  1. By coating, it's referring to ceramic coating, it lowers under bonnet (hood) temperatures by as much as 30-40 % as it retains the heat inside the exhaust system. The expanding HEAT ENERGY is what drives the turbocharger and NOT exhaust pressure as what a lot of us are led to believe - which is also the reason why the shorter the primaries the more efficient the turbo and why people try not to make them too long as this allows the exhaust flow to cool down too much to be of any use... so the more heat we keep inside the exhaust system, the more energy is available to spin the turbine wheel. It also gives a nice consistent shiny appearence. Im getting the turbo housing of my Garrett GT35R AND the manifold prepared in this process so I dont need to use that ugly heat wrap that gets dirty as soon as somebody touches it with greasy hands.......
  2. Hi guys. I spoke to my work mate today and he IS interested in doing these jobs as well as making up moulds for various carbon bits such as exhaust tip surrounds for the rear bumper and air diversion plate for the top of the radiator support panel. Feel free with any suggestions.... First things first, For all the people that are interested in getting their own components refinished in carbon fibre, I'll have to ask you to send me photos of the particular part preferably a few shots from various angles so we can see the in's and out's of the shape we'll be dealing with, we'll then contact you and give you a quote. If you decide to go ahead with the job, then we'll go from there. As each will be custom one-off's, it will be a first-in-first-served basis. But dont worry, nobody will miss out, it just mean you'll have to wait your turn.....like the tucker shop at lunch time back in primary school LOL Please send detailed and close-up photos of the component/s you wish to have customised in carbon fibre to [email protected] and we will get back to you. Cheers SIMON.
  3. Okay fellow Skyliners, There is obviously a HUGE interest in the idea of refinishing various components in carbon fibre, I am personally pretty good at moulding small simple parts, but when it comes to bigger and more difficult bits, I'll be honest with you guys, rather than stuffing up your nice wings and panels etc, I'll go have a chat with my work mate Matty that specialises in fibreglassing and deals with that area all day. He has many years of experience in moulding and re-coating in various materials including carbon and kelvar. I'll see if he's keen at doing these jobs - at least you can rest assured that it will be a good job. But let me warn you, it might be a little expensive on some of the more difficult parts as he'll probably charge by the hour OR he might charge by the part....I dont know. I cant speak for him so I'll see what he says and I'll get back to you guys. Will let you know. Simon.

  6. As a matter of fact, I dont look out my rear windscreen at all because all I see when I do is that great big GTR spoiler blocking the view..... But from what you say, it seems like you've got your gearbox permanently stuck in 'reverse' if you need to look out your rear windscreen so often.
  7. The other day, I won an auction on Ebay for a genuine Garrett GT3582R for $1500 which is too cheap for my liking, the seller also had zero feedbacks.....but he seem genuine and was not offended at all when I mentioned this to him and agreed to post it using COD via AUST POST. IF the seller is genuine, he/she should understand when asking for such a large amount of money for goods theyre selling - especially with all the scammers on the internet, they should be prepared to ship the item using COD at the cost of the buyer of course..... Well, I received a message from my turbo guy this morning saying he's posting it today so I'll find out how genuine he is.... HOWEVER, sometimes the transaction might start out being genuine with the seller wanting to sell a genuine item, but as soon as he/she receives the money, with BOTH the money AND the goods in hand, its just too easy for them to say 'Oh well, F*#k 'em' and hang onto the goods anyways. Its all down to how greedy the person is. This is a personal message I sent to Mr Greddy Coilovers here.... Youre a f**kin scumbag for ripping off that poor bastard for those coilovers. Its f**kheads like YOU that f**ks it for genuine sellers and buyers that would benefit from a great idea such as these forums. I hope you have a MAD HEAD-ON with those coilovers on your shitbox. SCUMBAG.
