  1. No longer chasing BOV. But still need Steering wheel! Let me know via details in first post. Cheers, Ben
  2. Just call up Battery World or similar and drop in. I went to my local one in Brisbane knew excatly what I wanted and sorted it out quick smart... haven't had any issues. Cheers, Ben
  3. Most notable differences are the Exterior and Interior styles. Couple mech changes (nothing serious) and that's about it. I personally went with a S1 as I had a bad experience with an airbag as a passenger *shudders*. I also avoided sunroofs. I even managed no ABS. I wanted a drivers car and that's what I got. It comes down to choice and you can generally change anything you don't want. I love my S1 and have already changed a few things the previous owners did. Anyway best of luck, the others have told you were the differences info is. I don't know about importers, I bought one that had been here for 6 months.
  4. Bringing back my thread. The door lock actually has failed (can't open door at all). I was told by a lock smith they would have to break the loop part that is attached to the body to open it.... I already have a locking mech to replace it and now I have to get a loop for the body.... This sucks. I'll let you all know how it goes (prices, time, effort etc...). Not something I'm enjoying... I'd rather have a blow gearbox... at least I could just unbolt it Cheers, Ben
  5. My mate paid $40 for a pair somewhere in Brisbane, I'll check where and get back to you. Also, you should leave the blue ones for a sleeper style action
  6. I work in the engineering industry.. lots of trucking up through there for mines and such, will be interesting to see the reactions and time between deliveries go up heaps
  7. Funny that, I have a genuine Momo with Boss kit on there already (has the HICAS stuff). Thanks anyway mate, best of luck getting rid of them (going to be doing the same soon). Cheers, Ben
  8. Hey guys, After a Series 1 Steering wheel in good condition. Willing to get them from anywhere posted, or pickup in Brisbane. Make offers here, via pm or via email, I don't mind having to call you on your mobile to talk. E-mail pics to benjamin.jarvinen@gmail.com Cheers, Ben
  9. I'd say it has to do with the driving. Heat soak etc... Mine is near stock, when it's been sitting for a couple of minutes (motorway traffic) heatsoak sets in something terrible and I feel the drop in power. Also things like where you park can affect it too (how much airflow / sun light), so when you start it up it could be quite warm already. On a cool night mine feels like a monster, on a warm day, I can feel it get sluggish. What sort of airflow do you have to your FMIC? Where do you park? If it is beyond those issues... then it's time to take it to the mechanic or tuner and ask them.
  10. I did mine last night. Swift, getting a decent amount back due to being a Pizza boy and knocking up the deductions! (did 2500km in my rolla, well more but I didn't write it all down and then tafe studies). Still need to do the previous year They owe me money, reason it wasn't done was because I was told I didn't have to do it until this year.... turns out that was wrong (stupid cheap tax guy). Ahhh fun fun, just remember, we are paying for our future... and the roads we drive on... HAHAHA Yeah right, enjoy the pot holes!
  11. First thing that comes to mind is a V8 commodore or falcon... but hardly a daily driver heh. I'm not sure if a V6 would be enough to tow a GTR. Your best bets are most likely Diesel 4wds. Good luck!
  12. Deform, awesome. I'd get deformed into a ninja! WOOT! Also, slide does good work. Mate of mine got a highflow a while back. Hasn't missed a beat and his car looks stock. It sounds like you didn't hook it it correctly, it's not a stock turbo and clearly states the extra work involved. Looks like you should just be quiet and deal with this in private as nobody here is going to support you.
  13. That was so terrible I think you just gave me cancer. WRX was designed for rally conditions, short events (only used for a few kilometres) while the RB series engine was designed for the track for events like the JGTC where it runs for heaps more distance and higher power. Just like trucks are designed with massive torque to move other trucks around, and RX7's are designed to move 1 person driving (hehe they have zero torque down low hehehe).
  14. mrbenno I agree with what you said about the boldness of his comments. Just because you don't buy something doesn't mean you can't afford it. This is about the car, not about our ability to buy it or not.
  15. I drive past a dealership everyday as I go for lunch... I've looked at these cars plenty (stopped off and took a look, sales guy gave me the usual talk). I don't like the look of them, they do appear to drive well (I drive past people as they are test driving them). Couple roundabouts, a set of lights etc... a straight. People drive soft, some fang it around. Slower then the previous models with the V6 as it's the same engine, but heavier body. The look like that tried to make it look widebody... all puffed up and that. Very weird looking car. Nice for what it is though
  16. Haha I was thinking the same thing. NFS4 High Stakes. Crazy that it's a real place... too bad you didn't fly off in NFS heh.
