i probably ideally wanted a .82 but at the moment you can't get a 35/40 with an internal gate (wanted this for the more stocky look) but when the 35/40 came up for sale at a really good price with the 1.06 housing i couldn't refuse and to be honest i haven't regretted it for a second, it is very streetable with the torque the Rb30 produces and i'm only going through 10L/100kms of fuel now due to not it being on boost all the time! Just need some new diff gears now so that i can use first and second a little more!
-
just went outside to take pictures of the keyhole and i can't find anything on the diff that even resembles a keyhole??????????????
-
i'd definitely be keen for the motorkhana, really wanna get my car out to a few of these 'off road' days!
-
i'm keen for a little cruise out there! leaving round 10am on saturday from somewhere near town? I'm working arvo's at the moment so not keen on anything earlier than that!
-
i'm getting 15psi by 3900rpm, i love this motor and turbo, driving home from work last night (1:30am) was about 4degrees, i just put it into thrid from second and put my foot down and the thing just shoves you back in your seat and pulls so had to the rev limiter!
-
ye, its got new side bearings, got to go to work now but i'll take some pics of the keyhole tomorrow! I will be putting the new gears in before i install the diff!
-
Here's the pictures i just took with everything i got with the diff!

i guess thats what you do when you've never actually experienced on and only gone on what people say!

Even if your not really into drifting this is pure entertainment and more than well worth the entry fee! If there's a few people going saturday maybe we could organise a small cruise out there? I'll be leaving my house (near town) around 10am

i guess if it is the pro adjustable one it will be a bonus but i don't like the idea of it stepping out when i decellerate! the 1.5 way semmed perfect for what i want! i'll go take some piccies!
-
good work Joel, looking at the spool comparison makes me think something is definitely not quite right with my car! Shaun did also say that i need more tension on the actuator as he said it seemed to be a bit loose. Nice work Gav! Cars looking good!

How Often Do Your Drive Your Car?
mr_rbman replied to magpies03's topic in General Automotive Discussion
mainly just on weekends when its on the road, i have a daily that i drive to work and i find when i do actually get to drive the 32 i appreciate it more and don't get bored so quick with it! -
mmmm, i was told this was a 1.5way when i purchased it!
-
wow, this was the last thing that i expected to read when coming on here today, the only reason i missed this cruise was because i had left my interior light on the night before which made my battery go flat, maybe it was a sign? Anyway RIP to the driver of the festiva and i hope drew recovers quickyly and is out driving again shortly!
-
i was pretty happy to start with but as Joel (cubes) has said, my duty cycle is up around the 85% mark which doesn't seem right (should be up around the 250rwkw mark with that duty cycle) so i'm going to do a direct voltage feed to the fuel pump first and the grab myself an 044. Now hurry up and get yours on the road, hehe!
-
i have an RB30 in my 32 now still with the 20 box and naturally i'm looking to upgrade, I have spoken too PPG and they can rebuild my gerabox with the works but the price is a hefty $6100, I think the 25 box is the way to go!

Steel Inlet Pipe To Turbo (air Filter -> Turbo)
mr_rbman replied to lows_13's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
just recently made mine due to putting a bigger turbo on, i have a catch can but u still need to vent the air from your plumb back blow off valve into there if your still using the standard blow off valve that is! -
I see, not as straight forward as in and out with a diff oil change then? Any idea what cars comes with 3:9's? might see if i can get some brand new!
-
My diff i just bought has the part number: 38420-RS585! Can anyone tell me what nismo diff it is?
-
really? thats good to know, i might go for one of them then cause there good for an easy 300rwkw's Where did you end up getting your diff gears from? Did you put your 2-way in yourself? if so was it pretty easy?
-
for a 32 i don't think u can go past gtr injectors as an upgrade!
-
the pump was second hand! been on the dyno 3 times though with it in and haven't had a problem yet. I'm not too sure why the pump would be holding back the power though? Is it because if it isn't working how it should the injectors need to work harder to make up for it? I'm not too sure what to upgrade to in terms of the fuel pump? I want something that i can just install as an intank pump (as i use my boot quite a bit so i don't want a surge tank or anything like that) but i've heard too many problems about installing the 044 intank if you let the the tank get below 1/4! But if i was to get the 040 i think that won't be good enough to cope with my power levels????

Now that i've driven the car probably 100kms i have a good feel for it and am very impressed with it, i was expecting lag but with the good compression and torque of this motor u honestly don't feel the lag! The turbo builds boost nicely and doesn't just all of a sudden hit you! But in answering your question i think the ultimate for this motor would be the .82/.86 or whatever it is like Andrew's (Sky30) but considering i couldn't get that with internal gate this was the best option and i'm more than happy with it! I'll email you the graphs when i get a chance! (it holds 15psi really nicely with one of them actuators i bought from ATS so i don't even need a boost controller which is a bonus!) The car is a little louder but sounds awesome, not sure if its due to the fact that i've put a straight through pipe through my cat though! I think i'm still going to get new diff gears though, i'm 99% certain i'll get 3:9's