  8. Why werent it signed over right there and then ?? I wouldnt have let him leave until it was signed over. He could deny any deal and report his car stolen and you'd be f*cked. NOTHING STANDS UNTIL ITS ON PAPER..... You might think Im over reacting..... BUT This is how this world works.....friend or no friend.... Ive seen best mates turned into worst enermies because of something exactly like this. If I were you, Id be over there right now getting the rego papers of the EVO into your name. I hope you havent signed your GTR into his name yet ! YOU DONT OWN ANY EVO8 UNTIL YOU HAVE THE REGO PAPERS IN YOUR NAME - WITH HIS SIGNATURE ON IT........ By the way....Why the F*&k would you swap the mighty Godzilla for a shitbox 4-door Evo ?? R34 GTR > EVO8 MR
  9. * LOW MOUNT - GT3582R (T3 SINGLE ENTRY) - TURBOSMART 50mm EXTERNAL GATE - RB25DET - R33 I'll get it ceramic coated at Hi-Octane along with my turbine housing when I get that done.... STILL $1050 ?? YES you didnt read wrong - LOW MOUNT.
  10. I ran out of resins on last week so everything is on hold, I placed an order for more resin today along with more fabrics as well as waiting on some samples of coloured carbon in red and blue. Once the materials arrives, I will start producing some single, double and triple DIN panels. PLEASE NOTE: 'TRIPLE-DIN' refers to ONE SINGLE PANEL that covers 3x DIN slots and NOT three individual DIN sized panels. One of my mates, when he saw the 6-gauge and ashtray panels that I made, he likes them so much he wouldnt leave me alone until I agreed to let him have them, now he's going to buy 6x 52mm gauges just to fill up the panel ! I told him that if he waited, I'd make him up a set of panels to suit the number of gauges he needed but he insisted, so I had to remove all my gauges, switches and LEDs..... What a nut-case ! Oh well, whatever gets him thru the night I guess...... Anyways, for the guys that are wondering, prices will range between $50 - $100 (includes shipping to anywhere in Australia) depending on size that you want. Hang tight people, they're coming......
  11. WOW That means we both belong to a very very special group !!! LOL I reckon we could start the www.R33WithoutAnUglyRearWiper.com forum just dedicated for our unique breed...... I remember the very first night after I picked up my R33 from Japlink back in 2004, heart still pumping after living the best day of my life yet, lying in bed, thinking 'F*ck....what am I gonna do with that great big hole in the glass when I piss that ugly rear wiper off in the morning ??' Then when I got out there the next morning, I almost pass-out in joy ! hahaha One good turn deserves another ... one happy day followed by an even happier one ! I guess you just had to be there.....
  12. Yep, this R33 here is definitely factory-optioned without a rear wiper and now we know they DO exist........but not common at all. It indeed looks cleaner and smoother without one.....How many REAL sportscars have a ugly rear wiper ? Only Honda Civics and Toyota Corollas should have a rear wiper..... Nothing personal towards any of you guys that were unfortunate enough to cop one on their Skyline, we know it doesnt make it any less sportier hahaha. Oh yeah, I got a story for all the people that 'likes' the rear wiper.....Hmmmm..... I once knew this gronk, a total idiot.... He tripped over one day in front of the local shops, in front of all the popular chicks etc and made a total clown of himself, but you know what his reaction was when he got up ? 'Oh, I meant to go down there to see what dirt tastes like..... I meant to do it' Its okay guys, it's okay to admit that you HATE that ugly excuse for the dead weight that ruins the smooth lines on the back of your beautiful Skyline....Dont be ashame !! Im sure the Prince designers at Nissan that was responsible for it got a bullet between their eyes for it. However, I have more respect for the guys that admit that they hate it, ripped the bastard off and plug the glass up with one of those Ebay rubber plugs. HAHAHAHA Only kidding fellas. I love stirrin As for the people that claims how useful the rear wipers are....... IS IT THAT MUCH OF A CHORE TO GET YA ASS OUT THERE AND WIPE THE REAR WINDOW ???? OR EVEN MORE, DONT YOU WASH YOUR CAR YA LAZY FLUCKS ? LOL
  13. This is what the material looks like.....genuine carbon fabric. These are photos of the testing stage, * Focusing isnt the best as I tried to get close to capture the finish - No bubbles at all due to the type of resin I use. Most people use polyester resins which is thick and therefore traps the air bubbles, this is okay for fibreglass as it's usually painted over. But for carbon fibre, because transparency is required, the clearer the better to capture the lush effects of the carbon fabric. Even most epoxy resins people use is not clear enough for my liking. The resin I use is water-thin; a special casting resin specially developed for it's extra clear properties. In this application, it is applied in thinner coats which is more time consuming, but it does not trap air bubbles like polyester and by looking at the photos, you will not find anything else that's as clear as this in terms of finish. It's so smooth you can see my reflection off it. This resin is also UV-resistant therefore it can be used for exterior components as well - Im about to mould a carbon blade for my GTR wing to see how that would turn out..... Photo of finished product coming soon.
