Ok since most of u guys have a shit load more experience when it comes to modifications and wat not, thought id post up some stuff im gonna do to my project car (96 gts) now im aiming for around the same power as my 95 gtst (225.1rwkw) or possibly more i thought it mite be best to start with some stronger internals, and then hook a turbo up later, what do you guys reckon, - hypereuretic (however thats spelt) pistons as opposed to forgies coz im not after too much power as yet - some new camshafts - a set of valve springs - possibly a new cam gear or 2 lol - some conrods and better bolts obviously now i havent gone into this much detail with my gtst but im not sure how strong the rb25de engine is and if it will be able to handle a good turbo after i strengthen the engine with all the above am i to see any if at all performance improvement before i turbo up thanks anyhelp would be appreciated, also do i need to strengthen anything else before i consider a turbo ?
  2. lol ur looking at 10grand mate rofl 6 ish for an engine then u need bigger brakes better suspension bigger fuel pump as eug said a gearbox and thats around 2 - 3 grand LOL then theres the installation and that aint cheap mate so basically the engine , gear box, good brakes good suspension and fuel pump will set u back 10grand already if u get suspension , fuel pump and brakes 2nd hand then u'll still be looking at 9grand or so, and then installation of the engine and the complicated wiring the r34 contains will set u back a shit load more.
  3. hmmz, anymore ideas id prefer not to do that conversion, even tho its easy and cheap and will haul ass wen ive worked it, but sr20's limmits are reached too quickly
  4. cmon sum1 give me ideas to boost my car GTS's 1/4 mile time alot ive run 12.1 in my gtst which isnt too shabby now i need the same result on my gts and ive got about 7 - 8 grand ready to start throwing on the gts...ideas people ideas need more power and hence faster times
  5. haha yeah i know its a pain, im jus being crazy, not actually gonna bother LOL, i still dunno wat to do, i think i'll drop an rb25det in there coz i can and wudnt mind two gtst's and wud still work outa cheaper than buying a 97 model gtst so it should set me back 3200 for the front cut complete with all wiring and ecu etc, then id need bigger brakes, wat are the standard injectors and fuel pumps like on the GTS? coz if they are decent, no need upgrading until later heres my plan for now 1. get rb25det 2. buy better brakes 3. get the engine dropped into my gts 3. install the brake kit 4. try to beat my gtst *rofl* am i forgetting something else? dont think i need nething else aye rb25det 3200 bux brake kit 800 bux installation of the engine etc? how much wud it cost? and am i forgetting something which i need to get the car going? also works out cheaper then i can get forgies and do the works later (like next yr)
  6. yeap under the spare tyre is the worst area but the problem infact is caused by the tail lights, the sealent on the taillights have worn out and leaks water into the interior of the boot, and hence the water finds its way under spare tyre wat i did to remove the leak was pull out both rear lights, done easily from the inside of the boot, unplug the wires take out the screws and push the lights out, then find a good sealant from an autoshop and reseal it , but make sure that u clean out the junk of the old worn out sealant 1st, its disgusting, but u will find after applying the new seal there wont be nemore leaks and u can easily fix the rust

  8. yeah im looking at 11s for this car, my real goal is a good sleeper engine so all the ricer ****s look at my gts and wanna run me at lights , and den loose and stuff LOL to a GTS!!!!!!! muhahahaha how about a 1jzgte twin turbo LOL now im going crazy huh

