I am sorry if my earlier post offended any one and I have explaind my response to V8 eta. Sorry if the figures qouted to me on the weekend were incorrect. I was under the impression I was takling to the owner and getting infomation first hand. I may have been talking to a sales person or a total stranger just making stuff up. Again my appolagies

There is no way on this earth would I drive any where near a cop on the street with that exhaust and expect to come away without a list of defects as long as my arm. The thing makes 660rwhp through a holinger box (sequential I think) so it dam well should be in the low 35's. My 33 gtst has less than 1/2 the power and 1/2 the number of driving wheels and only 1.3 sec behind. My brakes are also std calipers, virtuly the same as on the gtr and to be honest if his pads were going off with 4 applications..... there crap pads. It is still a very impressive time, but put into perspective, it's a balls out pig.

Well gatton comes and goes about this time every year and I have to admitt, I was a little disapointed not to see Mark and Russ there. I was hoping the would be biving the new 34 a shake down before Superlap.... Ohwell, was not to be. Brad Botcher took out the event dipping into the 34 sec mark with 1of his R32 gtr's along with Ray Vanderce (spelling?) in his Skelta, a rwd supercharged registered prototype thing. Botcher again with his other 32 GTR in the 35'sallong with another Skelta thing. At 36.1 was Danny Mischock and his amazing mk II escort bullett which I was chasing all weekend pulling in next in line at 36.6. Steve Voight had a #18 shell AU V8 Supercar which was in my class with a best of 36.8. All in all We (Sara and I) had a good weekend. She was the fastest rwd car on true street tyres @ 41.1 and 2nd out of the girls. I won my class, 2nd rwd tin top and 6th outright. I was having a fiddle with some footage I got from my car, 1st run sunday morning. the camera was in Sara's car the rest of the weekend for coahcing purpouses. Paid off for her too.

Great to see all the hard work has paid off.

cams..... they are Inlet 255deg 8.21 mm peak lift. Installed with 0.48" lift @ TDC (no variable timimg) exahust 258 deg 8.22 mm peak lift. Installed with 0.18" lift @ TDC. That should make the lobe seperation 112deg....I think. The tourque line on the dyno is much flatter, doesn't have the boot response out of a corner I was looking for. I was only able to put in a short test this week and didn't get a chance to try much. just felt slow and sluggish down low and needed to be up in the revs. felt very forign. Gatton is this weekend so I have put it back to the old setup. On that note, is anyone else going to Gatton?

I have made an addapter manifold to mount a set of GTR throttle bodies and plenum for my RB25. It has worked quite well but not improved the area of the fine throttle response I was looking for. It has improved and moved the power up higher in revs though. I'm going back to the old setup.

I have made an addapter manifold to mount a set of GTR throttle bodies and plenum for my R33 curcit car. It has worked quite well but not improved the area of the fine throttle response I was looking for. It has improved and moved the power up higher in revs though. Unfortunately it doesnt suit the gearing for the tracks I race at. So, the complete intake is for sale, less injectors and sensors. The setup came on an RB20 addaptor manifold so can be for either Rb20 or 25. Which ever manifold is not required in the sale will be offered for sale seperatly. This setup owes me over 1k in parts welding and machining. Asking $800 for the complete setup. Warwick QLD 0411090019

Good to see that everyone has been working hard on thier machines, as have I. I've been working on seting up a set of GTR throttle bodies and plenum on to an RB25. Not a job for the feint hearted. Finaly got a decent tune in to it today. No real power increase but emensly different fuel mapping was need everywhere and took the best part of the day. In the end the power comes on a little earlier in the rev range, has a flatter curve and moved peak power up by nearly 1000rpm in the rev range. Might be easier to power out of corners? will track test and refine tomorrow at morganpark. Will post up some pics later. Off to do a wheel alignment for gatton street sprints and testing.

yeh, the addaptor plate was bent and twisted. Is all good now....Fingers crossed.

I didnt intend for this to go this way but I have found a very good match for GTR seats. And as you say, new material does stand-out somewhat. The biggest headache with skyline seats in general is that the cover is glued on. Normaly there is a short sock on the inside with a spring/hardened wire insert that is clipped to another wire set into the foam. Gluing the cover on makes them a real pain in the botbot. And yes the price is much higher if not for the extra time spent but the AGRO tax that goes with it. As a side note if you are serious about getting a seat covered, pm me. Might take a while though, it is realy only a hobby these days to help fund my own racing. No the Astra does not have 1 of my race interiors in it. It was just in the way this morning. It's not often most of the RX2's are all together like that. Just made a good snapshot.

