  1. in nsw, umm how often would you replace them? unable to be cleaned? are these legal.... hehe better make sure some stupid cop might say something :S
  2. i need to keep this car 100% legal now that the cops are hunting us all down like flies on shit....so since i have a front mount cooler on my gtst r33 (over the radiator type) will an arc super induction box fit? or should i invest the time and money into making a fully enclosed custom enclosure for a pod with cold air feed....which way would be most cost effective, and if anyone has got a fully enclosed one (with engineers cert) please let me know where they got it how much for and if theres photos please post it up.... thanks shane
  3. all fixed and passed now i need to keep it 100% legal...
  4. i dont know about you guys but there is no way im posting my numberplate up here, so that every cop that surfs this website can memorise it? and pick on me? no thanks
  5. ok 1st photo is the passengers side from under the car, the 2nd photo is a hole made just under the windscreen washer bottle, are these decent or do they need to be reinforced?
  6. hey guys im going to be doing most of the running around for this tomorrow, about the only other thing i need to know is whether my split front/dump pipe needs to be a stocker as well, so far these parts will be going on tomorrow (air box sorted, bov now standard, cat and cat back now standard as well) so pretty much back to stock except the front pipe and intercooler, hopefully my intercooler will be ok for it and maybe i can cover the split front pipe with exhaust wrap.... what do you reckon?
  7. ok the first photo is the passengers side area (near the wheel well) and the second one is on the drivers side, cuts in just underneath the water bottle let me know if its legal or not, theres alot riding on this :S
  8. the reo has not been modified, as for the structural part of the guard, i'll post photos in about 1 hour.... also can these defects get extensions? i doubt i can have everything ready (full time job and all plus technically i only got 11 days due to long weekend) , like i think id have to change the cat, front/dump pipe, exhaust, intercooler, bov and pod (the last 2 have been taken care of and the exhaust isnt a problem, cat and everything ive got the stock bits, except the front/dump pipe) my only big worry now is the intercooler and where holes have been drilled 1 hole comes out from the inner gaurd area infront of the wheel (is this the stock hole?) and the other hole is on the other side anyway i'll post photos soon
  9. so there is absolutely no chance that my front mount will pass the blue slip? even if everything else is standard...exhaust, air filter, bov (which is what i got done for) anyone here passed a blue slip with a frount mount on?
  10. ok now forget about the fine for a minute, where they have ticked "full inspection" does this mean the guy doing the blue slip will be going over every inch of the car? Also an intercooler should be fine to pass through on the blue slip aye? I just gotta fix airbox and bov.... will the stock airbox fit back into position with an over the radiator type FMI?
  11. damn, thats too bad man..........do you guys think if i patched up some of the gaps from the airbox with like black plastic and waterproof electrical tape it would pass a blue slip?
  12. lol its been empty for 2 years hehehe (im just gonna take it out this sunday) save the hassels, i dont have a problem with the defects its just the dirty number plate fine really!
  13. phewf, this makes it easier to get it passed via blue slip, the hi octane air box will pull through (bit of ductape and some super sticky electrical tape to patch the holes up and presto fully enclosed LOL) what do you reckon would this pass a blue slip thing?
  14. i see, although it is readable as its only covered in a light layer of exhaust gas, and i still havent cleaned it so i could provide before and after photographs etc, but i will ask my mate who is a lawyer anyway, frankly i think that is very harsh especially since ive seen speeding tickets with less $$$ on it
  15. i know *sniff sniff*
  16. Also where they have crossed "exhaust/noise emissions" does that mean i need to just change the exhaust or need a full emissions test done via epa etc? And ive been reading in other threads but to no avail that i can go to the RTA first hand and check with one of them as to what i really need fixed, yet not one of these posts actually prove that this is correct.....
  17. hey all, my 1st ever traffic infringement (dirty number plate which the officer claimed was illegible) which was accompanied with a defect notice, was on my way to work this morning slowing for a red light when the cops (aka cops) pulled me over long story short, slapped me 318 dollars for a dirty number plate (anyone got any legal advice for this one? is there any extra charges if i took it to court and lost) and then 79 dollars defect for the following - 1. bov, pod filter only 90% enclosed and a missing washer bottle lid (the last ones a wtf?) also they crossed on the blue sheet that my exhaust is too loud and needs to be repaired for noise/emissions (although they didnt test it...is it still required?) now from what i understand an AUVIS (australian unregistered vehicle inspection station) is just a place where i can get a blue slip right? so in one day i lost a weeks income (318 + 79 + 160 (change exhaust and change back) + stock bov 50) fkn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! also the officer said i need an engineers certificate to run a pod filter, is this true? cant i just have it fully enclosed (you see it was fully enclosed until i moved the charcoal canister away so if i move it back in there i should be able to pass it off, its one of those hi octane racing ones) but anyway hopefully someone with some good legal knowledge on here will be able to help me in my argument for the dirty number plate..... HELP!
  18. would it be more cost effective adapting the rb26 head to the rb25 block? how about the intercooler did you have to ditch your old one or did you customise the old one? for example if i had twin turbos on an rb25 (lets say both can make 500hp combined power) stock displacement and all and if you put that side by side with an rb25 sporting a 2.8L kit and a 500hp turbo (single) which would be more responsive??????????
  19. its 2hours away mate...(also are you bored or something? if you cant put in some answers to my questions, please move the f*ck on) thanks
  20. i already have (hence why i said i know they will replace it) but i just dont have the time to go that far, nor do i have a second car and driving far is risky.... justjap is 2hours away
  21. was yours aluminium as well? how much they charge you? was yours still on the car? i know i got alot of questions but its because id rather not travel to kirrawee and risk frying my engine as the radiator is still on the car, and i doubt justjap would send out another one and have me send the old one back again....
  22. thanks alot dude really appreciate it
  23. got a small problem with my just jap aluminium radiator its leaking like a lil b*tch, can these be repaired? if so can anybody tell me a reasonable place out in sydney (with decent work) that can fix this up asap, i know i can get it replaced at just jap, but if i cant id like to have options available, at the moment due to the size of the leak it looks like a cracked weld, but id really have to take the radiator off and pressure test it properly to find the exact spot but its on the passengers side for sure ..............HELP ME
  24. bump, pictures added