  14. I just keep 'Skyline' , 'GTR' and related searches under FAV SEARCHES in my Ebay profile. Make sure you are on the American Ebay when you save them under that section - otherwise it'll only search in the Oz Ebay. Then I have a browse once every night or two after work. You still have to put in some effort...even for bargains ! As with my other sets, I would much prefer to keep them as spares considering we all know what a b*tch they are to come by. However, my advice is to keep watch as they're beginning to pop up more frequently now compared to a couple of years back, I see them come up on average once or twice a month, the last set I saw on USA EBay about 3 weeks ago went for USD $280 - I was going to do a last second ALL-OUT bid but went out with a chick and totally forgotten about it LOL... shit happens.
  15. Im after expressions of interest for carbon fibre panels in 1,2 and 3 DIN sizes to mount your gauges, rocket switches, turbo timer or boost controller in your air-con control and stereo slots ? These panels will be made out of high quality SUPER CLEAR epoxy resins and A-grade carbon fibre fabric. Panels will be supplied as blanks so you can cut whatever size holes you like for your gauges or switches etc..... Just an idea .... I've gotten rid of the ash tray in the centre console in my R33, replaced it with a piece of carbon fibre panel that surrounds the face of my Greddy turbo timer..... nice n neat. I've also relocated the aircon control to inside the glovebox by extending the wiring harness (TOOK ME AGES !!!), pissed the stereo off (rather listen to the Garrett) and mounted 6x Autometer Cobalt gauges along with 4 rocket launcher switches (fuel pumps, fans, intercooler sprayer etc) and their respective led lights onto a 3-DIN carbon panel..... FULL RACE CAR LOOK....even more so with my Safety21 cage lol Anyways.... I can also supply carbon fibre fabric / sheets for repairs jobs.....Ive even bonded the stuff to my strut towers in the engine bay to stiffen them up ! I will post up photos of the finished product(s) soon.....watch this space..... Message or email me if you are interested - [email protected] Cheers.
  16. LOL Yes - FMS - When you go to FMS, ask for Matt and tell him Simon the Skyline freak sent ya. FMS is no longer at Abbott road but theyre just off Powers Road, only around the corner.
  17. LOL I'll give you guys a hint, KEEP AN EYE ON EBAY IN AMERICA. I picked up a close-to-new pair for $150 USD shipped to me in Sydney ! $50 of that was shipping !! A lot of yank importers do what importers do here, they go to all the wreckers over in Japan and grab lots of parts, stuff it all into containers and ship them back to the US and sell the parts off. The good thing for us is, they dont have many Skylines over there, if any !! When I came across those lights, the (dumb) seller didnt even know what car they were off, all he knew was they were originally off a Nissan. He listed them with a starting bid of 99cents, the only other people that would buy them are 240SX (200sx / Silvia) owners that use them for a headlight conversion.....and they're mostly after series one lights as the shape is more suited for what they want it for.....bloody yanks....wanna-be Skylines.. LOL Anyways, I have 2 spare pairs of S2 headlights besides the pair currently on the car and neither pair cost me anything over $200 a pair from the states. None of them has any fogginess to them....crystal clear like glass. So yeah, make a habit of keeping an eye on Ebay over there.
