i used to only get 260 - 280km per tank aswell but the things i did were, change the 02 sensor, change the BOV to stock, cleaned afm with contact cleaner and also cleaned my water sensor plug. my car has the following mods (also remember that my car started out life as a non turbo as a result i have more compression than most also as a result of the compression i have a shitload more torque than others with 200rwkw:)!) whether or not this helps with fuel economy or not but eh pfc intercooler ebc walbro fuel pump nismo regulator full trust turbo back + xforce cat trust pod and airbox and a 52mm alloy radiator i get 450km per 50L fill up (where is my last 15L? fksake) i found that changing the apexi twin chamber BOV to standard i can get 100km from 9L which is quite good highway driving and shit loads of boosting whereas before id get 12 or 13...remember every litre counts

bubbling sounds like the radiator overflow bottle fluid getting really hot check that, maybe ur running low or maybe its time for fresh coolant

hey man did u end up getting this done and what sort of number did it pull? how hard was it for the workshop to do the solid lifter conversion? expensive or what?

guess it mostly depends on piping mine was a 3.5" it was pointless listening to music if u had the windows down coz you wouldnt hear it LOL it was crazy but yeah other than that titanium or just use a side exit pipe, no cat, nothing... ^_-

guys and gals im not sure if this has been done before but for all those (and i know theres a few) that have rebuilt their rb25's i think it would be a good idea to post up what parts youve thrown in and what youve done to it + how much (and where you went?) it cost you in labour for example we could list all the prep and parts that youve put into the car to get it where it is block preperation process (machining etc etc) and prices with places to get these done, then list what parts you have put into her, then any headwork you did and finally supporting mods i.e. everything else i'll put up a detailed example in the next few days so people can get a rough idea what to post, this should be good because im looking at rebuilding soon and it would be a quick and easy way for me and others to get info and pricing as well as ideas on what everyone else has done but should look something like this block - what did u do and how much and where? crank shaft - what did u do where and how much? pistons and rings - which ones and how much and balancing? which compression ratio you chose? rods and bolts - as above bearings - which ones and how much head gasket - which one and much much head studs or not - which studs did u get and then how much was it to assemble it up and where did u get it done? Unless ofcourse you got the 1 shop to do everything then please let us know what they did and the total price excluding price of parts Head - what did u do, prices for each and labour costs, any porting? Supporting mods - turbos, oil pumps etc etc, every other part and then finally how much does she make?

dude if ur in nsw dont even bother, believe me the cops hassel ya too much best to go for subtlety but i used to have a hks super dragger that thing was extremely loud

hehehe, only problem is finding one .... ive tried so many wreckers man all out of stock or people waiting on them (must have been a canary blitz), but then id have to either melt the plastic to refit it due to over the radiator type fmi, or get a plenum....good excuse to get a forward facing plenum but i think the arc will flow better .... maybe i'll keep hunting and get a plenum at the same time...but i just dont wanna do it half arsed and quickly basically all i really wanna know is will the average donut munching, maccas eating (on parra rd homebush in the parking lot of amf bowling before they set up their radar for the night) copper defect me for an exposed panel filter, because technically thats what it is ....

boys and gals, i must know whether this is a legal modification or not, as i understand it, its not defectable as it isnt a pod this is all i wanna know someone with knowledge as to whether this is a defect mod or not

im going to try and see what i can do just to quieten it down, i think liverpool exhaust can put 2 resonators in there for me without a problem...it might just scrape it...i think i read somewhere a resonator will cut down 5db...(i think) anyhow...how about a varex cannon? surely this will save a few headaches with the popo and a quick db test....

do you think the r32 version will fit the r33? coz i find a used one for 200 bux delivered which is quite cheap then 80 for the new filter for it and were all set!!

still then i dont get how this guy let me off with my exhaust.... LOL its back to my trust item, he even asked me did u get a warning etc LOL its kinda lucky, note to self avoid all major roads.... except the m5 after 11pm

the more i hear these things the more i think the arc super induction box iis worth the price...no hassels at all as for the exhaust, i have a full 3" system, if somehow i stuck enough resonators to get it under 90db would i still need a rta db test or just get that done when the engineer writes the certificate for it.

hey all as per topic title, can the nsw police force bring up details of previous defects for our cars in their police car computer thingy? or do they just bring up offences? i dont know someone explain it to me, the other night i got pulled over again and the copper asked me has someone issued me a warning for the exhaust being too big i said yeah i got a defect for it (although i had cleared it already) and said they have given me 14 days since last thursday to fix it, and he said thanks see you later, do i assume from this that they are unable to bring up defect records?

hey guys can we get an engineers certificate for 1 item at a time e.g. pod and fmic, then after a while exhaust etc....or whats the go..

with regards to exhaust emissions when we get defected for this are they just looking for noise? or full gas emissions also.... so 90db or under is fine now ive got a 3" split dump/front pipe an xforce cat and a trust power extreme 2 catback exhaust, which an officer once said to me is "too big" (but not too loud) is there a restriction on size also? If i had a couple of resonators for example put in and got it under the 90db limmit, would this now automatically be a legal modification or would i need epa approval as well? followed by an engineeers certificate...or no certificate? can the police defect me for an exhaust without measuring the db? Also is there some sort of paper or certificate that you can get which states ur exhaust db level bla bla bla so u can show the copper that it does not contribute to noise etc and hence he can get out his on meter and test the db level. ive done a search on these but there seems to be no definate answers for many of these questions, please do advise me on how to go about quietening the current system without loosing power but keeping it legal
