  1. yeah i was thinking that ( say its the head ) i spent 8k on doing the head but then the bottom end goes and i gotta do that @Duncan
  2. It started having boost problems In the top end of the boost range, so I decided to check all the hoses and the turbos themselves to see if they had shaft play which they didn't but with my boost controller I could have half boost feed the engine and it seemed to hold that fine, also changed a few clamps over regarding to the hoses cause they were a bit crap and replaced a flange section which had a crack in it, after fixing all that it still didn't run properly and couldn't figure it out so make life easier I decided to change it for a single but then once the singles were out mate told Me to do a comp test Write to @Ben C34
  3. Hi everyone hope all is well I have a new question if anyone can shed some light to me I took my r32 gts4 rb26 to the mechanics and they ran a compression test on it The results don’t look good CYL 1 160 Cyl 2 160 Cyl 3 162 Cyl 4 100 Cyl 5 145 Cyl 6 150 This was a cold compression test because the car isn’t able to run at the moment (no turbos on it) The shop that done the tests also quoted me 1.5k to strip down and tell me what they find. I told them wouldn’t it be more reliable to do a leak down test? After speaking a close friend he said he doesn’t understand why Cyl 4 would be so different to the others. I also spoke to another jdm expert shop that builds rbs and they said theirs no point putting OEM parts again because they are 25-30 years old and that I’m better off forging the engine. They said 12-14k solid forged long motor + removal , re fit, fluids , gaskets, parts , tuning will be extra. wanting to do a leak down test before i pay the mechanic to do a strip down, is that worth it? or better off doing the leak test to find the issue? cheers
  4. kind of hoping engine is cooked so i can drop $$$ on a forged set up @robbo_rb180
  5. soon its gonna be "im happy with 700hp" hahah @Murray_Calavera
  6. Hi I have a set of GT2859R-9s that im wanting to rebuild and put on my rb26 gts4 32. I am wanting to push around 400-500hp and was wondering is that possible? to note the car has the following mods 880cc injectors, echuast, apexi fc commander, oem fuel pump. should i do any other mods because the turbos are out? also what ecu do people recommend (in future im wanting to go single turbo set up) thanks all!
  7. true mate but with 660hp shouldnt the engine be forged to handle that power? @GTSBoy
  8. exactly same set up my mate said too, How much can i expect to push with that and a better ecu if needed @GTSBoy
  9. is that true? how much can i sell em for they are less than 20 xxx kms old and are GT2859R-9 @joshuaho96 @The Bogan
  10. Hi mate, Thanks heaps! Honestly just a weekend car, id be happy with 350-400ish hp @PranK
  11. Hi all to the community, I am new in the JDM scene and i am so exited! i would like some advice from all and possibly what i can do, will try to add as much as detail in for everyone ! I have recently purchased a r32 gts4 skyline with a rb26 in it. so the previous owner had it for 6 years and always serviced ect it every 5000kms, the engine now has 180 xxx kms on it. back to the question, he had issues with the twins so he removed them and bought a single turbo garret gtw3884 and a manifold and wastegate to suit. he then lost interest and the car sat for 6 months. i have purchased the car like this and went to 2 tuning shops these are my options Also i have made contact and the previous owner is happy to give me the previous twin turbos (gt2859r-9) - 20 xxx kms old 1) tune shop 1- chuck n5s 2860s turbos, artec aftermarket manifold, hpi dump pipe + tune (parts 6k) + labour 4k (with tuning) 2) tune shop 2- bring the car in (with the twins again) and they will have a look at it because it might be the load limit and the turbos might be fine. they also said i might have to look into a rebuild as its at 180 000kms. 3) ???? also its got a old school apexi fc commander and i am planning to get a haltec ecu, walbro fuel pump and a few other bits mods that i also know the car has is 880cc injectors, oem high flow. thanks everyone for reading this! i hope all is having a lovely day / night
  12. The twins were brand new and put in 2015 (GT2859R-9) had 180 on the clock - Now has 211 xxx
  13. Got it mate thanks heaps, the old turbos are GT2859R-9s and the cars got a oem fuel pump, 880cc injectors and apexi fc comanders and on the dyno it hit 370hp i was hopping to hit around 400ish. is that possible with the twins? and also yes hes got all the bolts and parts for the twin turbo set up only thing it will need is an oil line because he cut it @Murray_Calavera
