Hey guys, I picked myself up a used HKS 60mm GT-II wastegate. Problem is it came without an instruction manual. Im trying to work out how to use the special tools that come with the gate to safely and securely put the gate back together with the new springs in it. Its got a threaded rod with a keyway with a female thread in the end which I assume screws down onto the end of the valve stem, but from there i cant see how to use the nut with the keyway or anything. If someone has an instruction manual lying around they could scan, or a quick rundown how to get this damn thing back together, it'd be great. Cheers!

I had heard on the rumour mill that Herman from Envy Imports was importing them and doing the SEVS compliance. Being local to him is nice, might pop down once he has an R35 in stock and have a geez At least the rumour is confirmed. Time to start saving. Hah

Out of interest, did you do any timing belt tensioner re-locations, and which timing belt did you use?

I bought a replacement SR20 redtop from Rolin Imports to swap into an s13 that spun a bearing. Payed cash deposit at an ANZ bank, and the engine turned up on my doorstep later that week. Im in Sydney, rollin is somewhere in QLD. Not bad I thought. The engine came as promised on a half-crate, wrapped in black plastic to protect it from the elements. The engine was clearly labeled NO LUBRICANTS as to not destroy it on startup. I gave the engine a basic service - timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, thermostat, oil, filter. Its now a bit more than a year later and the engine is still running sweet and is showing no signs of unhealthiness. I couldn't recommend them more. I think you got very lucky just having an ecu problem which is easy to fix. Ive seen so many cases of front-cut engines being totally f**ked a few weeks after being fitted to their new body's, or having weird noises or unhealthy compression...

Dear god is it school holidays or something? Like Sydney Kid said, take your car to the mechanic that did the work. Something is wrong. If it was the clutch slipping, the engine would be revving whilst not accellerating. If your car is unable to rev normally and is not making boost, something is seriously wrong. Take it to your mechanic.

Mitchee replied to Primordial's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
ive noticed the forums have been rolled back in terms of posts? there was a thread with about 6 more replies earlier today, and now its gone back to how it was a few days ago, yet all the posts were relevant and werent deleted - im guessing.. can any admins let us know whats been happening? -
I have a gas soldering iron, plenty of heat-shrink and electrical tape, spade connectors etc for doing this if you guys need another hand. Ive done plenty of stereo installs from basic headunits to roof mounted screens & entire systems. I've also got a Jaycar trade card which im happy to use to buy peoples bits they might need. It yields great discounts

What caused the bent control arm? Exactly which panels have been keyed? What is the rest of the paint like condition-wise? How long ago was the engine built with the forged pistons, and who built it? Is this car located in Canberra?

Any photos of the interior? -
With Tein's (and im sure many other brands), height is adjusted by the lower-most ring on the strut. Basically you just loosen the lower-most ring, and turn the whole body of the strut out-of or in-to the lower half of the strut, turning the spring and all. Once the desired height is reached, lock it down again by tightening the lower ring against the lower half of the strut. Some lube might come in handy if the threads are dirty, too.
