  1. didn't get one with the turbo!
  2. As the topic says i had a look on ebay but can't find any. does anyone know if you can buy these yet?
  3. just pulled mine off my car and upgraded to a z32, works fine. Contact me via sms on 0401219230 ash!
  4. Have a Freshly rebuilt VG30 Turbo. This is off the single turbo 300zx! Its done less than 1000kms at 10PSI. I paid: $320 for the turbo $220 for the rebuild $35 for the RB25 elbow pipe to retain the standard cooler piping position. Asking $450 for the lot. also have a few other parts that can be found in this thread: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...opic=103692&hl= Some things include a series 2 Rb20 ball bearing turbo in excellent condition with the elbow pipe! easiest way to contact me is via my mobile on 0401219230
  5. i'd be keen, i want to do more track days etc, would be good!
  6. So is anyone out there able to help me out with these things? 1.) So far i've worked out i need a new dump pipe (different flange!) 2.) New oil and water lines (not sure where to get these from or what exactly to ask for!) 3.) 90 degree bend welded on the inducer/cooler pipe so it faces the front of the car for the standard cooler piping. (figure this would be better than using a 90 degree bit of silicone hose) 4.) do i need to rotate the front housing on the exhaust housing?????? 5.) The other thing i have noticed today is that i'm running the standard afm rubber pipe and its too small at the end where you hose clamp it to the front compressor, so what do people do in this situation running bigger turbo's with an AFM?
  7. ye it is the 1.06 housing, not really too worried about the lag, the things great off boost and will hopefully improve my fuel economy too! I guess it will be a good comparisson to yours once tuned!
  8. have already started worrying about my gearbox and diff, they will definitely be the next things i do! Do you think that its possible though for the 14psi actuator to max out my injectors though, was thinking i'd just hook up my boost controller then it can be tuned to 10/12/14 psi!
  9. don't wanna pull the head off yet so i think i'll stick with the na valve springs for a while! What do you think about the GTR fuel pump? When i take it to Shaun to get tuned i'm just going to tell him to tune it to within a safe range for my injectors sake, i'll honestly be happy with 250@the rears for now (so i have time to upgrade gearbox and diff)! Do you know if the wastegate on the xr6t is like the rb20 ones where it lets more boost out with things like exhaust etc or will it stick to 6/7psi? Cause i was thinking i might not even worry about a boost controller!
  10. ye, damn priorities, hehe! i think the guy can get them on a fairly regular basis so let me know when you keen and i'll see if he can get one!
  11. hoping this is the best spot to ask this question...................got myself an xr6t today and have just been working out what i need to bolt it up to my standard rb20det manifold on my rb30det so anyone who was done this on an rb25det or rb30det please help me out! Anything else that i've missed or needed please let me know. I also have the standard na valve springs (R32 rb25de head) and only a GTR fuel pump. These are the only 2 things on my engine that i think could be a possible weakness. Do you guys think these things should be fine or should i upgrade these first. The car has been on the dyno not too long ago and the valve spring were showing no sign of floating and the fuel pump was said to be up to the task with the vg30 turbo. Any thoughts on these things are greatly appreciated! cheers in advance, Ash!
  12. i've got the turbo sitting here in front of me and the more i look at it and tap it with things the more i think it is actually steel, i think the thing that was getting me confused i guess is where the blades start there quite thick and just don't really look steel. The guy i got the turbo off said he might be able to get a couple more if u got the cash and are interested. Was used on a demo car so has a slight discolouration, so i'm doubting any octane boost has been used
  13. The reason i think its ceramic is because it looks the same as my vg30 exhaust wheel and doesn't feel or sound like steel when you touch it.
  14. where's this dyno day? Wouldn't mind checking it out.
  15. got my turbo back today and Bill says there seems to be nothing wrong with it and seems fine. Time for a compression test. looks like excess blow by i hope/think!
  16. ok guys just picked myself up an xr6t. now i was under the impression that the rear exhaust wheel was steel but the one i have here is what looks to be ceramic. Now before you say anything this is definitely an xr6 turbo, it has an a/r of .50 and internally gated with a rear exhaust housing of 1.06. It has the ford badge thing stamped on the exhaust housing and has Garrett and M12 stamped on the front compressor housing. It is also brand new, never been used! Can anyone explain? Did any come out with a ceramic wheeled exhaust housing?
  17. Don't worry i want more than anyone to find out whats going on with the turbo and won't be doing anything until i source the problem! Put it this way the turbo will probably max out my injectors if i got Shaun to push it hard enough! (definitely won't be doing this though) I only got the turbo cause it was at a price that was too good to refuse otherwise i would've just persisted with the vg30!
  18. thought i would have heard from him by now. since i have a day off tomorrow i'll be heading down there to find out what's going on!
  19. i suppose that could have happened but i would really hope not! i'm guessing the only way you can tell if there not there is by pulling the head off isn't it?
  20. i do run all the standard breather hoses etc. so i do run that one. I'll be pretty dissappointed if all this oil has been a result of blow-by cause i think that means the engine was put together pretty ordinarily! The turbo is now at ATS being inspected but it doesn't really matter what wrong with it anyway cause i now have a new snail, hehe!
  21. this sounds exactly what has happened to me, thanks for your help!
  22. i just got the turbo off to find no oil in the intake where the elbow bolts to the top of the compressor but plenty of oil in the front compressor where the afm pipe bolts to the turbo! Does this suggest anything to anyone out there?
  23. thats it, not sure what i'll do yet but what i do know is whatever i decide it will mean more power, yay!
  24. turns out my oil leaks points to bein a blown turbo, won't be there!
  25. well took all the spark plugs out yesterday to check for any oily residue etc to hint at rings being gone but they are all fine. The turbo is almost off and appears to be the source of all my oil problems. Will update soon once the turbo has been checked out!