Ok so i got bored of the stocky gts and i did a few things, i changed spark plugs (shorter gap ones) put a hks super dragger 3" exhaust wit 5" tip (which i got for free off a friend) installed a K&N pod filter with a custom partition which should keep out the heat from the engine and also i had a look at the hpi mag and they had some decent tips to get an extra 13rwkw out of the N/A engine so i followed those now i shud be expecting around 130rwkw with the tips i followed and the new exhaust or should i expect a bigger gain from the exhaust? or not? but basically the N/A engine at best run is 105rwkw mucking around with the air box u can do some illegal stuff like pull off the top half of the air box and gain an extra 2rwkw and if u take out the filter part u will see an extra 5rwkw so that wud take ur power to 110rwkw *but ofcourse if u use a good pod and have an exhaust system u should gain 5rwkw from just a simple pod filter* Next they removed the fuel cut defender buying a 2nd hand one shouldnt cost more than 50bux and that gives another 2rwkw so your power should be 112rwkw by now then they mucked around with the timing curve to gain another 6rwkw and boost power to 118rwkw u gotta constantly load test on the dyno to make sure theres no detonation (there shouldnt be) ur base crank angle sensor ignition timing needs u to crank it another 3 degrees to gain that 6rwkw so now the power is 118rwkw and if u wanted another few kw you could go out and buy an apexi "super funnel or something along those lines" basically its just a guide like item which guides air to ur engine and it should see more rwkw (the super funnel is illegal on the street though) now i did all this for less than 500 bux and i did gain an extra 13rwkw but after i did that i installed the hks super dragger hopefully i should see a nice healthy gain of like 8 - 15rwkw as the stock ehaust is a very restrictive item. now i should be seeing around 130rwkw mark so now that thats taken care of i had spare falken azeena T115 tyres in the garage which came brand new with my gtst and ive never used them , these are fairly good tyres to use and provide excellent grip and can improve 1/4 mile times by a bit and are really nice on the gts ok with this new power gain the car goes a fair bit harder and the grip is so much better (better traction) next step is to see wat else i can do to increase the power i was thinking extractors , for now i will do small things to the engine to increase the performance, then later on this year i'll throw in the rb26dett or v8engine and tune that to about 300rwkw then stop But for now wat else do u guys reckon i can do im trying to gain as much as possible ?

  12. hmm well i cud do that to my gtst no probs its got a big intercooler already just needs , new injectors , new fuel pump , bigger turbo and manifold etc wudnt be more than 6grand to punch out 300 + on my gtst, but as for my gts still pondering, by the way u say it ur dissapointed at ur result i suppose? watsup? how much power u pulling? having problems with the car? a v8 conversion sounds good or even as geordie said a vq30dett my only problem is that the vq30dett is a gay engine to begin with its got power, but its gay! that guy that pulls 300 + in his silvia must have a really worked engine i think, infact it may not even be a vq30dett anymore LOL
  13. er, notice how i said i had 2 skylines, i already have a gtst (series 1) which pulls 200kw at the wheels rite now , only wit intercooler, 0.7bar boost, turbo back exhaust, and apexi power fc dyno tuned and ofcourse a pod filter so i was bored and went out to buy a project car a series 2 gts late 96 model rite now i got about 4.8 grand saved up and im planning on stuff to do for a good sleeper like either gtr engine, and some of the stuff u guys have suggested is good shit too, v8 engine i wudnt mind either, my goal is 11s for this car, then i'll go back to upgrading my gtst and give the gts to my lil brother
  14. lol how many of you have been given a defect for having a loud exhaust? Coz ive been getting away with it for a while and i better get a resonator to be safe, just a few questions , do i loose any power????????? (thats the most important factor LOL ) and How much is a fine for the defect lol.... hopefully i dont get pulled over until after i get the resonator thanks
  15. i derno its a project car, i already got a 95gtst so im pondering wat to do with this one, something different might try a turbo conversion and then move onto strengthening internals and wat not

  19. blitz one is fine you could get it for $99 at shift performance , try to get one that filters really good, for that id reccommend K&N pod filter
  20. guys i bought a 2nd skyline a this time a gts to see wat kinda power i cud make , sum1 suggested to me to get a rb30 bottom end and rb25 head while i save and get a rb26 head later, what kinda power can it make with a rb30 bottom end and rb25de head?

  23. hmm like the s15 with rb30 bottom end that makes 850kw , i see, how much am i looking at for the rb30 bottom end, nahh man im trying to make the ultimate sleeper, think abt it , no one suspects a GTS lol who wudnt wanna run a gts only to find out that it aint actually a GTS lol

OI this was about my engine lol i dont want a gtst mate i already have one (gtst and gts), i dun want another one, even with an rb30 bottom end lol i bought a gts so i can spend my spare time doing it up properly and see wat happens wen u seriously work a car, but yeah my two options are rb26dett or a big turbo conversion, which one ends up cheaper i wudnt know LOL im looking for big power for the ultimate sleeper no one suspects the gts ^_^
  25. If your serious about making it deadly and are on a tite budget, loose all ur seats mate.. LOL except the drivers side ofcourse, loose all the panels basically just have the necessities, and if u got a spare 1000 - 2000 in ur budget start with extractors , a 2.5" exhaust system and a new air filter
