  2. Thanks for the replys Dunc & Abe; I have already run seatools though, hence the mention of: not my PC, but you know how it is, I want to give her the PC back running as it should. Might still throw in a spare HDD that I have, and do a clean install there. Will also reseat & run a test on the memory. cheers!
  3. given the hdd format, reinstalled clean copy of the os. runs fine first few times. throw in all the drivers, few reboots, good as gold. do a windows update - reboot, f**ked. master boot sector disappears. repair that with system recovery, back in as normal. go to install a few apps, windows installer now wont run. repair that, reboot, then i get the "no operating system" exists message / pc doesnt recognise the os. and i've done this whole process with unsatisfactory results around 4 times now since thursday night. so pebcak you reckon? do enlighten me with a solution Dunc... i haven't started ruling out hardware (except the hdd) yet.
  4. helping a friend of mine with a sick pc this weekend / on win vista. how the hell did microsoft get away with selling this f**king shambles of an OS...?
  5. not wrong Rod. Theifs are c***s, and theyre not stupid. I've lived very close to magill my entire life, this stuff has always happened. The media usually shows you where the f**kers end up writing off cars at the end of the high speed chases in the far outer suburbs
  6. hope he gets it back
  7. seen going up the freeway hey? gotta doubt thet it'll eventually be found as a complete car no offense to JMS; leaving project cars out front of the business in the dark is stupidly risky.
  8. Not all of them. Mine doesnt - and i dont think it's just a sedan thing either, as I know of other sedans with them in the boot, and coupes with under bonnet. Unless customised in Japan or something hey yep, dry cell afaik.

  20. Great build mate! Taken a look at this thread a few times over the past 6-12 months; the X has come a long way. Good on ya for pursuing your plans with it Sounds very nice in the video clips too.

  24. If you didnt get a sticker on the window, I wouldnt worry too much Domenic. Tidy the bits up that the guys have mentioned and you'll be fine. Even though the officer pointed out bits like unplugged sensors, it doesn't necissarily mean he knows what he's talking about. Tuck them out of view so there's nothing to pick on. The usual deal to keep in mind - if an officer thinks something is defectible, he'll ping ya. And the party starts there!
