nice Mark! 56 is moving at Lakeside! Its a challenging place to learn - especially in such a fast car. You're going very well. Loking at the minimum speeds in corners you're pretty well on the money as far as I'm concerned. Stokell day looks like a good way to go and get the lines down pat. tell you what, that bump on the left hander between carousell and the bridge is alot worse at your speed! jeezus!

if he had no KERS at all, his radio message to the team that he had no KERS on lap 24 seems quite strange.
-
like the "facts" the only reason he only couldn't pass the backmarkers was because he had no KERS and was on hards vs their softs? which were both wrong. he reported his KERS not working on lap 24. And he spent the 14 laps before that stuck behind a Sauber and a Force India while they were all on softs. That's not me with a negative viewpoint. that's what happened in the race. You and wolverine on the other hand, just got all carried away with the webber excuse book. I haven't seen anything to suggest that both drivers don't have the same equipment at RBR. The fact he was the fastest car in the race by 1.4 sec shows there was nothing wrong with his car during qualifying. its parc ferme between then and the race apart from fuel, and tyre choice for those outside the top 10. I think it was a good drive, but the facts are the passes he made (not counting the ones that re-passed him on the track) were: Petrov on hards with Mark on Softs. Not awesome. Schumacher passed Petrov easier a lap earlier. Schumacher: Mark blew past him up the straight due to a much faster car and DRS. A couple of guys nursing worn out tyres after 2 stopping and a guy even people with stuffed tyres passed because he was trying not to run out of fuel. It was a good drive, but far and away the main factors were awesome pit strategy (something the Weber apologists often quick to blame when he doesn't do well) and better rubber than everyone else.
-
don't see where I put shit on him. just pointing out the facts. to be honest, Webber fans shit me to tears. If he doesn't do well there's a myriad excuses and cospiracy theories, then when he does OK its all down to him being the greatest, not the team's pit strategy, which in this case made 10 of the 15 positions for him.

fanboi alert - post may contain facts and realism

he had KERS until end of his second stint. And even in that second stint on his nice shiney new softs, he couldn't pass the Sauber or Force India who were right in front of him.
-
as much as I don't like him, Hamilton worked that out before China. And he won because of it. only because of the massive advantage of green softs. not because he got an injection of awesome in the first pit stop. Before that he couldn't even pass the back markers... I think he made 2 positions in 17 laps or something before pitting??

yeah right - you think if Mark's car had a misfire the whole world wouldn't have heard about it by now? lol

the S13 I linked has an RB20 I think the SR would be a better package in that chassis for a track car though. If you really want a 6cyl just for the sound, I'd go for the R32 over R33. I'm yet to see a budget R33 do anything much on the track. And RB20's sound better than 25's which is, after all, the most important thing -

S13 is the go for cheap fasts. Something like this would be a good starting point - its got all the basics there - brakes, coilovers, power... A bit of fine tuning to the suspension, a set of semis, and you'll be flying http://www.uniquecarsales.com.au/pls/unique/!unique_content.enquiry?current_rec=51&page_number=6&vehicle_id=9343167&total_rec=71&sort_type=1&price_max=10000&keywords=silvia&photo_flag=1 -
it will be - Nissan love to put a hole in the steel part of the brake pedal that operates the brake switch, then fill the hole with a piece of plastic that breaks after 20 years. They;ve been doing it since the 70s at least in the old Dattos I've had. the temporary fix to get you home with brake lights working is a coin taped on over the hole. You can fill cover the hold with anything you like and adjust the switch height - doesn't have to be the genuine nissan part. I've filled them with fibreglass or a bolt before. I think my Patrol still has the 10c coin and racetape there a year or more later. lol

yeah the QR Wed Arvo Sprints have 2 sessions on Clubman track and 2 sessions on Sprint track. Not sure if I'll do the autocross or the QR thing... the weather could decide for me if i don't make up my mind beforehand
-
not so sure now... Autocross on the 17th or QR Sprint & Clubman tracks on Wed 20th instead?

Round 2 of the Autocross series is just 2 weeks away - April 17. I'll definitely be back out there for another run. Ben? Peter?

good stuff Brett! I've recently re-discovered my love of dirt. An unfortunate side effect is wanting to get back into rallying... unbeatable adrenaline rush, but you certainly have to pay for it. These type of events are much better value for money, but don't compare to the forest. Its just enough to whet the appetite...
-
good stuff! its awesome fun. might want to whack some mudflaps on it - reduces cleaning time by hours! lol A couple more events and I'll be able to make my own autocross track at home...

yep, its very rare to find a LT tyre with anything liek that load rating! I guess that's why they're $500ea! (Four LT tyres rated to the same total weight would probably set you back about $250) Just be careful if you ever replace the tyres that you get one with the right load rating for the job. FWIW they're being a bit cheeky with the ATM of 3200kg and tyres rated to a total of 2900kg. I guess the 10% ball weight must make it legit???
-
on the other hand they are trying to sell their gear - they're not going to tell you its shit. not when they're charging almost $20K for a trailer! The single axle design has got to be alot more sensitive to load positioning than a tandem axle. I don't think you can get a light truck tyre rated to their claimed 2900kg ATM. That's a tyre load rated to at least 1450kg. I think LT load ratings only go to 1200kg. I wouldn't like to get a blowout on a single axle trailer either.
-
hehe can you get 4WD tyres for 22" chromies?
-
If you hadn't gone and riced up the R32 so much you would have a car to enter! The Hemi might not beat the WRXs and EVOs that it would probably get lumped in with, but it would be a laugh! Borrow Giant's EVO? I can't do the 20th dirt sprint - will be on my way to the Daintree for a couple of weeks, but will do the next Autocross on April 17.

Who Is Using The 215 Mini Slicks?
hrd-hr30 replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I had Kumho 215 slicks on 8" rims and they were a bit narrow for the wheels. Had 240 width slicks on 9" rims and they were about the same, but different brands are sized differently... -
the F40 is alright but its predecessor, the 288 GTO, is the one to lust after.
