  1. It's more about double checking that I didn't have it wired up wrong. I want to do this double checking, if possible, without pulling the dash apart again. Mike
  2. If it is faulty they say I can't have an exchange until they send it away to the distributer who will confirm the fault, and I only bought it Friday night!! I don't even get any illumination when it's connected to power either..
  3. I've bought an SAAS tacho from Autobarn which might be faulty as it didnt read any revs when I had it connected to the ecu line at the back of the dash, which I had to put back together last night for a trip. For quick testing purposes (so I don't have to rip the dash apart again) I thought I'd use the test point in the engine bay, plus 12v and an earth are easily accessible there too. Mike
  4. Hi guys, I've read there is a test point somewhere in the engine bay where the tacho signal appears. Can someone tell me where it is? I have looked everywhere and cannot see a plug where I'd find this signal. Thanks. Mike Ps. I have a Series 2 R33
  5. Hi everyone, Just wondering if anyone has an a-pillar gauge mount for an s2 r33 for sale? Mike

Black R32 Skyline (WWP-XXX) turning from Princess Hwy into Narre Warren-Cranbourne Rd, Narre Warren, about 6:30pm. I was in the black R33 to your left.. Mike
  7. That's what I figured. The shocks were their own stock. I figure i'll take it to pedders in dandy, get them to check it over and go ahead. I've heard Midas do this kind of work too however the net didn't turn up much about them so I think i'll stay clear. Mike
  8. From the description here http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/4x-Neo-Wedge-LED-Bulbs-T3-T4-T5-White-Blue-Red-Green-/110460423099?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19b7f44bbb#ht_5174wt_689 I would say no, they are a drop in replacement ready to go. I can see a weekend of blown globe replacement and tacho fixing soon Mike
  9. I recommend Sabbadin Automotive in Mulgrave, Rob and his crew know Skylines and their idiosyncracies very well. My car is also a daily driver and if you tell them that then they'll use parts that are appropriate. One thing I like is they keep a record of the work done to your car and when you pick it up you get a fully itemised print-out of the parts, labour and any notes needed to be passed on. Rob is friendly and happy to explain things too. Mike
  10. Hi, I've got a Skyline R33 GTS-t and took it to a Pedders for one of their 28pt checks. This is what they came up with: Rear shocks leaking Rear bump stops missing (probably disintergrated due to faulty shocks they said) Rear hicas link worn All four tyres worn (do pedders do tyres? i didnt see any in the shop. gotta call 'em. maybe it was noted for safety) To supply, fit, and wheel align vehicle $880 (as above, not sure if that includes four tyres) That is the quote pretty much word for word, there is no mention of what brand and model the replacement parts will be. After reading various forums and googling for customers opinions I am not 100% sure I should go ahead with the quote. If I was to get it repaired I would be taking it to Pedders in Dandenong, who did not do the original quote (had to get it done elsewhere due to location) OR is there some other suspension business in the Springvale/Dandenong/Narre Warren area that can be recommended? Thanks for any help. Mike
  11. Opening scenes - Mad Max. So many great scenes and lines, not to mention a fairly good chase scene, heh. Running on Empty. Fox Vs Monaro guy, old school drag racing late 70s style. My two favs anyway.. mike
  12. I got an EPA letter requesting a noise level test. When I bought the car (R33 GTS-T) it came with a 3" cat back with large cannon tip, don't know what brand if any. Had it tested yesterday and it hit 94dB A couple of days later after finding a stock exhaust and getting it re-tested (different tester because this one was near the seller of the exhaust) it's still over!! Yup, stock standard exhaust from front to back and it's reading 96db. I don't get it, how can this be? Has some engine mod been done thats making it noisier than it should be? the exhaust guys suggested putting on an even smaller muffler to further restrict the noise. So i've gone from a 3" cat back cannon to a stock exhaust and now, possible, a smaller than stock muffler, *sigh*. Is there a way to make the original 3" cat back legal? I really liked the sound, power and look of it. Still dont understand how the standard 'zorst can be over! mike
  13. think thats your problem Jackie, rears should only be 5w ..
  14. hi jackie, from my R33 GTST manual. Indicator: Front 12v 21w : Rear 12v 5w mike
  15. same thing happens on my R33. Justin: Its not a breeze, its just the slightest bit of warm air, and you can only *just* feel it. Seems to me it must be a feature that Nissan include, like Paul said, due to the cold climate in Japan.
  16. i vote for this place to be the next sau outing

  18. yeah, awesome job guys! You do a great job with the club and even tho i'm only a new'ish member i've liked what i've seen so far.
  19. paul, sorry i meant service and general tune, i know they cant do anything with the stock ecu. all sounds good, now just have to arrange time off work to take it there.
  20. hey paul, i was going to take my car there for it's tune ( and possible upgrade, heh ) but I don't want to pick it up only to be told "sorry mate, your afm is screwed we tuned it as best we could". i wanna drop it off and pick it up with any defective parts replaced!
  21. How come they didn't replace the AFM ??
  22. hey dude, if you want to get an idea of what they are worth, have a look on something like www.carsales.com.au and see what other people are selling them for. Print out what you find, and then check each day to see which ones get sold and which ones don't, that should give you an idea. oh, and i saw you write something about not being a smart kid just because you can't spell, thats bullshit! Just because you can't write/spell does not mean your dumb, there's alot more to it than that. Everyone has stuff that they're good and bad at, and i'll bet that there is some stuff your better at than other people. mike

    R33 GTR Dash

not a bad result though, and considering how much a ready made one costs would be worth building. unless someone comes out with a reasonably priced commercial one, think i'll try my hand at it!