  17. I raced a Honda Integra Type R, he beat me, purely because he was more use to his car. Sure they are quick, but with a good launch, the right changes etc... You should beat him with your current set up. I've got a pretty stock car, cat back exhaust, safc II (I don't think it's tuned), phat tyres (17" 235 fronts, 255 rears), Heavy duty clutch and a HKS pod filter with CAI box. Rest is stock as a rock. But I know if I was doing my gears better (I'm new to the car at the track), I could have beatin him easily as he was only just getting up on me during gear changes (he was flat changing, while I wasn't and I launch like bog or wheelspin). Just practice your driving and you should be fine. The dump pipes will help you out heaps... but more important is how well you can drive. Go take some courses and lessons, best way to learn Edit: I should point out my 120kg friend was in the passenger seat and myself at 90kg. It all makes a difference, I still drive soft... Coming from a Twincam Corolla to a Skyline is fun
  18. I said for my fun. Nope my skyline doesn't have ABS. I'm not going to rip ABS off a car unless it was track only. I was pointing out why people like manual, it's about doing the driving yourself. Like I said, on track if I was trying to be the fastest out there I'd take every trick in the book, but I'm only interested in having fun at the moment. When the gearboxes let me f**kup and stall I'd be more willing... but my left foot would still get bored =\ Yep, I drive through bumper to bumper traffic with a heavy clutch, I love it! Not dissing the boxes, just saying why I prefer what I prefer
  19. If I wanted to play Grand Turismo I'd whip out the playstation 2. Yes they make for a faster car, but I personally like a "drivers" car. No traction control, no ABS, none of that fuzzy fluff. I want to drive my car, not it drive for me. Now if I was on a race track trying to win no matter what, give me a DSG paddle box any day Ontopic: Hot looking car, will be interesting to see it in the flesh. Can't wait to test drive one, ahhh contacts Interesting that they are already planning the 2009 model. Good to have the GTR return once again.
  20. Power steering leak, haha my dads VT series 2 has that. I swear the power steering in all commodores is just useless. They must get them cheap somewhere.... Mechanic says you have a couple choices, Replace (it will leak again soon enough), Rebuild with better parts or finally, buy a better pump. Useless car, 93 model skyline vs 2001 commodore... commodore leaks, falls apart, and uses too much fuel for it's power level. They aren't the worst cars, but if this new model is meant to take on the XR range... they'll be having fun "Our fuel leaks are less important then your manual gearbox issues mr Ford" haha!
  21. I'd say it does have Hicas. Best way to check is either check via Vin number with fast software. Or get under the back of the car and check if the gear is there. If you were in Brisbane... ahh... I have a leather momo wheel with boss kit I'm thinking of trading for a nice stock wheel (good condition one). I like the stock one
  22. Hey guys, Quick simple question... I hope Are the R32 and R33 Stock bov's the same? Do they at least have the same bolt up size and pattern? I tried searching... and all I came up with is the crushing bov thread which shows only the one type (R32 stock bov). It doesn't quite answer my question. Thanks in advance guys, Ben
  23. Okay guys I have an Blitz Super Sound Blow Off Valve for a R33 Skyline. It came with my car and I'm not a fan at all, I had to google the price of the thing even haha. Anyway it's got the strange little airfilter thing on it and comes with a rubber hose cover for the plumb back cable. They sell for $330 on modyourcar.com.au. All I'm after is either a swap for another aftermarket bov with plumb back or a stock bov. If it's already on your car... that's fine with me, come to my place I'll take mine off and yours and swap them. Or if you please you can do yours by yourself. Either that... or I guess sell for $200ono. It's only new, as it's the shinyest thing in the engine bay haha. I'm in Brisbane, my Suburb is Park Ridge South. No I won't meet you half way to the northside (I've done this lately for other things.. I do not like doing it). Pickup only. I prefer the swap... and it's probably to your advantage to Though I wouldn't mind a turbosmart plumb back or similar that can handle the higher boost levels. Contact details: PM me, or email me @ lightassassin@hotmail.com or mob. 0433621708 Modyourcar Blitz Bov link For details. Find attached a picture of one (I can get one of it in the engine bay on request), it's like new.
  24. Thanks mate Yeah off I go to call a locksmith then. *rolls eyes* First day owning the car. haha! Again Thanks, Ben
  25. Hey guys, Okay picked up my car yesterday (YAY!), and went to a mates place to show him. Anyway he came for a drive to my other mates place... when we got there the door wouldn't open (had been fine all day). It has an alarm, and central locking of course. But from the sounds I hear (the central locking works) however, the lock mechanism is broken, as the key won't unlock it either. Only issue is... the door is closed and stuck locked. Does anybody know how I can get it open? I have managed to get the top of the door trim over and I can get a coat hanger in... however I don't quite know what to pull to unlock it... or if I can. Any suggestions? Ideas? I'd rather not call a lock smith as I know I can do it myself. It's just a matter of knowing how Thanks for any help guys, Ben
