the RON will drop back to 96. Personaly I use Ultimate and Optimax, which ever servo is closer! I might seriously make an effort to only use Ultimate and see how that goes.
  12. Sounds like you guys all had a good time... well excluding Joe! Unfortunatly I was stuck in sunny Qld, half my luck! lol
  13. Blitzen (Paul): Thanks for a fab day! I took about 50 photos, I'll post some up here when I get back to aus and return to my broadband connection! I got a ride in an R33 GTR and an R34 GTR. I WANT AN R34 GTR!! so damn nice! Brands Hatch was an awesome circuit, lot's of dips and stuff! A mad day all round!
  14. I didn't bring the video camera to England with me but I do have my digital camera at the ready! Paul: I'll give you a call shortly about Thursday 2 Skylines, bloody gready bastard!
  15. sounds great! Yeah my Uncle lives in Hoo if ya know where that is? I've sent u a PM with my mobile number. I've gotta log off the net, but send me a text message so I have your number and I'll give you a call when I get down there! Cheers, James.
  16. I might be at my Uncles in Rochester (Kent) next week. Is that anywhere near you??
  17. oh by the way, I am in Great Missenden which is near Aylesbury
  18. Hey Paul, Sounds like a mad event. I am however carless. Is there a train station anywhere near there? Cheers, James.
  19. £20 a week?? What were you eating, noodles?? Meat costs a bomb here...!
  20. Um should be coming back on the 28th July but may come back earlier. John was quite keen to take care of my car, I trusted it to my parents instead! lol
  21. Yeah I did the AAMI one too. It was pretty good, and FREE!! If you guys organise one for August I'd be up for it! I'm in England at the moment, and SKylineless! hmm I miss my car!!
  22. Yeah my 'line is a daily driver When I can afford it, I'd love to have a new WRX as my daily driver!
  23. I'd love to come Oppy, but it's a bit far to drive from London!
  24. yeah the autobahn would be fat! InExtremis: But the equiv. to £25,000 would be $63,500.13 according to commbank. The reality is, the average wage here is about £20,000 and in Aus I'd say it's about $35,000. Per month: (obviously all this is without tax but it will still demonstrate my point) £1,666.67 & $2916.67 Working on a 50 litre tank: UK at 80p per litre = £40 Aust. at $1.10 per litre = $55 Say you go through 5 tanks per month the costs would be: UK £200 AUS $275 Now this equates to the following % of monthly income: UK 12% AUS 9.5% (rounded to the nearest 1/2 per cent) Case proven!
