  1. Cool, thanks for the responses. Al, that was the other thing I was thinking, as I didnt really want to replace the bar... I like to keep things as simple as possible. Cheers, Crimpage.
  2. HI everyone, If i got a FMIC for an R33 Series 1, will it still do a better job than the stock one, even if i run with the stock front bar? I know that obviously it wont get as much airflow, but the stock front bar looks really restrictive... Just wondering if I should wait to get a FMIC until i get a new front bar? Thanks, - Crimpage
  3. HI everyone. Thanks for all your input. - Crimpage
  4. My Mongoose alarm works in the same fashion too RANDY. However if I turn my ignition to ON while my alarm is armed, then it chirps continuously until i either disarm it, or turn back to ACC. Blind: I know that if my car arms itself, then I still have to disarm it before I can drive away, as all it has done is armed the immobiliser and not the whole alarm. But I have never heard of an alarm that makes you arm it, even after it has armed itself, then disarm it. - Crimpage.
  5. Hi All, Anyone know what the X-Force turbo back exhaust systems that JustJap sell are like? I noticed that they come with an adjustable silencer... Do they cut power down heaps? I'm assuming you would have to balance it between power and noise... Any feedback is helpful. Thanks, Dave.
  6. After putting a stereo in and out of my car 3 time (I did it for the previous over before i owned it) I have had to remove the back seat a few times. The two clips at the front of the rear seat should need a bit of force, but nothing sensational. Although I did smack my head on the roof when I did it the first time... When putting them back in, because you slip the back of the bottom section under the backrest, the seat comes down on an angle, meaning you have to push the seat down and backwards to get them back in. More annoying things tho... There is a hole in the floor unto the seat for the seat to clip into, which has a plastic... thing in it. My plastic bit was bent which made it even hard to get back in sometimes... Nothing that 10 minutes of frustration can't fix. - Crimpage.
  7. Hi Everyone, I am currently looking at a 4 Door, 1993 R33 S1 and this being my first turbo'd Skyline, just want to know if I should get the Turbo checked out straight away. The car has 80,000 on the clock and I dont really have the time or money to have crappy problems like have a shagged turbo or something. Just wondering what you all reckon. Thanks, Crimpage.
  8. Item: 1992 R32 Skyline - RB25DE from the factory Location: Springwood Item Condition:Great Condition Reason for Selling: Getting 4 Door R33 - Daughter is too big for it now :\ Price and Payment Conditions:$9000 ONO - Cash / bank cheque Contact Details: PM me or email to - [email protected] Extra Info: Stock RB25DE Skyline 2.5L Straight 6 - Non turbo 124,000KM's Only has a cheap stereo in it as I have taken my one out. Has a tiny (almost unnoticable) dent high on the passenger side front quater - No paint loss, may be able to get the fixed up. I knew the previous owner before I bought the car off him and we both have never had a problem what so ever. Oil and filter changed every 5,000KM and just had a service and plug change (Platinums) at Elite Automotive here in Brisbane. Enquiries welcome. Will post a pic in the next 2 days... Thanks, Dave.
  9. Anyone know how loud they are? I'm after a fairly quiet (quieter than some) exhaust...
  10. My car is doing the same thing at the moment. However my car was handling fine, then I put it in to get services and they said my "power steering links need tightening". I told them to leave it, then I get it back from them, and it handles like shit. I do need a wheel alignment tho so I'll see how I go. I'll keep watching this thread incase its something else... Crimpage.
  11. Hi All, I'm selling my 32 and want to keep my current wheels, so looking for some factory alloys in 4 stud, and also the passenger side ac vent. Brisbane preferred. Thanks, Crimpage.
  12. Any of the vents at all? I'm looking for the passenger side vents... - Dave.
  13. Hi All, I'm trying to find a good exhaust shop in Brisbane. I'm after a 3" turbo back exhaust without the droning sound that many 3" exhausts can give. I have read good things about the GReddy Power Extreme II on these SAU forums, and just wondering if anyone knows a place in Brisbane that sell's and fits them. If not, who would be good to see to get something similar. Thanks, Crimpage
  14. From what I have read, you should use a thinner oil so it can get up to the turbo's faster on startup and the turbo's like a thinner oil to run normally as well... Just what I have read. - Dave
  15. Hi All, My next car will be an R34 GTT which I will go looking for in the next few months... At the moment, I'm liking the sound of the auto due to what sort of driving I do to and from work etc... Anyways, I just want to know what sort of power the gearboxes can handle / does anyone know if they are supposed to be pretty strong for a GTT + mods etc... I would assume that because the auto came out in some of the GTT's that it would be a fairly strong box. If anyone can shed some light, that would be great. Thanks, Dave.
  16. I cant remember what size the originals were, but it wasn't hard at all to get new ones in there. The hole in the door is big enough to get just about any speaker in there. My 32 had a plastic mount that screwed onto to metal part of the door to hold the factory speakers in. All I did was unscrewed that off, and made up my own mount / surround for my 6 /12" Alpines out of like 3mm wood (dont know what type... just soft crap) and they hold in there perfectly. Door trims go back overtop with the factory speaker grills... Wouldn't even know they were there... My rear speakers are 6" coax's and they fit in there perfectly but the screw holes didnt match up, so I used a soft glue like hot glue to stop rattling and could only screw it in with 2 screws. - Dave.
  17. Hi everyone, I had my car in for a service the other day, and one of the "extra" things they quoted for was a Carbon Blast. I can understand what it does, however I'm looking to find out how it is performed. Is it a simple fuel additive they use or is there a proper procedure? And what is $70 to do the job like? Thanks, Dave.
  18. Sorry to hijack your thread Keegza, but I'm also looking at doing something like this... I have an R32GTS with an RB25DE, and am looking at converting to an RB25DET most likely from a half cut. What other things would i need to look at changing as well? I know of brakes for a start, but i was also told the RB25DET computer wouldn't be able to run the utilities in the car (A/C etc..) is this so? and what else should i think about replacing as well. Thanks guys.
  19. I only get about 320km from a full tank in my R32 RB25DE. Would the best thing to check be the oxygen sensor ? - Crimpage
  20. Hi everyone, I'm just looking for a place that deals in import engines or actually imports the engines themselves. Not after anything super special, preferably if they have a website with stock lists. Thanks - Dave
  21. Hey, This has been fixed now. The PW lock button got some water in it and took a few minutes of hair-dryer action to fix it up. Turns out the PW lock only locks the passenger window, but unlike most cars, it even stops the driver from being able to open it.
  22. Yeah, there is only one plug that comes in for all window control to the drivers side. The funny thing is that i can control my drivers door window ok, so that should rule out the P/W lock button. Im pulling the switch out as we speak to open it up. I know when tinting cars they actually get quite a lot of water down the inside of the doors... Thanks Dave
  23. Hi everyone, I took my car to get tinted last week, and since then, my passenger window hasnt worked. I've pulled it apart and tested the switch with a multimetre and it seems ok, but there doesnt seem to be anything happening from either the passenger or driver door switches. I know the guys who tinted it pretty well, so i can go back and find out what they did and if there was anything they may have forgotten to do. If there is anything that you guys can think of that might help, im open to suggestions. I have checked all the fuses... (They were in Japanese, so i had to check all of them ) Thanks, Crimpage
  24. Hi everyone, I'm about to buy an R32 N/A. I'm just after a good place in Brisbane to get a roadworthy and a service for it. For the first service, i would prefer a place that knows a lot about Skylines... Preferably on the Southside, but anywhere is ok. Thanks! - Crimpage