As some of you might know, this is my trade. Even though I have changed professions i still do some work on weekends. I have been trimming some historic racecars lately and thought u guys might like to see what goes into a basic race seat. These are new seats that are built to a weight so no extras that might weigh anything goes in. The seat rtimmed in the pic is a drivers seat and is heavier than a passenger seat. In the Historic class they have to have a passenger seat that looks the same, and they do, but havn't been made with the intention for any1 to sit in. Did I mention wieght? I remember 1 day when Matt was beaming ear to ear proclaming to have found 65grams hiding in an integral part of the engine. Anyway, to start with you will will need an open space to work in with something on the work surface so the gelcoat/paint doesn't get scratched up. then a shell that needs trimming Some padding cut to the shape of the seat Spray some contact glue on it And in the shell Just flop the foam in the shell... ...and trim it up. I do a few of these so I have made some patterns for the fabric. mark out and cut out the material Sew the quilting in all the parts together. Now you just need to glue both parts, flop it in the shell, secure all the edges and trim it all up neatly. trim up the seat belt holes so the raw edges are neatly hidden. and last of all you will need to make up a cusion that matches, and fit it of course so it wont slip out unterbrakes. last of all it needs to be dropped off so the guys can put it in the #7 car. Yes the all have my interiors in them, and this is the last seat.... YAY! Job done.

My Car or the mx5? All I can tell you about the MX5 is that he runs a fair amount of boost, masive willwood brakes and is flamin quick. My 33 is fairly modified, not extreem by any strech. Engine has a small amount of porting, mild cams, Fresh pistions, Metal head gasket, N1 oil pump and a good ballance. Cast HKS garrett T300 combo and GTR intake (just finishing this bit off) normaly makes 300 rwhp @ 9.5 psi (gate pressure) Gbox, stock Dif, GTR rebuilt tighter. Rear axels and hubs also GTR. Brakes, Stock with good pads, Hawk. Suspension is 33 gtr HR Tien and unknown swaybars. Wheels are 17x9.5 +12 Tyres 245/45/17 semislick or 245/620 slicks for the supersprint at MorganPark. Body is striped and caged. Did some testing at Morgan in Dec and saw a few laps dipping into the 1:07's on the long track, 2.6 km i think.

I run my 33GTST in 2A sports. Its not the fastest but If I can keep the SR20DET powered MX5 behind me I'm happy.

I get lost with the 6 speed in the VY Operation Drift Cop car. I dont know if it is gearing or what but it just feel odd. I guess more seat time would help. -

Are you planing to make a new wold record by jumping 56 London busses with that cage?

I bougt this little Atlas 200 about a year ago and it's not bad, just slow on the hiway. I might put a VH45 auto in it. If I do that i will rebuild most of the enclosed part of the tray into a motorhome and build an enclosed 5th wheel style trailer. These are the only pics which are from the day it came home. I am remaking the tray at the moment so the top can be a track side Grandstand (esp good for events like Gatton) and the sides are the same as a toughtliner that can be tented out to make a pitbay with shade. Funny thou, Im not sure I realy want to keep it. will have to take some new pics some time.

Superlap 2009 Gets A Green Light!

If my car passes to race at statelevel events, will it be elligable for this? not worried about the belts but I don't remember ever seeing an FIA stamp any where on the seat. Perhaps it is on the bottom.....haven't looked under ther in many years. Motorsport is 1 where you jump in wilth all the big fish and you just have to see where ur all standing after all the BS stops at the end of the day. It might just be that you look down the list, and in your own mind strike off all thoes out of your walletts reach. Point is to enjoy the day and do your best. -
I saw the bulldozer heading out there at lunchtime, track extensions are GO!! Sorry you guys can't make it

This wed is the last test day at Morgan till feb 2009. I will heading out to test some roll center changes. track is open 7am till 3pm. Cost is about $50 1/2 day and about $70 for a full day. Anyone tempted?

I came accross a hail damaged R33 GTST rolling shell on the weekend at a price I could not passup. I have always had the idea that I would like to build a Sports Sedan and this could be a good platform/starting point. It's not like I want to have it ready for the start of next year or anything but I was just wondering what class you guys would build a car like this for? and why. Current thinking is Sport Sedan because there is a national series I can go to down the track if I want. Either way I would be able to build a spaceframe type car retaining the ABC and sill pillers. I would like to use a vq30 turbo from a gloria/cedric. just use stock bottomends and have a set of good heads/cams. box????dog of somesort and a 300zx rear end. Like I said, no firm ideas on what to do with it yet. I would like to hear your Ideas.
