HYBRID VL

Just got back from overseas and once again Rego and service time. Supercheap auto cant find my plates on their list to match my car to buy a crush washer lolol. NRMA has my number plate linked to R35 GTR which i have explained once again that it is not a GTR. Its scary in the sense that if somthing happens and my insurance wont cover me if its the wrong car on their list even though they are the ones that have made the mistake. Im not sure NIGHTCRAWLER why the neg comment? Its a 2020 V37 400R Skyline? and asking for someone to post their VIN number is crazy just to prove it? Its a legit Nissan Skyline from japan factory 400R its does use the Q50 infinity chasis but this is the Japan model.

im sure mine stays in gear and wont shift unless i shift it? and for sure it wont go back to Auto mode if its put in manual mode? if i use paddles but its still in D then of course it goes back to auto mode. but yer if its in -+ and i use paddles it will not auto change gears what so ever and i have tried this. it will gear down if at a stop though which is kinda nice but goes back to 1st gear not D. i think it used to be like this with imports aswell i dunno if its really like it anymore like when i got my R33 it had alot of JDM options which local cars didnt have. Now local cars have kinda caught up even the lower models. but yer transfer rates and other things makes it almost on par.

You could do that by all means. but yer it shouldnt be hard to get a VR30 to 400hp with an ECUtek on stock everything.

so will this basically make the gearbox decent? because it takes imo so long to shift gears and even drop back. the response when you have it in manual mode is laot better but even the shift is like not instant will this change that?

also the 400R will probley hold its value more but dont forget there is a Nismo model 400R aswell.

from what i was told alot of options you can choose to get from the factory when buying a new Q50 you get standard with a Redsport or 400R. Paddle shifters and so on plus the sports+ mode isnt on all standard Q50's im sure the wheels look different plus the 400R kit looks the best next to the LBWLK kit. im sure there is alot more things that are different and im sure mine has LSD standard rear. im sure i was told suspension is different aswell and turbos.

shannons wasnt far off what i was paying tbh. so i will check out Lumley and i dont track the car at all. but yer this is definitley a 2020 Nissan Skyline 400R and yer im sure i will have trouble telling my insurance i have a Q50 RS simply because its not the car i have even though its the same build. and yes i did buy it from a dealership.

Im paying a hell of an insurance at the moment for my car but im sure they are basing it off a R35 GTR price? When i try to get a quote or even give them my number plate to get to even try they ask is my registration cancelled? and that they cant find it even though its fully registered. they tell me there is no 2020 Model Skyline and then i tell them its an Infiniti Q50 Redsport equiv in the USA the insurance is half price to what they setup for me calling the car a Skyline. this is through NRMA and i tried Allianz and i got the same issue with the model not exsisting. I know i cant say its an Infiniti because in the case of insurance payout they will just say its not the same car. i know there is a few V37 Nissan Skyline 400R's in Australia what have you guys done for your insurance? am i doing something wrong?

i have 2 MTX thunder amps they do have the line input aswell but i have no idea where the connectors are to use. so for ease of being able to run 2 sets of RCA leads im just using the convertor.

i was thinking that the 2 wires that go to the sub from factory has some sort of preamp like you mentioned and also a lo Pass filter to get just bass. now that will only use 1 channel and that really should be all i need for a sub? if i was trying to put a set of speakers in the back i can understand cutting into the left and right speaker wires. i will try how im talking about doing it and if that is crap i will do it the way of all wires. thanks for the input guys.

as we all know the Q50 stereo from factor has no RCA outs so i bought a Kicker output line convertor to use from the factory sub. but im wondering as the device has L+ L- R+ R- which ones do i use for my subwoofer? its only going to be 2 wires as im not worrying about doing my stock speakers just my sub. do i just use the 2 L+ L- or do i use a combo of L+ R- or what?

are you going to basically gut the interior and remove most things like electric window motors and all heavy addons for weight saving? i have been really interested in this thread and i love it when you post something up. is adjustable suspension the only way you can modify the weight shift?

well all done was crazy how many screws i had to undo to get that plastic plate off. but replaced with 5w30 Edge and new filter went about 5.5lts of oil over the 5.3lt standard though i noticed abit of crusty coolant on my undertray looks like its come down from the overflow out that has no pipe? should it have a pipe? also could be just me but i noticed loud ticking now that maybe i just didnt notice before(not that i had my engine running with bonnet up much). anyone else notice this maybe after changing to 5w30 over 0w20 oil?

yep just done that lol. also got the RYCO filter Z436ST which is apparently slightly better flow and rubber grip outside lol. supercheap told me to not go against the manufacturers nominated oil aswell lol. i went with Castrol EDGE 5w-30 was going to go magnatec but was not sure. but i used Edge in my WRX and had great results so we will see. Thanks heaps for your input guys.

hmmm says on here 5.3lt anyways. and yer you guys are right Nissan is saying use 0w-20 lol
