  1. Get a known acurate temp gauge and check your values. 20 min to reac opperating temp is too long, so something is wrong (the guage or thermostat) Do you have access to an hand held digital thermomiter (laser sighted infa-red i believe) as these are very accurate and can read the temp of various points of the engine Another possible cause(s) are: faulty thermostat blocked radiator coolent problem scale/etc in the block
  2. this isnt exactly my area/field but I thought this may add to the basic understanding for some Quantum theory asserts that atoms and other elementary particles can be thought of as waves. Einstein proposed that as atoms approach absolute zero (-273.15°C), the waves expand in inverse proportion to their momentum until they fall into the same quantum state and finally overlap, essentially behaving like a single atom. The phenomenon (Bose-Einstein condensate) could not be observed, however, until techniques were developed to reduce temperatures to within 20 billionths of a degree above absolute zero. In 1995 Eric A. Cornell and Carl E. Wieman led a team that isolated a rubidium Bose-Einstein condensate under laboratory conditions; two experiments by different teams involving molecules were successful in 2003. It is believed that this state of matter could never have existed naturally anywhere in the universe, since the low temperatures required for its existence cannot be found, even in outer space. The condensate may be useful in the study of superconductivity (the ability of some materials to conduct electrical current without any resistance) and superfluidity (the ability of some materials to flow without resistance) and in refining measurements of time and distance.
  3. A single piece tail shaft has less to go wrong, fewer moving parts and hence less power loss. Why consider a 2 piece?? unless you have a long long distance to travel (aka a truck) or a very severe angle between the gearbox and the dif (aka a raised 4 wheel drive) If you have cash to waste, go for a carbon fiber tail shaft.
  4. Whilst we are on the topic of converting values, if I convert my skyline to 24 volts at 6000rpm, can anyone tell me how many amps I would have if I currently get 195fwkw on a dyno on a 23 degree day???
  5. Not sure which oil you should use, why not ring Tillbroks, Morepowa etc and ask what they recommend. (I would stay away from the cheep oils at most car parts stores)
  6. The dif in your 33 is where the rar axle meats the tail shaft. It converts the engines rotation (and power) through 90 degrees and out to the rear wheels.
  7. I was getting withdrawal symptoms, I need my SAU
  8. Did you try the Power FC, or did you just listen to the rumours? I have a PFC in my series 1 R33, and it works well, yet I have heard others say they have had trouble.
  9. not a lot of choice on sideskirts for the 4 doors. I had to order from overseas to get something other than a standard GTR style skirt. (watch out for importing costs though) I have considered making a copy of my set (skirts and rear pods) just to add some diversity to the mix.
  10. Those ones are OK, but a bit ordinary. The ones I ordered look like this http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...achmentid=19322 :aroused: and

  12. 51jay - not for a 4 door I couldnt.
  13. My fees were as follows: Airline Document fee 25.00 International terminal fee ex CTO 25.00 Air Cargo automation fee 15.00 Agency, Customs clearance and handling 150.00 Delivery 44.00 Duty/GST 122.75 Sub Total : 381.75 Tax 25.90 Total Due $407.65 Just checked with Virgin Blue - I could have flown return to NZ from Adelaide for $224.80 each way and probably claimed the sideskirts as part of my luggage. Can anyone with experience importing confirm these figures, or am I just getting screwed.

  15. My skide skirts cost me $700, air freight nearly $100, then customs charge me $400. If you work it out thats over 50% duty/charges. I dont mind paying airfare and 10% GST, but its all those other fees they slug you that are the killer. The other side to this argument is that these high fees make it hard for international companies to compete, and hence we get charged more by local manufacturers for the products they produce. (Whats worse in my case was that there wasnt a local option for me to choose anyway)
  16. I ordered a set of side skirts fron NZ, customs charged me $400 (WHAT THE F**K) I only wish I could have got skirts in Oz for a 4 door, but since that wasnt an option I had to go overseas.
  17. I tried this and got a whole lot of other stuff loaded on my PC, Add-aware picked up a lot of it. Not sure if it was coincidence or a website that downloads other crap.
  18. Yes, but the mesh infront of your front mount reduces the air flow. (Depending upon the mesh I believe it can be by 15 - 40%- cant remember where I read this to back up these figures)
  19. You can get them in WA. which is the only state not to make them illegal. The consquences of beeing caught are the fine and confiscation of the detector, but if you know your rights they can only do so much when looking for the detector. There is a web sight out there that covers all of this and more if you google it.
  20. I have used shannons, and have nothing but praise for them. My clain was processed quickly, my excess was only $400 - and they didnt argue when I took the car to the best (and most expensive) repair shop to get the work done.
  21. Hey Joel, if you are up Tea Tree Gully way any time drop on bye and see what a good respray should look like. (got mine back a week ago) It took them nearly 10 weeks, the last 1.5 weeks spent pollishing and aligning panels, but the results are worth it. (no orange peel, no buff marks) Dont settle for second best, if they couldnt do the job then they shouldnt have acepted it in the first place.
  22. Nice pic from the font :aroused: , but from the back
  23. to me it looks like a standard R33 series 1 front bar with lip added.
  24. Good luck getting a set from any one place. If you are cashed up you can order sets from Japan, the quality is excellent but the price is high. Alternativly you can put together your own set by getting bits and pieces from various places. I have just ordered my side skirts (and rear spats) from New Zealand, my front bar is from a group bye in these forums. Once its all done I will post pictures, but its been a struggle. Jspec advertise a complete impule kit for the 4 door but after a few months wait, many phone calls and emails and next to no replies I gave up. Good luck with your search.
  25. Due to a recent respray I now have a spare front windscreen for a series 1 R33 4 door skyline. I realise most of us have insurance to cover this but for those who dont I will sell the screen for $150 ono (beats the $2400 Nissan quoted me for a new one) It has the black tint around the very outside edge and is pogressivly tinted from dark at the top to light at the bottom. This screen has been on my car, and has a few very small/fine stone chips but is essentially as good as new. Purchaser to pay shipping if they are not in Adelaide.
