  12. Yeah he has been doing alot of that sort of thing recently on various forums
  13. The other areas that AFM is excellent is on altitude and temperature variations. The nature of AFM's is to automatically compensate for the change in air mass. I also like the fact that you can make a modification on an afm car (eg install aftermarket cams) and it will continue running without fuss. If you do something like that on a map sensed car, you will be lucky to be able to get it to idle without a full retune
  14. You would want to see some serious advantages if you are paying 2.5x the price to get a similar result. Personally i'm not a fan of map sensed ecu's. Despite people's arguments that an AFM is a restriction, i'd like to see that proven. I'd prefer the complete 'factory behaviour' that a nistune has to offer over the 2rwkw that running a map sensor might give me
  15. Robert, In your opinion what advantages do Vipec/Link and PFC have over Nistune? I'm curious to know how people are forming their opinions.
  16. Mid way through at the moment. There are a few things that need changing to get the R33 rwd box to work in an S1 Stagea
  17. Hopefully the issue has been sorted via a RWD conversion? Thats how I sorted my issue
  18. Has nobody seen a shiftkitted box? Seems alot of people on here have installed them themselves. Surely you had noticed some type of machining marks or something?
  19. Hi Guys I recently bought a S1 stagea (with the 'A' series auto box) with a few mods. It has the following: FMIC, 3in turboback highflow Microtech LT10s Rising rate reg I bought it with a busted motor from a guy that only had it for a month. The previous owner knows little about it and he bought it assuming the motor was ok, but it broke on his trip home so he decided to cut his losses and sell it. I've never driven the car. He couldn't tell me much about the car other than what you could physically see. He didn't know it had a highflow, and he didn't know what the rising reg was. I'm assuming that at some stage it was making a reasonable amount of power, and given the microtech can't retard the timing on gearchanges, it may have a shift kit. Otherwise i'm guessing the auto wouldn't survive big power and no timing retarding The car is currently off the road with the engine out, and i figured this was a good time to get a shift kit if it didn't already have one. The problem is i don't want to buy a shift kit if it already has one. So assuming I can open up the box and remove the VB, and have a stock auto to compare to, how do I tell if the thing has a shift kit in it? I'm hoping that you people who have installed them yourself might be able to help Cheers Anthony
