  9. I'm still waiting to get access to the members area but once I can get in and know where and when, I should be there. Look forward to hearing your setup, as its close to what I want except i'll only go a single subby. mike
  10. Hi Paul, That sounds like a damned good price compared to what I was quoted, especially when you consider that I am only going with a single subwoofer and i wasn't being quoted on a replacement head unit. The only problem with Gary's Car Radio is the location, i'm in Narre Warren and Preston is a long long way, especially as i'm guessing they'll want the car for at least a whole day. Going to have to think about this, damn, isnt anything easy anymore mike
  11. Hi Adzmax, Still can't access the members section Mike
  12. Hi Adzmax, No probs, I just wanted to make sure it didn't end up in the great Aussie Post black hole, heh. The stickers sound great too. I'll check out the members section asap. I'll be at the meeting for sure. mike
  13. Hi Adzmax, I sent off my membership form and payment last Tuesday by express post and haven't heard anything yet, can you tell me if you received it?? Thanks, Mike
  14. I'm in Narre Warren so I figured I would head on down to Freeway Car Audio to ask about replacing all the original (and now very stuffed) factory speakers. The guy I spoke to said they can't fit 6x9" in the rear, something to do with they wont hack into the parcel shelf or metalwork underneath, fine.. For the rears he suggested Alpine SPS-170A's and for the fronts he suggested Apline SPS-171A's (split system). Original grills will be used so it will still look stock. The amp for this would be an Alpine MRP-F240. For decent bass he suggested an Apline SWS-1242D with enclosure and Alpine MRP-M350 amp. They'll install sound deadening material, baffles and a line converter (if necessary) and do the install for around $2200. Is that a decent price? Does anyone have any feedback about these guys? I know they have been around for years and a guy at the Alpine stand I spoke to had just got his car back from them and was happy with the quality of work. Opinions? mike
  15. how do you find out when and where? mike
  16. It may be possible, most of the current home DVD players can be set to output either PAL or NTSC irrespective of the DVD type, so you'd need to make sure the car versions do the same. For me it wasnt about DVD tho, i was thinking it would be cool to be able to listen to the V8 Supercar races if I happened to be on the road at the time of the telecast. mike
  17. woa, $1100 bucks to do the NTSC to PAL conversion! Think I can do without TV Mike
  18. Paul's setup only wins as long as it chews up your only tape of Wham and the only function that works (besdies play) is rewind!
  19. Nissan CW726 head unit (5" lcd display, useless ntsc tv tuner, am/fm, eq) Nissan 6 CD Stacker factory speakers in rear and doors, all of which have just about fallen to bits) I'm off to Freeway car audio in dandenong asap to get some decent speakers fitted all round. Think i'll leave the CW726 in place for the moment, the TV wont tune our TV stations but the rest of it works just fine. I hope to get them to fit some 6x9" (with an adaptor) in the rears and some decent 6" with splits for the doors. Dunno if I should go a subby or not, we'll see..... mike
  20. Thanks Chris, Will give 'em a call. Mike

  25. Pioneer have finally released an Ipod interface. It plugs into the cd stacker interface and gives you complete control over the Ipod using the controls on the head unit which also displays the tag info. I'd imagine JB Hifi and similar stores would have 'em in stock by now. mike
