  2. who's doing the carbon work? keen to get some done myself...
  3. function over fashion it is then. i'll be the guy in the paddock with the riced up purple gtr. come and say hi.
  4. mark and russ's 32 had the rear of the bonnet on their 32 raised and swore it helped. Anyone else think it actually works? or is the consensus rice? **runs off to remove spacers from bonnet*
  5. done the math on that? it = a very long day. it will be at least 1min between each run (assuming a 25 second run and then allowing time to get that car off the air strip). i'll be generous and say that you;ll have them going every 30 seconds (but obviously there is no chance). that sees each of the 120 cars getting 1 run per hour....so you'll need to sit around 6 hours to get your 6 runs. that's without any breakdowns or oil spills or even a crash (hopefully we won't see one of those). everyone better pack breakfast lunch and dinner if they want their 6 runs or hope a lot of people pull out after their first 1 or 2 runs.
  6. just spoke to the rallysafe guys. Their system will be handed out at classic adelaide as they were at targa tas. They're still unsure when the product will be ready for purchase by joe public. They're confident that octogon are going to sign an agreement for all four targa events so it looks like they'll continue to be handed out free of charge (well, included in your entry fee) for at least this year and next.
  7. tomei 260 9.15 cams are pretty mild (what i've got).....are you saying even they are too big for good response? from memory mark berry's 32 had the same cams with n1's in the early days and that thing was an animal down low. Mind you i think he had about 28psi running through it.
  8. i just keep coming back to the turbos and sump (dry sump) question. Haven't seen too many of the cars at drive bathurst at targa...that's all.
  9. opinions....can you have a well setup targa 33 gtr which is a weapon in circuit events? hoping for a car that can do low 2:20's (on slicks) at bathurst this year but want it to fit within the targa rules. or do i give up and buy an evo and forget about the circuit stuff? (sorry to mention the e word on here)
  10. this rallysafe thing....can you buy them yet?
  11. haven't even thought about the engine rebuild and accessories yet, but would imagine so....considering the rules don't allow too many options
  12. next question....trip computer of choice? terratrip's look like they're straight out of the 80's.... and are they easy to fit, or a pain in the ass?
  13. most common downfalls of the 32/33/34 gtr's at targa? (assume the car is relatively well built with bigger brakes, suspension etc etc) keen to know what fails first.
  14. sweet...i can run my 18 x 10.5" on my 33. Thought i read 1" increase from std in the regs.
  15. wheels of choice for a 32/33/34 gtr in targa with bigger brakes? I have alcon's (365mm) and heard nightmares of finding wheels that fit over the caliper obviously would have to be 10" wide or less to be legal. no idea what to do with my weds 10.5" rims.
  16. silly question.....does classic adelaide have different sup regs to targa tas? Can't seem to find them... anyone going in it this year?
  17. correction...shannons now have 'racing extension'. this covers damage on your car other than mechanical upto $20k for any racing sanctioned by a racing body (cams etc). as an illustration, a car insured for $35k will cost around $800 for race only (laid up cover) insurance, and the additional racing extension cover will cost you $2200. unsure of the excess on the racing extension...likely another 1k or something.
  18. if you're in sydney......big mike is right. mine is getting done by brad at the moment.
  19. no wonder people buy evo's.
  20. question 2....accusump ok?
  21. Can you run a dry sump in a gtr for targa? Heard of a 32 running one this year. Keen to hear what category it would be in. Cheers
  22. my spot is up for grabs. pm me if interested.
  23. looking unlikely that i'll make it.