  18. Another Skyline owner asked a similar question recently on Facebook's SAU page and he wanted to know how to go about getting to 200rwkw. This was my reply: To squeeze EVERYTHING out of the 'factory' setup * Turbosmart bleed style boost controller ($100) - up the boost to 11psi to be safe, an electronic controller would be better to eliminate boost creep * Split dumppipe ($80 - $100 Ebay) - to get rid of the restrictive factory dump and to eliminate turbulance caused by the internal wastegate when it opens at max boost * 3 inch Hi flow CAT CONVERTOR ($300) - Unit for compliance is SH*T....even go to a Jap wrecker or a compliance joint and get a factory GTR cat - they flow good and cheap. * A decent 3 inch exhaust (chinese - $400 on Ebay or $1000+ for a name brand) - remember, a pipe is a pipe ! whatever brand BUT NO LESS than 3 inch... as long as it's below 91db.... * FMIC - You'll NEED one by the time you hit 180rwkw and to go any further * Walbro intank 255lt/hr pump (genuine one - $180 on Ebay) - to give more fuel pressure * Adj fuel pressure regulator (Nismo or SARD - $200) - set it at 45psi to squeeze the most out of the factory injectors..... * Higher flowing aftermarket injectors (Nismo 720cc - $1200) - factory injectors will take you to about 180rwkw before they reach 100% duty cycle....ie run out of flow......after that, then you'll need these which will lead to the need for a device to control them such as : * A piggy back unit to control the new injectors & AIR/FUEL ratio as you dont want to lean the engine out (too much air & not enough fuel) or it will cause detonation AND eventually BANG ! OR preferably an aftermarket ECU - APEXI POWER FC is a plug & go unit - VERY USER FRIENDLY..... I CAN GO ON FOREVER .........but this is as far as it takes to get you to 200rwkw As you see, most of the above is to get rid of the restrictions on the flow of air going in and coming out of the engine..... free it up and more power - Its a rule that been around as long as the combustion engine.... Its a domino effect, one thing leads to the need for another etc.....Its a bottomless moneypit once you start..... Trust me, after spending a total figure of 5 digits starting with a '5' and still counting (Ive got my new custom GCG-built GT3566R sitting on my desk with a 6boost manifold waiting to go on... WHAT A TEASE !!)......but at the end of the day, the smile you get everytime you step on that go-pedal.....ITS ALL WORTH IT. Good luck.
  19. A few clips, easy. I made new ones with carbon fibre. By that I dont mean that dodgy Ebay stick-on crap. I got the original strips, made a pair of moulds using tooling-gelcoat and fibreglass, then using the moulds, I popped a pair of custom ones out of super-clear epoxy resin and real carbon fibre fabric. I should start selling them on here and make a killing ! Im also thinking about making some end caps for the GTR wing outof carbon. What do you think ?
  20. Make sure you DO reseal it with 'GOOO' lol Otherwise you'll turn your spare wheel well into swimming pool. Also, just in case, there's a rubber gromet under the spare wheel, I took my one off to drain any water that happens to get trapped there. A bit of fish oil or rustproof spray is also a good idea as Skylines have a tendency to rust around there.
  21. I have a set of Konig Netz in 19inch that originally came off a phat-ass S15, 19x9 - 38mm offset (245 tyres 35 profile) and 19x9.5 - 40mm offset (275 / 35), they sit perfectly inside the guards without the need to roll the lips, even tho I did because Im going to reduce the excess camber by bringing out the tops of the wheels using a pair of adjustable upper arms on the rear. If you dont want to roll the guards, then go with 235 or 245 tread on the rear tyres and go for the drift / stretched look.
  22. Of course the GTR wing is the best for the R33.... It left the drawing board with it ! by looking at the way the bootline sits and the way the wing is moulded into the shape of the boot, its obvious the R33 was originally designed with that spoiler by the Skyline Gods, take it away and its like a sexy playboy centrefold minus the titties
  23. Spewing youre in Perth ! I have a genuine GTR wing off a Vspec in A+++++ condition sitting here and I already have one on my R33, I picked it up along with two spare doors from a guy that was building a race car and replaced his with fibreglass items......but Im in Sydney....unless you want to orgainse courier, Im more than happy to take it to the depot for u.
  24. Hi guys, Im just curious, I own a 1997 series 2 R33 GTS25T and it came from the factory without a rear wiper. I dont mean it was taken off with the hole plugged up in the glass, it was optioned without it from the factory and even the washer bottle in the engine bay has only one water pump instead of two. I just want to know how common this is......How many of you guys own a R33 that left the factory like this ?? Cheers
  25. Performance_wise, do you sense you're being ignored ? hmmmmmm smells like a un-bathed chick's inner thighs..... Why dont you ring him on his posted phone number - 0433002228 ?
