  1. I got big balls and a big knob. Works for me.............
  2. Clutch cable???? If you do a search man you'll find that it's been covered heaps before. To cut a long story short: Master cylinder rubbers Slave cylinder rubbers low fluid = air pocket Pivot Pressure plate Pedal bracket
  3. Squeeze the band to see if there's a solid brass ring in it. The band may be there but the restictor may also have been removed.
  4. On the driver's side suspension tower, you'll see 2 small black hoses going into a silver cylindrical gadget. On one of the hoses there may be yellow band, this is where the restrictor is placed. Whoever did the job may have just cut the restrictor out instead of kneading it out, so you may not have the yellow band. In any event, this is where it goes.
  5. A guy I know is selling one here in WA for $23,500. It's a 1995 V-Spec with only 84k on the clock. I put the stereo in it and I can say that it's a good buy for what he's asking. Have a look and judge for yourself. http://www.carsales.com.au/used-cars/priva...our&trecs=1
  6. If you're mechanically minded, replace the engine. By the time you factor in parts, and testing, in the end it could cost the same amount as a replacement engine. I have seen RB20DET's go for as little as $500 which would definitely be the cheapest option for you if you did the job yourself with a willing mate.
  7. If you're going to do it, do it right man. Bog won't cut it in the spoiler holes. The only way to do it is to weld some blanks in and finish it. Bog doesn't expand at the same rate as metal and as a result will pop out. I've seen many poor jobs done like this in my time and really, it's not worth it. The ONLY time bog should be used is sparingly to eliminate small surface imperfections. Other than that, steel infills and a dolly are the answer.
  8. At the end of the day guys, there's still no denying their capability:
  9. Because while you're there with the front of the engine off, it's easier to spend the money on a water pump and replace it then. For the cost of the water pump, it justifies replacing it while you're doing the belt. The last thing you want to do is kick your own arse if in 10,000km your pump shits itself and you have to rip the front off again. It may last 200,000km, but some (me included) would rather not risk it. It's up to what you decide in the end man. Good luck.
  10. The 34's SMIC is good for 200kW. Unless you are pushing this limit your money would be better spent elsewhere. Unless it's purely for aesthetics of course.
  11. If you do a search you'll find a fair bit of info on this subject. Basically what ducati02 has stated is correct, the AFM/fuel ratios spit it because of the loss of charge in the intake and the ECU over-fuels to compensate. The only fix is to use a hybrid BOV which recirculates and vents to atmo, though this isn't 100% effective and the car can still stall. If you were to use an ECU that utilises a MAP sensor, you can do away with the AFM and vent 100% to atmo without stalling. Though this is a bit extreme for a bit of noise. Unless you're running high boost pressure, the stock bypass valve is very effective, though fairly quiet.
  12. If that had been the case, then why did the workshop deny driving it? If they were doing the right thing, they would have told the customer on collection that they had just taken it around the block to test the alignment, not flatly deny driving it when s(he) found out that it was driven.
  13. I too share the same sentiment. While the RB26DETT is an amazing engine, it too has its fault as do all engines. I am a bit partial to the rotary as the power to displacement ratio is excellent, and there's nothing like the sound and sight of a huffed rotary at full song pulling a 50M wheelie. I like them all, from V12's, to V10's, to V8's to sixes to fours, and to rotors, they all have a purpose that another may not match or fulfill. Try swapping a V12 from a Lambo into an RX-3 and a 13BT into a Lambo. It just won't work as well.
  14. Tell me where you live. I'll break into your house without leaving a mark. I'll go through all of your things without leaving a trace. I'll check out your mail, bills and financial statements without leaving a trace. I'll check out your photo albums and put them back in exactly the same place. I'll check out your computer and go through it with a fine tooth comb, then clear the history and shut it down. Then you can find out somehow that I had done this. Wouldn't you feel violated? I didn't break anything. I didn't leave any marks anywhere. I just did something without your permission and knowledge. Technically in the eyes of the law I can be charged, but according to some here, I should be allowed to get away with it because I did no harm. The principal of the matter has been lost.
  15. You've answered your own question. They are thirsty buggers and their weakest link is the apex seals.
  16. ^^^^ +1. The setting should stay at recirculating after you turn your car off, then restart.
  17. Other causes off the top of my head are a faulty climate control and wiring.
  18. I think there's 2 lots of opinions here. 1: The guy who tracks his car and thrashes it. 2: The guy who loves his car and baby's it. #1 is saying who cares and #2 is saying you should. I fall under the category of #1, but I would still care if someone took my car to the shop to get lunches and didn't inform me of it, ask my permission, and denied using it. They may have pussy-footed the car but they may have drift-linked 5 streets, the big issue here though is trust. What they did is technically theft. You cannot take a car without the owner's consent and there is no reason to test drive a car that had panel work done. What if they had written the car off? What if the cops caught them slamming it into a corner and impounded the car under the hoon law? What if they had blown the engine or transmission and told the owner that they didn't drive it and it came to them like that? There are too many what if's to bring into play here. The bottom line is that they did it without permission, and the owner loves his car and trusted the body shop to do the right thing, and they failed.
  19. Won't argue with that. There's just no more sideways hill parking so the leaning incident probably won't happen again.
